15 best episodes of danny phantom.

Nickelodeon television show, Danny Phantom, had some absolutely stand-out episodes. These are the best episodes of them all.

Danny Phantom  premiered April 3, 2004, introducing a new kind of hero that would create an eternal legacy. Audiences took a liking to it, developing a dedicated cult following that exists to this day with all practically demanding a reboot. As of now, that hasn't yet happened, but you never know. Creator Butch Hartman appears to be on-board with the idea, even giving his audience a look into Danny Phantom: 10 Years Later on his YouTube channel .

Yet, until a reboot really does come around, we can enjoy the episodes that are available and celebrate the 15-year milestone with fifteen memorable episodes of Danny Phantom!

Attack of the Killer Garage Sale

Suddenly given the opportunity to join Casper High's "in-crowd", Danny impulsively sells his father's "junk", which has been infused with Technus' (who controls technology) ghost energy in order to pay for the outfit required to attend the party. In his quest for popularity, Danny ditches his friends Tucker and Sam. That is, until the party blows up in his face and he realizes how insignificant it truly is. When Technus attacks, Danny pleads with his friends to forgive him and promises to never ditch them again, which restores their friendship just in time to stop the madman and teaches Danny to never take his friends for granted.

Doctor's Disorders

When the students of Casper High suddenly begin to exhibit ghost powers, Danny investigates. Trouble is, the students are locked inside a hospital with heavy security. Danny and Tucker manage to sneak inside (despite Tucker's intense fear of hospitals). Turns out, Danny's familiar foes Penelope Spectra and her assistant Bertrand are behind the evil plot. Together, Danny and Tucker save the day courtesy of Tucker's foul-smelling original cologne, which makes the source of the virus, ghost bugs, leave the bodies of the students, curing them. Unfortunately for Tucker, Sam falls on him from the ceiling and breaks his leg, landing Tucker in the hospital. How's that for cruel irony?

The Ultimate Enemy

When Danny cheats on a test, he receives serious repercussions. He finds that this action leads to the deaths of those closest to him and renders him into the evil, sinister version of himself. Horrified at this future, Danny utilizes time travel and help from fellow ghost Clockwork to change his future and make better decisions. Therefore, he works towards becoming a better man. This episode's moral lesson certainly leaves an impact and message among audiences to not make life-changing decisions lightly and to consider repercussions of your actions. This episode also offers the audience a deeper insight into Danny's personality, so we better who he is and who he wants to become.

Prisoners of Love

In this episode, Danny meets Walker, a crooked, yet by-the-book prison warden from the Ghost Zone. Despite Walker's warning to stay out of the Zone, Danny returns to retrieve his father's anniversary present to his mother that he accidentally lost. He winds up in prison himself, alongside fellow ghosts he returned to the Zone that wound up in prison themselves--and hold a grudge against him for it. Danny manages to establish a temporary truce to escape, which proves successful. Freed from prison with the gift, Danny quickly goes after his parents to find them celebrating his aunt's anniversary of her divorce. Stranger things can happen, unless you're a Fenton.

Memory Blank

In this episode, we get a look at what life might have been like for Danny, Tucker and Sam if Danny had never gotten his ghost powers. After saying offhand that she wished she'd never met Danny, Sam inadvertently causes Danny and Tucker to forget all about her thanks to Desiree's (the wishing ghost) powers.

Faced with Desiree granting everyone's wishes which would surely cause mass destruction, Sam convinces Danny to reenact his accident in order to defeat her. This episode also introduces Danny's new customized emblem on his costume, designed by Sam herself.

Bitter Reunions

This episode introduced Danny's archenemy, Vlad Masters. When Danny's parents bring him and his sister along to their college reunion, Danny finds out more about their past through Vlad, who used to be friends with them and secretly harbors feelings towards Danny's mother. Not only that, but in the accident Vlad had in college, it gave him ghost powers, making Danny the second person his parents accidentally turned into a half-ghost. The end of the episode results in an interim truce, or else they both reveal who they really are to Danny's parents, something that makes Vlad back down, for fear of being forever rejected by Maddie.

My Brother's Keeper

Danny has been gloomy and depressed, resulting in Jazz enrolling him in counseling with the school's counselor, Ms. Spectra (a ghost that feeds off of students' negative emotions to make herself look younger). Danny struggles with being hard on himself and feeling like a loser, until he realizes that it's time to move past that. He makes this adjustment with help from Jazz, who always encouraged him and supported him. This episode exemplifies the brother-sister bond they share, and it is also a significant episode in that Jazz discovers Danny's secret, but chooses to keep it to herself to allow Danny to tell her when he's ready.

Public Enemies

Walker and his goons infiltrate the human plane to capture and incarcerate Danny. They overshadow people around him, but Danny successfully eludes them by hiding out in Fenton Works, his home, with the ghost shield up. Sam and Tucker convince him to come out and face the music despite the imminent danger, so Danny fights and ultimately defeats Walker and his gang (with some help from his new ghost friend Wulf). Unfortunately, it's not without a sacrifice: Danny becomes Public Enemy Number 1 in Amity Park's eyes, but despite the setback, Danny doesn't waver from his dedication to protecting his hometown.

Control Freaks

"Circus Gothica" arrives in Amity Park, much to Sam's contentment. Unfortunately, its Ringmaster, Freakshow, is providing more than just entertainment. His scepter has the power to hypnotize ghosts into doing whatever he wants, and that power soon begins to control Danny, forcing him to rob banks and conduct Freakshow's evildoing alongside the other ghosts.

Danny fights to regain control of his mind, but it's not until Sam's life is in danger that Danny finds the power to overcome Freakshow's control in order to save her. Danny destroys the scepter and ensures Freakshow is caught, which concludes Season 1.

Double Cross My Heart

This episode is paramount in the sense that this is the first time we see Danny truly jealous. When Sam's caught up with a new kid in school named Gregor, Danny relentlessly spies on them, convinced Gregor is working with the Guys in White, due to some similarities Gregor shares with them. Sam resents Danny's spying, oblivious to Danny's jealousy. However, Danny turns out to be right; Gregor is phony, but not in the way he previously thought.

First loves are difficult to acknowledge, especially when you've been friends forever, as we see with Danny's and Sam's struggle.

Maternal Instincts

Maddie takes Danny to a science symposium to bond with her distant son. The trip instantly goes horribly awry, as it is a ruse put on by Vlad. Danny temporarily loses his powers due to one of Vlad's devices and must survive in the woods with his mother until they return, which proves difficult as Vlad has sent some of his ghost minions after the two. The episode portrays Maddie's adept ghost-fighting skills, Danny outsmarting Vlad with witty remarks and quick-thinking, and even a sub-plot of Jazz and Jack bonding back at Fenton Works, defending it against an army Vlad had sent to annihilate them.

One of a Kind

Danny meets Skulker, a ghost hunter that fancies collecting rare and unique things. Danny, being half human and half ghost, fits the bill. Danny is forced to balance pulling his Biology grade up, eluding and ultimately sending Skulker back to the Ghost Zone. Skulker is also one of the most memorable of villains and sometimes ally that always threatens to capture Danny and force him to be a part of his collection. Luckily for our hero, that never does happen. This episode gives us a look in a "day in the life of Danny Fenton/Phantom", and we'll easily take doing extra credit over being hunted.

Fanning the Flames

Rockstar Ember is the new and popular singer in town, her song "Remember" playing throughout the episode. Unfortunately for her fans, she's a ghost. Danny figures this out, but is hit with a love spell before he can do anything and becomes enamored with Sam. Sam must break his heart to break the spell, which is bad news for Ember who has to pay the price. Teenagers can certainly relate to being invested in the newest act in music, and fun fact: this is one of creator Butch Hartman's top five favorite episodes . Not to mention we love how catchy "Remember" is.

Phantom Planet

The series finale is nothing short of explosive. We see Danny losing and then regaining his powers, Vlad's new ghost-fighting team "Masters Blasters", an incoming "Disasteroid" that is set to destroy Earth, the revealing of Vlad's true identity and his subsequent isolation, Danny's plan to save the Earth, and the surprise appearance of Danny's enemies to offer their help to save the Earth.

All of these things and more keep viewers hooked, even now. However, what the episode is likely most remembered for is Danny and Sam finally becoming a couple. Even if the show had to end, at least we got a happy ending.

Mystery Meat

The episode that started it all! We were introduced to our hero, Danny, and his two closest friends, Tucker and Sam. The premise is set, and action soon sets in when Danny is faced with the Lunch Lady who has a strong affinity for meat and a volatile temper. It is in the pilot that Danny realizes that his powers aren't a curse but a means to help, leading him to understanding what they are for and making a promise to protect Amity Park from all evildoing ghosts. This episode was what launched the adventures that became Danny's life.

Danny Phantom  was a show that wasn't afraid to delve into the heavier topics of being a teenager and that was what resonated with audiences because they could relate. All of the episodes are special one way or another. As Danny and his friends grew up, so did we. The cult following remains today, for it is impossible to forget the adventure that began in 2004.

Going Ghost: 15 Best Episodes Of Danny Phantom

10 years since the series stopped airing, Danny Phantom remains a favorite among his creator and his fans. Here are the show's 15 best episodes.

"Danny Phantom" was a Nickelodeon animated series created by Butch Hartman. Originally airing from 2004 to 2007, the show featured the supernatural exploits of a teenaged boy named Danny Fenton. When Danny Fenton accidentally activates a ghost portal invented by his parents, he becomes half-ghost. With the help of his best friends Sam and Tucker, Danny secretly uses his newfound ghost powers to become the superhero Danny Phantom and protect the city of Amity Park from ghosts.

RELATED:   Batman Beyond: The 15 Best Episodes

Today, the show is still fondly remembered by fans and by its original creator. On February 21, 2017, Hartman premiered a short cartoon on Nickelodeon in which the characters of "Danny Phantom" meet the characters of Hartman's other shows. To celebrate the first Danny Phantom animation in 10 years, here are the 15 best Danny Phantom episodes.

15 MEMORY BLANK

Be careful what you wish for or you'll create an alternate world! After a fight with Danny, Sam wishes that she never met him. Unfortunately, this wish is overheard by the evil genie ghost Desiree, who has been granting wishes in order to become more powerful. As a result of Desiree granting the wish, Sam lives in a world where Danny never met her and never got his ghost powers. Once Sam realizes what happened, she must recreate the events that led to Danny getting his powers in order to save Amity Park from Desiree and three female ghosts she brought to life.

This episode was special because we get to see exactly how Danny ended up getting his ghost powers. The show's intro sequence made it seem like Danny wandered into the ghost portal on his own, but it actually turned out to be Sam who convinced him to take a look at the portal. This is also the episode where Danny gets a cool new logo made by Sam for his Danny Phantom uniform.

14 THE ULTIMATE ENEMY

While preparing for the standardized C.A.T. tests that will determine his future, Danny gets paid a visit from ghosts that turn out to be from his own future. Danny discovers that after cheating on the C.A.T. test and suffering the horrible deaths of his family and friends, he would eventually become a powerful evil ghost named Dan Phantom that terrorizes the world. With the help of a time-ghost named Clockwork, he tries to keep this future from coming to pass while his evil self tries to ensure that it does.

At some point in their lives, every teenager worries about his future. For Danny Fenton, a future where he turns evil is the worst possible outcome. This episode shows how an evil Danny would impact not only Danny and his loved ones, but also Danny's ghost enemies and the ghost zone they live in. It does a great job of showing Danny's potential for evil and showing how powerful and ruthless he could become.

13 BITTER REUNIONS

Danny's family goes to a college reunion hosted by Vlad Masters, an old friend of Danny's father, Jack. Unbeknownst to them, Vlad is plotting to get revenge on Danny's father for two reasons. The first reason is that he wants to steal Danny's mother Maddie away from Jack. The second reason is that, years ago, Jack caused an accident that infected Vlad with ghost ectoplasm, giving him ghost powers.

As an introduction to a character who would become Danny's greatest archenemy besides his future self, this episode did very well. It established Vlad Masters and his alter ego, Vlad Plasmius, and showed off how cunning and obsessive he was. He is shown pretending to like Jack in order to further his own personal goals and fooling everyone as this friendly rich billionaire. He is shown to be a complex villain, because he tries to get Danny over to his side after discovering the boy is half-ghost, and Danny is the product of everything Vlad never got.

12 PHANTOM PLANET

After a battle with Danny, Vlad comes up with a plot to get him to go into hiding for good. He creates a new teenaged team of ghost hunters called the Masters Blasters, who prove to be so effective at catching ghosts that Danny thinks he is no longer needed. As a result, he activates his family's now partially deconstructed ghost portal, which takes away his ghost powers and leaves a white streak in his hair. Meanwhile, scientists have discovered an enormous asteroid heading toward the earth and must come up with a way to destroy it.

This hour-long episode served as the series finale for the show. It not only put a twist on the typical superhero story, but it also wrapped up Danny's ongoing rivalry with Vlad and Danny's ongoing romantic tension with Sam. This episode showed how much Danny Phantom means to Amity Park, the world and the ghost zone.

11 SHADES OF GREY

Danny Phantom chases down a ghost dog named Cujo only to find it has wrecked Axion Lab. Unfortunately, this impacts Danny's popular classmate Valerie Grey, whose dad gets fired from Axion Lab. She and her dad move into a cheaper apartment, but the ghost dog manages to escape from the ghost zone and wreck the place. This forces Valerie to sell her tickets to a concert to get by and the popular crowd shuns her. After running into Danny Phantom and the ghost dog again at school, Valerie goes home and finds a mysterious package containing ghost hunting gear. Donning the gear, she decides to become a ghost hunter to take revenge on Danny Phantom and the dog for ruining her life.

Having ghostly archenemies is one thing, but having human ones adds complexity to Danny Phantom's story. Valerie becomes the only character in the show to hate not only Danny himself, but also ghosts in general. This episode begins with Danny and Valerie's ongoing rivalry, which represents the "shades of grey" that the episode is named for. Also, since the ghost-hunting gear was unknowingly given to her by Vlad Masters, it also show how far he is wiling to make Danny's life miserable.

10 PUBLIC ENEMIES

Walker, a warden in charge of a prison of ghosts in the ghost zone, devises a plan to recapture Danny, who escaped from the prison in a previous episode. He makes a deal with a ghostly werewolf convict named Wulf, telling him that if he captures Danny, he will grant him his freedom. At the same time, Warden leads a mass invasion of Amity Park in order to make Danny Phantom public ghost enemy number one. Danny must team up with Wulf in order to stop the invasion and defeat Warden without getting recaptured.

This may be one of the few episodes where the bad guy's plan actually works. Although Danny manages to defeat Walker, everyone still manages to think that the ghost invasion is his fault. This includes Danny's own ghost hunter parents who have no clue that he is half-ghost. This is great character progression for Danny as a hero because now he will have to earn their trust back. Furthermore, Wulf ends up becoming a unique and valuable ghost ally that would team up Danny again much later.

9 REIGN STORM

Vlad Plasmius is searching for the Ring of Rage and the Crown of Fire, ancient artifacts that once belonged to Pariah Dark, the King of Ghosts and the most powerful ghost in the ghost zone. He finds the Ring of Rage, but ends up awakening Pariah Dark from his sarcophagus when he goes for the Crown. Now, Danny Phantom must work together with Vlad and the other ghosts in order to stop Pariah Dark from taking over the ghost zone and the earth.

Serving as the first hour-long special of Danny Phantom, this two-parter causes a storm literally and figuratively. Danny's life is thrown into chaos with Pariah Dark invading the earth, but he also manages to get closer to Valerie  and has to deal with Vlad manipulating him, Valerie and Pariah Dark's faithful servant Fright Knight. A turning point for Danny comes in this episode, when he wins the approval of Amity Park after saving them and corrects their mis-naming of him.

8 FLIRTING WITH DISASTER

While battling an electronics technology ghost named Technus, Danny gets distracted when Valerie gets hurt a little. This allows Technus to escape into Valerie's cell phone, where he overhears Valerie and Danny talking. The gears in Technus' head start whirring when he decides to take advantage of Valerie and Danny's feelings. When Casper High takes a field trip to Axion Lab, Technus overhears Tucker discussing their main computer, the latter of which has the power to take over every computer in the world via satellite. Technus decides to keep Danny busy with Valerie so that he doesn't interfere with his plan to use the main computer to take over the world.

For viewers who have been following the romantic tension between Danny and Sam, seeing Danny unwittingly become a part of a love triangle between him, Valerie, and Sam is amusing. On top of that, you have Technus, who is so aware of Sam's feelings for Danny that he tries to give Danny a hint. The fact that Technus is a villian who wants to take over the world's technology and yet is so entertained by a teen love triangle is really fun to watch.

7 KINDRED SPIRITS

Danny meets a 12-year-old girl named Danielle, who introduces herself as Danny's cousin. Suspicious of Danielle, Danny goes to look for her when she leaves his house and finds out she is half ghost just like him. Over the next few days, Danielle evades Danny's questions and fights ghosts with him until they run into Vlad. Danielle then knocks Danny unconscious and reveals that she was a ploy to help her daddy Vlad. However, Danielle must soon decide where her true loyalties lie when she learns the true purpose of Vlad's schemes.

As stated earlier, Danny represents the love and family that Vlad always wanted but never got. On the other hand, Danielle is the physical representation of Vlad's life right now, an imperfect thing he literally made himself. Not only does this add depth to Danielle's character that some viewers might catch, but it also makes Danielle and Danny kindred spirits in more ways than one.

6 EYE FOR AN EYE

Danny starts playing pranks on Vlad in order to get back at him, but he ends up pushing the villain too far. Vlad uses his his influence and ghost powers to become the mayor of Amity Park and then ruins Danny's teenage life by enforcing strict rules and taking over the popular teen hangout, Nasty Burger. On top of that, he convinces the town that Danny Phantom's presence will only increase ghost attacks. Now, Danny must endure Vlad's reign and figure out a way to turn Vlad's scheme against him.

When it comes to the episodes featuring Vlad Masters up to no good, this is the best one. Vlad not only managed to get the public on his side by becoming mayor and blaming Danny Phantom for ghosts, but he also managed to make Danny Fenton's life miserable too. With this episode, Vlad proved to be a worthy adversary for Danny to go up against because his intelligence and manipulation are at their peak.

5 THE FRIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

Danny is the Christmas Grinch because he hates that his parents fight over the existence of Santa Claus every year. While blowing off steam in the ghost zone, he accidentally fires a ghost ray into the lair of a literal ghost writer and destroys the Christmas poem the writer had been working on. After seeing that Danny doesn't feel bad about his action, The Ghost Writer traps Danny in a new Christmas poem to teach Danny about the spirit of Christmas.

You'd think it would be impossible for a show centered on ghosts to be able to do a Christmas episode, but this proves viewers wrong. It tells a touching, original Christmas story while cleverly riffing on classic Christmas tales such as "The Night Before Christmas" and "How The Grinch Stole Christmas." Having everyone speaking in rhyme is also used smartly in this episode as a source of amusement for The Ghost Writer and a loophole for Danny.

4 GIRLS' NIGHT OUT

After fighting with their boyfriends, three female ghosts (Spectra, Kitty and Ember) use their collective power to get rid of all the men in Amity Park. Luckily for Danny, he is out with his father on a father-son fishing trip when the ghost ladies' spell occurs. However, this means that Maddie, Jazz, and Sam will have to join forces to defeat Spectra, Kitty, and Ember, and save the men of Amity Park.

This episode could've gone on a cheesy feminist route and had Maddie, Jazz, and Sam gloating about how their ghost-hunting skills are superior to Danny and Jack's. Given that this would've been exactly what the ghost ladies' wanted, things would've been bad. Luckily, the human ladies manage to take advantage of the ghost ladies' attitudes in order to defeat them. All the while, both Danny and Jack are shown to be competent ghost hunters when Danny repeatedly fights Skulker without revealing his secret and Jack rescues Danny from a giant lake monster.

3 FANNING THE FLAMES

A new rock singer named Ember McLain is popular among Danny's peers. However, Danny soon discovers that Ember is actually a siren-like ghost that uses her musical powers to make people love her and make herself stronger. Thanks to Danny's ghosts powers and Sam wearing ghost-noise filtering headphones, the two are the only ones unaffected. Now, the two must figure out a way to break Ember's spell before she takes it worldwide and becomes too powerful to stop.

Not only is Ember a cool ghost to look at and watch, but also she is the only ghost in the series to have her own theme song. You only hear the chorus in the episode, but the full version is available to listen to online. Through Ember, the episode provides an interesting view on music and teenagers. The episode would also serve to begin the romantic tension between Danny and Sam that would continue for the rest of the series.

2 BEAUTY MARKED

Sam enters a beauty pageant in order to prove how shallow the events are. Danny is inadvertently chosen by a judge for the pageant by its host, Dora Mattingly, and girls kiss up to him as a result. However, Sam notices Dora's eyes glow strangely when Danny accidentally steps on her foot. Soon, Dora is revealed to be Dora the Ghost Dragon and the pageant was a way for her to find a bride for her brother, Prince Aragon. There will be wedding bells in Sam's future unless she, Danny, and Tucker can defeat Aragon and Dora.

Putting a twist on beauty pageants,  the damsel in distress and medieval stories, this episode was lots of fun for Sam as a character. Her goth, blunt persona makes it hilarious to see her become the destined princess of Prince Aragon. She completely destroys the image of what a princess and beauty queen should be, swinging from chandeliers, putting a gothic twist on her princess dress, and helping Dora overcome mistreatment by her brother.

1 SECRET WEAPONS

After learning Danny's secret, Jazz becomes a member of "Team Phantom" and tries really hard to fit in with Sam, Danny and Tucker as a ghost hunter. When she ends up doing more harm than good, Danny gets so angry at her that  he drives her away. Distraught and hurt, Jazz ends up finding solace in Vlad Masters, who decides to manipulate her to get at Danny.

As one of a few brother-sister centric episodes, this episode shows Jazz's first attempts at becoming a part of Danny's world. Since she is an over-achieving character and protective of Danny, this attitude carries over onto her ghost hunting and causes her to mess Danny up. This episodes demonstrates that Jazz is better at ghost hunting when she doesn't worry about Danny too much. At the same time, her bond with her brother allows the two of them to work together and get out of sticky situations.

Danny hates the holiday season, being something of a scrooge, but will he change his mind once he receives a lesson on Christmas spirit from the Ghost Writer ?

Synopsis [ ]

Snow falls in Amity Park as Christmas approaches. Everyone is Christmas-shopping at Amity Park Mall , including the trio of friends. While Sam is in a chipper mood, Danny is annoyed.

When she calls him out on his scrooge-like attitude, Tucker tells her about the fight : Every Christmas, Maddie and Jack argue over the existence of Santa Claus, wreaking all sorts of havoc in Danny's life. Even as they're talking, they hear Maddie telling nearby children visiting the mall that Santa does not exist while Jack states otherwise.

Frustrated, Danny flies to the Ghost Zone , destroying Christmas items to reduce stress. At the same time, the Ghost Writer has completed his Christmas poem, The Fright Before Christmas . Danny accidentally destroys the poem, but does not feel too bad due to his hatred of the holiday.

Enraged at his behavior, the Ghost Writer writes a new book, The Fright Before Christmas 2 , starring Danny, and blasts him back to Amity Park, where he is now stuck in a rhyming induced Christmas story where anything Ghost Writer writes comes true until Danny's lesson is learned.

Wanting to know why Danny hates Christmas so much, Sam's question is answered when Tucker relates the story that every single Christmas, Danny's parents' argument over the existence of Santa usually ends with Danny getting the short end of the stick, leading to traumatic childhood memories.

The Ghost Writer then turns all the reindeer at the mall into ghosts, leaving Danny to fight them off, destroying most of the mall in the process and causing everyone to blame him.

At home, the situation is not any better, as his parents still argue, causing him to finally explode in frustration and leave the house. As he turns ghost and begrudgingly flies away, presents float up and away from the neighboring homes and trail behind him, angering everyone further, including his family and friends. To further cause trouble, the Ghost Writer brings all the toys to life. They all join together to form into a giant nutcracker toy. Danny blows it to pieces, but also destroys all the toys, which upsets everyone once again.

The Ghost Writer adds further insult to injury by bringing all the Christmas trees to life and turning them into monsters as well, surrounding Danny. As he handles the monsters, the news reports of the mutant trees cause Jack to put up the Ghost Shield and Maddie to stop squabbling with her husband long enough to go out and save her son. Danny destroys the trees with his Ghostly Wail before turning human in time for his mother to come and claim him, both returning home.

He enters the Ghost Zone to confront the Ghost Writer at his home afterwards, but he types it so that Danny ends up in another place, one holding his ghostly foes.

However, instead of a battle, the ghosts hold an "annual truce" according to which they do not fight on Christmas, instead befriending each other for the day.

The Ghost Writer expects them to suspend the truce in order to attack Danny, but they do not, regarding the truce as equally applicable to half-ghosts. When Danny explains that the Ghost Writer broke the truce, all the ghosts set out to attack him.

The Ghost Writer, however, quickly writes away the truce, causing all the ghosts to battle one another instead.

Danny then takes an orange to Walker's face, but since nothing rhymes with "orange," the writing spell wears off for the time being and the ghosts commence attack on the Ghost Writer. Danny destroys his keyboard and the Ghost Writer is arrested by Walker and his guards, but Danny's still stuck in the poem and now he is forced to guide the story himself. While he is being driven to jail, the Ghost Writer tells Danny that the poem is still not done until his lesson is learned.

Danny sadly leaves the Ghost Zone, without saying a word, and returns to the now depressing human world, as he recites the story in his mind. He sits down, ashamed and in sorrow - when his friends come to comfort him. There, he expresses his guilt over ruining Christmas, his speech causing all the presents to be fixed.

Wanting to make things right, Danny and his friends, as well as his ghostly foes, all help return the gifts, Christmas trees, and other holiday items back to their rightful homes, restoring Christmas once and for all.

The ghosts agree to help Danny.

Danny bids the ghosts a fond farewell afterwards and leaves for his own house where he apologizes for acting in spite, seeing the family celebrates Christmas their own way.

Then all his ghostly enemies fly off via sleigh pulled by the ghost reindeer to which Jack and Maddie give chase, the latter finally believing in Santa Claus, and Danny learns his lesson: "Everyone celebrates in the way of their choosing".

Sam, Tucker, and Jazz are then confused by Danny who realizes they are no longer talking in rhyme. The story ends with the Ghost Writer in jail, with his now-complete book (and teased by Walker about his fear of oranges).
