my responsibility towards my country essay

My role in my country’s development

We all love our country. Love should not just be an expression portrayed in words but should be visible in one’s actions. A patriot is an example of someone who observes and practices these rules. Unfortunately, this attitude is difficult to bring about in many people. We can say that steps for our nation’s welfare is a difficult route to take. Developing a country to make it better is the first and foremost duty of every citizen. Like every other person, even I have my own roles and responsibilities in the development of my country, Nepal.

Development for a country is essential like oxygen for living things. Development gives any country the fresh breath of air which living things need. I am not a grown-up with much knowledge about my country but I am positively aware of the role I must play in order to improve the condition of my country. There is a saying in Sanskrit, 'Janani Janma Vumischa Swargadapi Gariyashi' which means mother and motherland are greater than heaven. Therefore, taking this saying in mind, we must put in more effort to make this heaven even more heavenly.

As a student, I have learnt of Nepal’s backwardness and its underlying factors. This imposes as a difficult challenge if I am to promote my country but as long as I take my mind off the negative factors, I can be successful in completing my duty.

Many people leave Nepal because of their poor condition and settlement. I understand that I should not think of migrating to foreign countries but help to make Nepal a destination country for others. To achieve that, I must study hard. The previous generation made Nepal a good place for us to call home and today, it is my generation’s turn to make it even better for the future generations to live in. That being said, I am not capable of doing it alone. Hence, everyone should take their part in it.

On April 25, an earthquake struck Nepal. This is what Nepal will be known for — a victim of Mother Nature’s wrath instead of the country of Mount Everest or The Gurkhas. We do not need sympathy but we deserve an applause for standing tall despite the tremor that was supposed to make us fall. We also need to be known for our great work, our colours and our nature.

My role in development is not to make Nepal like America but to leave my country as it is; not hiding her colours or forgetting her roots. I will try to help Nepal in any way I can. Being a Nepali, I have to work hard which will hopefully, one day, be beneficial to my motherland. Slowly but surely, Nepal will shine as the brightest star because I played my part together with all my fellow citizens living in every nook and corner of Nepal giving everything we could offer.

Essay on Responsibilities of a Good Citizen for Students [500+ Words]

December 10, 2020 by Sandeep

Essay on Responsibilities of a Good Citizen: Responsibility of a good citizen is to sacrifice everything for the motherland. Respecting the culture & heritage of their own country is one of the duties of a citizen. He or She must always keep in mind to raise the future of his country. Unity & prosperity must be the priorities of a good citizen.

Essay on Good Citizen 500 Words in English

Below we have provided the responsibilities of a good citizen essay, written in easy and simple words for class 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 school students.

We are born and raised in a single country, sometimes different countries., regardless of location, we incorporate the values of our respective cultures in the way we act and treat other people. Being a citizen of a country, however, is much more than some words and a stamp on endless paperwork. Along with it, one bears an ideology that connects them to other citizens of that country, regardless of their race, religion, or gender. Being a citizen gives a person all the rights to which the constitution says they are entitled.

This is why the process of citizenship of any country is a long and complicated one since it means that the person will legally have a voice in matters of the country. It also means that they will have to abide by the laws of that country, out of respect for the nation as a whole, as well as to uphold law and order. To be a responsible citizen, the person must educate themselves about their country and culture. This begins by conversing with people and understanding their way of life. It also involves an awareness of the country’s history and heritage.

This would mean reading about important figures in the country’s history, crucial events that led the country to where it currently stands, and other aspects such as the history of art and literature. It is also crucial that people who want to be responsible citizens know the diversity of different socioeconomic groups in the country. They must learn about the situation in the country in regard to equality in terms of race, religion, gender, and several other factors. One must learn about how minority groups are treated in the country, and if they are discriminated against, then the person must be an advocate to protect their rights.

A responsible citizen must always stay updated with the news. This does not mean simply reading the headlines on the front page of a newspaper- it means reading the articles thoroughly to understand the state of the nation. In an age where fake news is rampant, one must also not limit themselves to a single news source. They should try understanding an issue by learning about it from different news channels and articles by different newspapers. They will always provide different perspectives on the same issue, and this knowledge will allow the person to gain a better understanding of what their stance ought to be.

One must also learn about their own purchases- in an age of globalization, the products we use can be made in one country with materials from another. As a responsible citizen, one must not completely boycott products from other countries but should try to use local goods and services as much as possible. By doing so, the person is helping the economy of the country as well as financing local households. Volunteering and contributing to community development efforts is an important step in helping the country progress. One does not have to have widespread connections with major NGOs to volunteer- simply helping a disabled neighbour with their groceries also counts.

One can volunteer in local homeless shelters, orphanages, animal shelters, retirement homes, as well as other educational institutions like struggling schools and nurseries. If one does not have the time in their schedule to volunteer physically, they can instead choose to donate to charity. However, one must always donate wisely, because some charities are dishonest and lack transparency in terms of what actually happens with the funds from the donation. Therefore, always research the charity before donating to it.

However, supporting the community isn’t limited merely to volunteering with organizations or donating- it also involves supporting art, music, and cultural activities. One should support local artists by promoting their work and also stay on the lookout for shows, exhibitions, and other cultural events. By attending and promoting them, the person will not only develop a healthy sense of what truly constitutes entertainment but also allow the culture of the country to flourish in all areas truly. Being a good citizen involves being cooperative, friendly, considerate, and dedicated to fostering a positive environment in the community.

What is my duty towards my country – Essay 4 (600 words)

A person carries many duties in his life towards himself, family, parents, children, wife, husband, neighbors, society, community and most importantly country. Duties of a person towards the country are very important to maintain its dignity, bright future and lead it towards well being.

I am an Indian citizen as I have been born here. Being a responsible citizen of the country, I keep many duties towards my country which all should be fulfilled. I should perform the duties of various aspects related to the development of my country.

what are the duties

Duties are those tasks or activities which everyone individually should do on daily basis for the betterment and greater development of the country. It is the responsibility of every Indian citizen to perform their duties faithfully and it is also a necessary demand for the country.

what is my duty to the country

A citizen of the country is one who not only himself but also his/her ancestors have spent almost the whole life in that country, therefore also have some duties for each nation. Let’s take the example of a house where different members live together, however, the head of each household follows all the rules and regulations made by the eldest member for the good and peaceful life of the household. In the same way, our country is also like our home in which people of different religions live together although they need to follow some rules and laws which the government has made for the development of the country. The objective of the citizens loyal to the duties of the country is to bring the country into the category of developing countries by removing all social issues, bringing real freedom in the country.

In government or private sector offices, the employees working on time should perform their duties with loyalty without wasting time because it is rightly said in this context that, “If we waste time, time will waste us.” will give.” Time does not wait for anyone, it runs continuously and we should learn from time. We should not stop until we reach our goal. The most important aim of our life is to make our country great in the real sense.

We should not be selfish and should understand our duties towards our country. It is only us, not anyone else, who can be benefited and exploited as well. Each of our activities affects us both positively and negatively (if we do positive actions we will be benefited and if we do negative things we will be exploited). Therefore, why not take a pledge today that in order to save ourselves from becoming exploited in our own country, from today onwards we will take every step in the right direction with positivity. It is we who have the right to choose the right leader for our country and rule over it. So why should we blame others and leaders, we should only blame ourselves and not others because it was us who did not perform our duties as demanded. We were engaged only in our own daily routine and were involved in the lives of others, extra-curricular activities, Didn’t care about the country’s political affairs, etc. It is our fault that our country is still in the category of developing countries and not in the category of developed countries.

This is a big problem and we should not take it lightly. We should not be greedy and selfish; We should allow ourselves and others to lead a healthy and peaceful life. The bright future of our country is in our own hands. There is still time to change ourselves, we can do better. Start living life with open eyes and fulfill your duties towards your country. We should make a fresh and good start by cleaning our heart, body, mind and the surrounding areas.

Essays About Responsibility: Top 12 Examples and Prompts

We can’t take on the challenge of life without responsibility; If you are writing essays about responsibility, discover our guide below.

The word responsibility describes the state of being accountable for our actions and is one of the main elements that make us human. We are not born with it; instead, it is something to be exercised and improved on over time.

It has often been said that with power or freedom comes responsibility, which could not be more truthful. Each of us is gifted with the ability to make choices, and we are considered superior to all other living things on this planet. However, we have to make informed choices and be responsible for our actions, whether to ourselves, the people around us, and our environment.

5 Top Essay Examples

1. the value of responsibility by simon baker, 2. freedom is not the lack of constraint, but the exercise of responsibility by beulah west, 3. why responsibility is so important by steve rose.

  • 4.  The Beneifts of Being Responsible by Frank Terzo
  • 5. What It’s like to Feel Responsible for Everything by Duncan Riach

1. The Importance of Responsibility

2. dealing with false responsibility, 3. freedom and responsibility, 4. what is social responsibility, 5. what are your responsibilities, 6. responsibility as a component of success, 7. a time you acted responsibly.

“It’s easy for us to become blinkered or out-of-touch when we’re constantly working with our heads down. Although meeting our commitments is hugely important we bear another responsibility, that is to invest in ourselves and in each other. When we can free our imagination and refresh our minds, we restore perspective and reduce stress. We find time and space to explore new ways to collaborate, be creative and enjoy ourselves to the benefit of our mission.”

Baker writes about why he thinks responsibility is important and discusses factors related to responsibility, namely trust, personal choice, and freedom. A feeling of trust allows you to be more comfortable accepting responsibility, while responsibility allows us to maximize personal choice and freedom. Most importantly, bearing responsibility means freeing our minds, enjoying life, and coming up with great ideas.

“A lack of constraint means that you can not do everything that you want. In a perfect world this would be fine, but we don’t live in a perfect world. However everyone’s view of a perfect world is different, if this coincides with the law and you are happy, then you can be free still living under laws and legislations. If you believe that freedom is making your own choices then the only way that we can be “free” is if society does not exist.”

West discusses how just as personal freedom is vital to a healthy society, so is accountability for our actions. Freedom also has a negative side; it can be described as a lack of constraint in our choices. Without constraint, our actions may hurt others or even ourselves. Therefore, it must come with the responsibility to make these choices from a more thoughtful, educated perspective.

“Taking responsibility creates long term resilience and a sense of purpose. This sense of purpose can be fostered by taking responsibility for one’s self by engaging in self-care. Responsibility can also be developed on a familial and societal level, offering a sense of purpose proportional to your ability to contribute your unique abilities.”

Rose explores the importance of being responsible for one’s health. It gives us a sense of purpose and helps us build resilience; however, we must first be responsible for ourselves by practicing self-care. This includes resting, exercising, taking breaks, and going to the doctor if something is bothering us. This makes us more responsible for the people around us, allowing us to perform different societal roles. You might be inspired by these essays about success and essays about overcoming challenges .

4.   The Beneifts of Being Responsible by Frank Terzo

“If we take care of our commitments, even if it something we might like to ignore, we feel better about ourselves. Each step we take towards being responsible and productive helps to raise our self-esteem and our relationships with friends, family and co-workers improve ten-fold. Being responsible pays big dividends – we have much less stress and chaos in our lives and we gain the respect of others.”

In this short essay, Terzo provides insight into the many benefits responsibility can provide you with. We must always be responsible, even if we might not feel like it, because it can improve our productivity, self-esteem, relationships with others, and overall peace. Though it might not always be easy, responsibility is key to achieving a happy life.

5. What It’s like to Feel Responsible for Everything by Duncan Riach

“I hold responsibility when others are not taking responsibility. I was holding all of the responsibility, guilt, and shame that Billy McFarland was disowning. It’s a survival mechanism that I developed when I was a child. I had a step-father who was some form of psychopath or malignant narcissist, a person who was completely out of control and completely irresponsible. The only way that I could feel safe in that environment was to try to hold the responsibility myself.”

Riach reflects on a habit by which he constantly felt responsible for things out of his control, things as minor as events he saw on television. He developed this habit due to his upbringing- his childhood and family life were less than ideal. He is fully aware of his problem but still struggles with it. His case is an excellent example of false responsibility.

6 Writing Prompts on Essays About Responsibility

Responsibility is, without a doubt, essential, but how important is it really? Reflect on the meaning of responsibility and explain its importance. Discuss this from a practical and personal standpoint; combine personal experience and research as the basis for your points.

False responsibility is an attitude by which one feels responsible for things they are not. This is a widespread issue that encompasses everyone, from humble workers to some of the most influential people in the world. For your essay, research this phenomenon, then define it and explain why it occurs. Give suggestions on how one can identify false responsibility and work to stop feeling that way.

The topics of freedom and personal responsibility are deeply intertwined; for freedom to work correctly, there must be a certain level of responsibility instilled in people so society can function correctly. In your essay, discuss these two concepts and their connection. Do proper research on this topic, then conclude this issue: are we responsible enough to be given total freedom? You may also link this to topics such as the law and regulations. You might be inspired by these essays about goals .

What is social responsibility?

Social Responsibility seems straightforward and self-defining, but it is broad, especially with society putting a higher value on awareness, community, and social justice. Research this term and its history and discuss it in your essay; define and explain it, then describe what it means.

Whether in your studies or at work, as a family member, friend, or even a member of society, we have a unique set of responsibilities that vary depending on the person. Reflect on the different roles you play in life and decide what your responsibilities are. Briefly describe each one and explain how you fulfill these responsibilities. You can also check out these essays about conflict .

Responsibility as a component of success

This value is important because it is present in all successful individuals. Based on your opinions and research, discuss the relationship between responsibility, success, and some other factors or traits that influence success. Give examples of successful people who have shown responsibility, such as government officials, celebrities, and business leaders.

When we are responsible, we are pretty proud of ourselves most of the time. Think of an experience you are most proud of in which you acted responsibly. Retell the story, reflect on how you felt, and explain why it is important- be as detailed as possible. Or, you may opt to do the opposite, telling the story of a time you did not show responsibility and thinking of what you would do if given a chance to repeat it.

As individuals, we have a responsibility to reduce our ecological footprint. This can be achieved by adopting sustainable practices in our daily lives. Simple actions like recycling, reducing our consumption, using public transport, or biking instead of driving can have a significant impact on our environment.

In addition to individual actions, collective efforts are also crucial. As members of society, we can influence and advocate for environmental policies. We can support businesses that prioritize sustainability and boycott those that harm our environment. We can also participate in community initiatives like tree planting, clean-up drives, and awareness campaigns.

Education and Awareness

Knowledge is power. Educating ourselves and others about the importance of environmental responsibility is a key step towards a sustainable future. Environmental education equips people with the understanding and skills they need to make informed decisions and take responsible action.

In conclusion, our environment is our responsibility. The choices we make today will determine the future of our planet. By embracing environmental responsibility, we can contribute to the preservation of our environment and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come. The path towards environmental sustainability may seem challenging, but it is a journey that we must undertake, for our survival and the survival of our planet depends on it.
