feature_pencilpaper

One of the hardest parts of writing a research paper can be just finding a good topic to write about. Fortunately we've done the hard work for you and have compiled a list of 113 interesting research paper topics. They've been organized into ten categories and cover a wide range of subjects so you can easily find the best topic for you.

In addition to the list of good research topics, we've included advice on what makes a good research paper topic and how you can use your topic to start writing a great paper.

What Makes a Good Research Paper Topic?

Not all research paper topics are created equal, and you want to make sure you choose a great topic before you start writing. Below are the three most important factors to consider to make sure you choose the best research paper topics.

#1: It's Something You're Interested In

A paper is always easier to write if you're interested in the topic, and you'll be more motivated to do in-depth research and write a paper that really covers the entire subject. Even if a certain research paper topic is getting a lot of buzz right now or other people seem interested in writing about it, don't feel tempted to make it your topic unless you genuinely have some sort of interest in it as well.

#2: There's Enough Information to Write a Paper

Even if you come up with the absolute best research paper topic and you're so excited to write about it, you won't be able to produce a good paper if there isn't enough research about the topic. This can happen for very specific or specialized topics, as well as topics that are too new to have enough research done on them at the moment. Easy research paper topics will always be topics with enough information to write a full-length paper.

Trying to write a research paper on a topic that doesn't have much research on it is incredibly hard, so before you decide on a topic, do a bit of preliminary searching and make sure you'll have all the information you need to write your paper.

#3: It Fits Your Teacher's Guidelines

Don't get so carried away looking at lists of research paper topics that you forget any requirements or restrictions your teacher may have put on research topic ideas. If you're writing a research paper on a health-related topic, deciding to write about the impact of rap on the music scene probably won't be allowed, but there may be some sort of leeway. For example, if you're really interested in current events but your teacher wants you to write a research paper on a history topic, you may be able to choose a topic that fits both categories, like exploring the relationship between the US and North Korea. No matter what, always get your research paper topic approved by your teacher first before you begin writing.

113 Good Research Paper Topics

Below are 113 good research topics to help you get you started on your paper. We've organized them into ten categories to make it easier to find the type of research paper topics you're looking for.

How to Write a Great Research Paper

Even great research paper topics won't give you a great research paper if you don't hone your topic before and during the writing process. Follow these three tips to turn good research paper topics into great papers.

#1: Figure Out Your Thesis Early

Before you start writing a single word of your paper, you first need to know what your thesis will be. Your thesis is a statement that explains what you intend to prove/show in your paper. Every sentence in your research paper will relate back to your thesis, so you don't want to start writing without it!

As some examples, if you're writing a research paper on if students learn better in same-sex classrooms, your thesis might be "Research has shown that elementary-age students in same-sex classrooms score higher on standardized tests and report feeling more comfortable in the classroom."

If you're writing a paper on the causes of the Civil War, your thesis might be "While the dispute between the North and South over slavery is the most well-known cause of the Civil War, other key causes include differences in the economies of the North and South, states' rights, and territorial expansion."

#2: Back Every Statement Up With Research

Remember, this is a research paper you're writing, so you'll need to use lots of research to make your points. Every statement you give must be backed up with research, properly cited the way your teacher requested. You're allowed to include opinions of your own, but they must also be supported by the research you give.

#3: Do Your Research Before You Begin Writing

You don't want to start writing your research paper and then learn that there isn't enough research to back up the points you're making, or, even worse, that the research contradicts the points you're trying to make!

Get most of your research on your good research topics done before you begin writing. Then use the research you've collected to create a rough outline of what your paper will cover and the key points you're going to make. This will help keep your paper clear and organized, and it'll ensure you have enough research to produce a strong paper.

  • Submission Guidelines

Journal of General Management is quarterly peer reviewed journal, with a mission. The mission of the Journal of General Management is to provide thought leadership by publishing articles on managerial practices with organisation-wide or cross-functional implications. We seek original theoretical and practical insights into general management in all types of organisations.

We are global in orientation and welcome submissions rooted in empirical research or novel business solutions in all fields related to general management including (but not restricted to): strategy, leadership, corporate governance, international business, decision-making, change management and corporate social responsibility. We also seek articles written from a functional perspective such as finance, marketing or supply chain management, provided these demonstrate links to cross-functional and general management topics. We aim to increase the relevance of developments in individual disciplines for general managers. The journal seeks to advance knowledge as to the multi-disciplinary nature of management and fulfil three objectives: 1. To help top managers understand the salient economic, social, political and technological issues that affect the success of their organisation, and their abilities to act; 2. To keep senior executives up-to-date with new developments in the theory and practice of general management; 3. To foster new thinking, research, and the exchange of experience between academics and policy-makers across the world. We consider papers that build or expand general management theory as well as research that tests theories. In particular, we invite papers dealing with current management debates and cutting-edge business solutions. The journal is open to research based in conventional as well as emerging quantitative and qualitative methodologies. A Brief History of JGM

Professors Keith MacMillan and Bernard Taylor founded the Journal of Business Policy - forebear to the Journal of General Management - in 1970. Their aim was to provide a focus for the study and research of the function and responsibilities of top management. The occasion for the journal's founding was an International Seminar on Teaching and Research in Business Policy held at the University of Bradford. Taylor and MacMillan also edited a book with the title Business Policy: Teaching and Research (New York: Wiley, 1973).

In 1972 both men moved from Bradford University to Henley Management College (now the Henley Business School, University of Reading). Henley was known for its focus on General Management and, in order to broaden the Journal's appeal to practicing managers, the journal's name was changed from Business Policy to the Journal of General Management . The focus, which had begun with an exclusive emphasis on 'the function and responsibilities of top management', was broadened to include a wide range of topics pertinent to the pursuit of managerial excellence - the journal has catered to the modern manager's need to be knowledgeable in a wide range of fields, flexible and virtuosic so as to have the agility to switch easily between handling matters as diverse as strategy, reputation, finance, and HRM. The excellent general manager must, to borrow a metaphor from a JGM article (Remenyi, Grant, Pather, 2005), be able to change colours with the same ease as a chameleon alters its skin.

JGM is therefore aimed at the practitioner or researcher who appreciates the importance of research with practical implications, global reach, and a broad vision of the general manager's complex role. The Journal's Contribution

The JGM has helped to focus the attention of executives, consultants, teachers and researches on Leadership, decision making and organisational change at the top of businesses and other organisations. Over the years, articles have focussed on themes such as: · Identifying and building on business strengths and core competences. · Generating new businesses through entrepreneurship and innovation · Developing co-operative strategies through alliances and Joint Ventures · Corporate Governance and Board Leadership at the top of the organisation, e.g. how non-executive directors create value. This journal is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)

Henley Manager Update

Henley Manager Update was founded by Professor Keith MacMillan in 1988, and was a quarterly guide for practitioner managers, business school teachers or researchers interested in keeping abreast of the research developments across key areas of management science. The journal ceased publication in 2008, though backfile remains available here http://journals.sagepub.com/home/hmx .

1. What do we publish?

1.1 Aims & Scope

Before submitting your manuscript to Journal of General Management, please ensure you have read the Aims & Scope .

1.2 Article Types

Journal of General Management is a journal of cross-functional research. It publishes thoroughly-researched articles on all areas of management science. Quantitative, qualitative and conceptual papers are all accepted. The normal length of an article is 4,000 to 6,000 words, but both longer and shorter articles can be accepted. A synopsis of not more than 100 words must also be enclosed.

1.3 Writing your paper

The SAGE Author Gateway has some general advice and on  how to get published , plus links to further resources. SAGE Author Services also offers authors a variety of ways to improve and enhance their article including English language editing, plagiarism detection, and video abstract and infographic preparation.

1.3.1 Make your article discoverable

When writing up your paper, think about how you can make it discoverable. The title, keywords and abstract are key to ensuring readers find your article through search engines such as Google. For information and guidance on how best to title your article, write your abstract and select your keywords, have a look at this page on the Gateway: How to Help Readers Find Your Article Online

2. Editorial policies

2.1 Peer review policy

Authors are expected to abide by ethical standards of academia: work must be original, not published elsewhere in the same format, and manuscripts must be fully referenced. Only manuscripts written in English will be accepted. If relevant, authors must state clearly in what way their research has already been made public. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work meets scholarly standards of referencing, and that full acknowledgement is given to sources.

The Journal of General Management adheres to a double-anonymize peer review policy. For the administration of the double-anonymize peer review, articles need to provide details of all contributing authors in such a way as to allow these details to be removed and placed in a separate file. Authors submitting PDFs of their research should therefore include their biographical details in a separate PDF file to the manuscript file.

2.2 Authorship

All parties who have made a substantive contribution to the article should be listed as authors. Principal authorship, authorship order, and other publication credits should be based on the relative scientific or professional contributions of the individuals involved, regardless of their status. A student is usually listed as principal author on any multiple-authored publication that substantially derives from the student’s dissertation or thesis.

Please note that AI chatbots, for example ChatGPT, should not be listed as authors. For more information see the policy on Use of ChatGPT and generative AI tools .

2.3 Acknowledgements

All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed in an Acknowledgements section. Examples of those who might be acknowledged include a person who provided purely technical help, or a department chair who provided only general support.

Please supply any personal acknowledgements separately to the main text to facilitate anonymous peer review.

2.3.1 Third party submissions

Where an individual who is not listed as an author submits a manuscript on behalf of the author(s), a statement must be included in the Acknowledgements section of the manuscript and in the accompanying cover letter. The statements must:

  • Disclose this type of editorial assistance – including the individual’s name, company and level of input
  • Identify any entities that paid for this assistance
  • Confirm that the listed authors have authorized the submission of their manuscript via third party and approved any statements or declarations, e.g. conflicting interests, funding, etc.

Where appropriate, SAGE reserves the right to deny consideration to manuscripts submitted by a third party rather than by the authors themselves .

2.4 Declaration of conflicting interests

Journal of General Management encourages authors to include a declaration of any conflicting interests and recommends you review the good practice guidelines on the SAGE Journal Author Gateway

2.5 Research Data

The journal is committed to facilitating openness, transparency and reproducibility of research, and has the following research data sharing policy. For more information, including FAQs please visit the SAGE Research Data policy pages .

Subject to appropriate ethical and legal considerations, authors are encouraged to:

  • share your research data in a relevant public data repository
  • include a data availability statement linking to your data. If it is not possible to share your data, we encourage you to consider using the statement to explain why it cannot be shared.
  • cite this data in your research

3. Publishing Policies

3.1 Publication ethics

SAGE is committed to upholding the integrity of the academic record. We encourage authors to refer to the Committee on Publication Ethics’ International Standards for Authors and view the Publication Ethics page on the SAGE Author Gateway

3.1.1 Plagiarism

Journal of General Management and SAGE take issues of copyright infringement, plagiarism or other breaches of best practice in publication very seriously. We seek to protect the rights of our authors and we always investigate claims of plagiarism or misuse of published articles. Equally, we seek to protect the reputation of the journal against malpractice. Submitted articles may be checked with duplication-checking software. Where an article, for example, is found to have plagiarised other work or included third-party copyright material without permission or with insufficient acknowledgement, or where the authorship of the article is contested, we reserve the right to take action including, but not limited to: publishing an erratum or corrigendum (correction); retracting the article; taking up the matter with the head of department or dean of the author's institution and/or relevant academic bodies or societies; or taking appropriate legal action.

3.1.2 Prior publication

If material has been previously published it is not generally acceptable for publication in a SAGE journal. However, there are certain circumstances where previously published material can be considered for publication. Please refer to the guidance on the SAGE Author Gateway or if in doubt, contact the Editor at the address given below.

3.2 Contributor's publishing agreement

Before publication, SAGE requires the author as the rights holder to sign a Journal Contributor’s Publishing Agreement. SAGE’s Journal Contributor’s Publishing Agreement is an exclusive licence agreement which means that the author retains copyright in the work but grants SAGE the sole and exclusive right and licence to publish for the full legal term of copyright. Exceptions may exist where an assignment of copyright is required or preferred by a proprietor other than SAGE. In this case copyright in the work will be assigned from the author to the society. For more information please visit the SAGE Author Gateway

3.3 Open access and author archiving

Journal of General Management  offers optional open access publishing via the Sage Choice programme and Open Access agreements, where authors can publish open access either discounted or free of charge depending on the agreement with Sage. Find out if your institution is participating by visiting Open Access Agreements at Sage . For more information on Open Access publishing options at Sage please visit Sage Open Access . For information on funding body compliance, and depositing your article in repositories, please visit Sage’s Author Archiving and Re-Use Guidelines and Publishing Policies .

5. Submitting your manuscript

Journal of General Management is hosted on SAGE Track, a web based online submission and peer review system powered by ScholarOne™ Manuscripts. Visit http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/gem  to login and submit your article online.

IMPORTANT: Please check whether you already have an account in the system before trying to create a new one. If you have reviewed or authored for the journal in the past year it is likely that you will have had an account created.  For further guidance on submitting your manuscript online please visit ScholarOne Online Help.

As part of our commitment to ensuring an ethical, transparent and fair peer review process SAGE is a supporting member of ORCID, the Open Researcher and Contributor ID . ORCID provides a unique and persistent digital identifier that distinguishes researchers from every other researcher, even those who share the same name, and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between researchers and their professional activities, ensuring that their work is recognized.

The collection of ORCID IDs from corresponding authors is now part of the submission process of this journal. If you already have an ORCID ID you will be asked to associate that to your submission during the online submission process. We also strongly encourage all co-authors to link their ORCID ID to their accounts in our online peer review platforms. It takes seconds to do: click the link when prompted, sign into your ORCID account and our systems are automatically updated. Your ORCID ID will become part of your accepted publication’s metadata, making your work attributable to you and only you. Your ORCID ID is published with your article so that fellow researchers reading your work can link to your ORCID profile and from there link to your other publications.

If you do not already have an ORCID ID please follow this link to create one or visit our ORCID homepage to learn more.

5.2 Information required for completing yoru submission

You will be asked to provide contact details and academic affiliations for all co-authors via the submission system and identify who is to be the corresponding author. These details must match what appears on your manuscript. The affiliation listed in the manuscript should be the institution where the research was conducted. If an author has moved to a new institution since completing the research, the new affiliation can be included in a manuscript note at the end of the paper. At this stage please ensure you have included all the required statements and declarations and uploaded any additional supplementary files (including reporting guidelines where relevant).

5.3 Permissions

Please also ensure that you have obtained any necessary permission from copyright holders for reproducing any illustrations, tables, figures or lengthy quotations previously published elsewhere. For further information including guidance on fair dealing for criticism and review, please see the Copyright and Permissions page on the SAGE Author Gateway

6. On acceptance and publication

6.1 SAGE Production

Your SAGE Production Editor will keep you informed as to your article’s progress throughout the production process. Proofs will be sent by PDF to the corresponding author via our editing portal SAGE Edit or by email, and corrections should be made directly or notified to us promptly.  Authors are reminded to check their proofs carefully to confirm that all author information, including names, affiliations, sequence and contact details are correct, and that Funding and Conflict of Interest statements, if any, are accurate.

6.2 Online First publication

Online First allows final articles (completed and approved articles awaiting assignment to a future issue) to be published online prior to their inclusion in a journal issue, which significantly reduces the lead time between submission and publication. Visit the SAGE Journals help page for more details, including how to cite Online First articles.

6.3 Access to your published article

SAGE provides authors with online access to their final article.

6.4 Promoting your article

Publication is not the end of the process! You can help disseminate your paper and ensure it is as widely read and cited as possible. The SAGE Author Gateway has numerous resources to help you promote your work. Visit the Promote Your Article page on the Gateway for tips and advice.

The first section of this list of management research topics focuses on entrepreneurship in the modern world. Those entering the labor market today, beyond seeing careers in large enterprises, often find opportunities to join or start new ventures, sometimes even in virtual contexts such as second life. What is important to know about organizational emergence, corporate entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, social enterprise, high-technology entrepreneurship, the role of government in helping and impeding entrepreneurs, the special issues that women must address in starting new businesses, how to go about planning new businesses, and why entrepreneurs keep trying after initial failure of a new venture is covered here.

The second topical area to be addressed by this list of management research paper topics concerns contemporary issues of business, society, and government. The 21st century finds businesses nested in over multiple jurisdictions, where cultures and values are changing and that are increasingly beset by crises such as disasters of the natural environment. Global business citizenship is discussed as not only a socially responsible and ethical way for firms to proceed but as a sensible and effective way of fitting with the requirements of our time. New forms of labor relations are evolving given the robust positioning of competition, both domestic and international, of nonunion and low-wage enterprises. One research paper looks at directions in labor relations with a focus on what they might be in 2025. Excessive work and its business consequences is an issue addressed by a research paper linked in this list. The factors associated with the success of women managers in business are analyzed. Doing well by doing good is a current business buzz phrase. That is, making money by working with people in poorer nations who benefit by the partnership. This was chiefly sparked by Prahalad’s The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid (2006). The multifaceted dimensions of this movement are addressed in a research paper in this section. Another paper discusses organizational crisis management in the post-9/11 business epoch. The proactive management of an organization’s environment including activist groups and other stakeholders is considered at length.

Managing the global enterprise is addressed with a focus on doing business in Asia and developing nations. How firms manage terrorism-induced uncertainty is one of the areas considered. The development of a global mind-set and working in a multilingual business world is covered.

Hurricane Katrina and Al Gore’s movie and book put global climate change on the agenda of leaders of business, government, and management professors and students, and the reference librarians who guide them. The part of our collection of research papers on Sustainability and the Natural Environment, begins with a research paper on Sustainable Organizations for the 21st Century. It is followed by a research paper explaining why firms comply or do not comply with environmental regulations. An applied focus is provided by a research paper on Environmental Strategy, Leadership, and Change Management in Business. The section concludes with a research paper on how many firms collaboratively incorporate environmentalist concerns in supply chain management.

Strategy in a fast and networked world is the theme of 11 research papers. How strategic decisions are made in high-velocity contexts begins the section. Innovation, effective planning, and competition in Internet-based interorganizational systems are covered by three research papers. Evolving aspects of outsourcing to countries such as India is the focus of another research paper. Business partnerships and mergers are discussed with a focus on interorganizational product and service development and deployment.

Six research papers are on operations management with new technologies in a global context. How companies’ boundaries blur in the integrated and globalized context in the age of e-business is one of the focal research paper topics. This is followed by improving supply chain information velocity, product customization, and cost through extended enterprise applications. How information technology and automated processes enable “mass customization” where products can be individualized profitably is the topic of a research paper. Ethical manufacturing is reviewed in a separate research paper.

Organization and disorganization topics are examined through the prism of post-9/11 security concerns. One research paper is on hospital planning for weapons of mass destruction incidents. Global projects as an important new organizational form is discussed in another research paper. The constraints of an organization’s structure on what it does are also covered.

Teaming in and beyond organizations in the knowledge economy is the focus of five research papers. The section begins with the evolving nature of work teams as they change to meet the requirements of the future. Web-based tools for collaborating with customers to develop new products and services are the subjects of a research paper. Transnational teams in knowledge-intensive organizations are discussed, as is the coordination in global teams and the conflict management within them.

The human resources as a key strategic factor topical section covers work-home interaction issues, flexibility in work and scheduling, wellness programs, and career management including the special issues associated with mid- and late careers. Diversity and its management in the age of globalization are covered in four research papers. Family friendly organizations are discussed with a focus on the future.

Managing the behavior of people in 21st century organizations is the subject of nine research papers. Motivating people working remotely is discussed. Also covered is making work in public organizations intrinsically motivating. Understanding and managing misbehavior in organizations is a topic of another research paper. Intercultural communications and strategies for managing the intercultural dimensions of business are treated in a separate research paper. Emotion, trust and mistrust, and organizational politics are covered here as well. The part on Organization Development and Change also has six research papers discussing how change can be most effectively carried out in contemporary organizations.

Leadership is the topic of over six research papers. The section begins with a research paper on developing a leadership style to fit modern challenges. Then, remote leadership in the new and evolving technological context is explained. Leadership across organizational, functional, cultural, and geographical boundaries is discussed.

The part on Information and Knowledge With Mobility and Ethics includes research papers covering knowledge management, communities of inquiry, facilitating mobile and virtual work, the impact of telework, electronic monitoring of person Web use at work, information privacy organizations, multilingual and multicultural issues in global e-commerce, managing intangible capital, and the implications of radio frequency identification technology.

Vineyard Wind Starts Spinning: Overcoming Onshore Challenges to Offshore Wind

In 2024, the offshore wind industry was taking off globally but slow to catch on in the United States. Growth of the U.S. offshore wind industry was complicated by a variety of hurdles including a sparse supply chain and workforce, lack of policy surrounding the ocean-area leasing, a significant upfront investment in infrastructure, and pockets of community opposition. It was uncertain whether the U.S. would establish its own independent offshore wind ecosystem, or opt to import specific components — even large project developers — from across the Atlantic. On a decade-long project trajectory, Vineyard Wind 1 became the first large-scale U.S. offshore wind. While the power was being generated out at sea, much of Vineyard Wind’s decade-long work had taken place onshore, including with stakeholders in Martha’s Vineyard, close to where power was generated, Barnstable on Cape Cod where power arrived on land, and New Bedford, where turbine parts were assembled. This case explores Vineyard Wind's leadership in U.S. renewable energy, building the right community relationships to drive success.

What is a research paper?

In order to write a good research paper, it’s important to know what it is!

In general, we can divide academic writing into three broad categories:

  • Analytical: analyze the tools an author uses to make their point
  • Research: delve deeply into a research topic and share your findings
  • Persuasive : argue a specific and nuanced position backed by evidence

What’s the difference between an analytical paper and a research paper? For an analytical paper, it’s okay to just use one or two sources (a book, poem, work of art, piece of music, etc.) and examine them in detail. For a research paper, however, the expectation is that you do, well . . . research .

The depth of research that you’re expected to do will depend on your age and the type of class you’re taking.

In elementary or middle school, a “research paper” might mean finding information from a few general books or encyclopedias in your school library.

In high school, your teachers might expect you to start using information from academic articles and more specific books. You might use encyclopedias and general works as a starting point, but you’ll be expected to go beyond them and do more work to synthesize information from different perspectives or different types of sources. You may also be expected to do “primary research,” where you study the source material yourself, instead of synthesizing what other people have written about the source material.

In college, you’ll be required to use academic journals and scholarly books, and your professors will now expect that you be more critical of these secondary sources, noticing the methodology and perspectives of whatever articles and books you’re using.

In more advanced college courses, you’ll be expected to do more exhaustive surveys of the existing literature on a topic. You’ll need to conduct primary research that makes an original contribution to the field—the kind that could be published in a journal article itself.

What makes a good research paper topic?

One of the most important features of a research paper topic is that it has a clear, narrow focus.

For example, your teacher may assign you to write a research paper related to the US Revolutionary War. Does that mean that your topic should be “the US Revolutionary War”?

Definitely not! There’s no way to craft a good paper with in-depth research with such a broad topic. (Unless you’re in elementary or middle school, in which case it’s okay to have a more general topic for your research paper.)

Instead, you need to find a more specific topic within this broader one. There are endless ways that you can make this narrower! Some ideas generated from this one broader topic might be:

  • Causes of the US Revolutionary War
  • Changes in military strategy during the Revolutionary War
  • The experiences of Loyalists to England who remained in the American colonies during the Revolutionary War
  • How the Revolutionary War was pivotal for the career of Alexander Hamilton
  • The role of alliances with France during the US Revolutionary War
  • The experiences of people of color during the Revolutionary War
  • How George Washington’s previous military career paved the way for his leadership in the Revolutionary War
  • The main types of weaponry during the Revolutionary War
  • Changes in clothing and fashion over the courses of the Revolutionary War
  • How Valley Forge was a key moment in the Revolutionary War
  • How women contributed to the Revolutionary War
  • What happened in Amherst, Massachusetts during the Revolutionary War
  • Field medicine during the Revolutionary War
  • How the Battle of Saratoga was a turning point in the Revolutionary War
  • How different opinions about the Revolutionary War were reflected in poetry written during that time
  • Debates over abolition during the Revolutionary War
  • The importance of supply chains during the Revolutionary War
  • Reactions to the US Revolutionary war in Europe
  • How the US Revolutionary war impacted political theory in England and France
  • Similarities and differences between the US Revolutionary War and the French Revolution
  • Famous paintings inspired by the US Revolutionary War
  • Different ways that the US Revolutionary War has been depicted in modern contemporary culture
  • The appropriation of the “Boston Tea Party” by US politicians in the 2010s

This list could go on forever!

good research paper topics about the US Revolution

In fact, any of these topics could become even more specific. For example, check out the evolution of this topic:

  • Economic causes of the Revolutionary war
  • The way that tax policies helped lead to the Revolutionary War
  • How tax laws enacted 1763–1775 helped lead to the Revolutionary War
  • How the tax-free status of the British East India Company helped lead to the Revolutionary War
  • How the 1773 tax-free status of the British East India Company helped lead to the Revolutionary War, as reflected in letters written 1767–1775
  • How the 1773 tax-free status of the British East India Company helped lead to the Revolutionary War, as reflected in letters written by members of the Sons of Liberty 1767–1775

As you advance in your educational career, you’ll need to make your topic more and more specific. Steps 1–3 of this topic might be okay in high school, but for a college research paper steps 4–7 would be more appropriate!

As you craft your research paper topic, you should also keep in mind the availability of research materials on your subject. There are millions of topics that would make interesting research papers, but for which you yourself might not be able to investigate with the primary and secondary sources to which you have access.

Access to research materials might look like:

  • To the best of our knowledge, the sources exist somewhere
  • The source isn’t behind a paywall (or you or your school can pay for it)
  • Your school or local library has a copy of the source
  • Your school or local library can order a copy of the source for you
  • The source is in a language that you speak
  • The source has been published already (there’s tons of amazing research that hasn’t been published yet, a frustrating problem!)
  • You can access the archive, museum, or database where the primary source is held—this might mean online access or travel! To access a source in an archive or museum you’ll often need permission, which often requires a letter of support from your school.

If you’re not sure about access to source materials, talk to a librarian! They’re professionals for this question.

Finally, pick a research topic that interests you! Given that there are unlimited research topics in the world and many ways to adapt a broad topic, there should absolutely be a way to modify a research topic to fit your interests.

To enquire about receiving books for review, please contact [email protected] .

Journal of General Management is quarterly peer reviewed journal, with a mission to provide thought leadership by publishing articles on managerial practices with organisation-wide or cross-functional implications. We seek original theoretical and practical insights into general management in all types of organisations.

How to Choose Marketing Management Research Paper Topics

Choosing the right research paper topic can be a daunting task, especially in a field as broad and dynamic as marketing management. A well-chosen topic can be the difference between a research paper that’s engaging and insightful, and one that falls flat. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you choose the ideal marketing management research paper topic:

Selecting a research paper topic in marketing management is not merely about picking something that seems interesting. It’s about aligning the topic with your interests, the course requirements, the targeted audience, and the current trends in the field. Here’s how to navigate this complex decision-making process:

  • Identify Your Interests : Choose a topic that genuinely excites you. Whether it’s digital marketing or consumer behavior, aligning with your interests will make the research process more engaging.
  • Consider the Relevance : Make sure the topic is relevant to your course and the current landscape of marketing management. Trending topics like social media advertising or AI in marketing might be more appealing.
  • Check the Availability of Resources : Research the availability of credible sources on the topic. Libraries, academic journals, and online databases should have ample material for your chosen subject.
  • Assess the Complexity : Balance complexity with your level of expertise. A topic that’s too simple may lack depth, while something too complex might be overwhelming.
  • Align with Your Career Goals : If you have specific career goals in marketing, select a topic that adds value to your professional development.
  • Evaluate the Scope : Define the scope of your research. A too broad topic will lack focus, while a narrow topic might lack content.
  • Seek Guidance from Professors or Experts : Don’t hesitate to consult with professors or industry experts. They can provide insights that align with academic expectations and industry trends.
  • Consider Ethical Implications : If your topic involves sensitive issues like consumer privacy, ensure that you approach it with the necessary ethical considerations.
  • Analyze Existing Research : Look at existing research to identify gaps or areas for further exploration. Building on previous work can add depth to your paper.
  • Create a Preliminary Thesis Statement : Once you’ve narrowed down your topic, create a preliminary thesis statement. This will guide your research and keep you focused on specific aspects of the subject.

Choosing the right topic for a marketing management research paper is a critical step in the research process. It sets the tone for the entire project and can greatly influence the quality and relevance of the work. By following these tips and giving careful thought to aspects such as interest, relevance, complexity, scope, and ethics, you can select a topic that not only meets academic requirements but also resonates with your passions and professional aspirations.

Remember, the chosen topic is not just a subject of study but a chance to contribute to the field, offering insights or solutions to existing challenges. Engage with the process, explore various avenues, and you’ll find a topic that’s not just suitable but truly inspiring and rewarding to work on.

Why is writing essays so hard?

Patterns and boring topics imposed by schools and universities are not very conducive to creativity and human development. Such essays are very difficult to write, because many are not interested in this and do not see the meaning of the text. There are a number of criteria that make it impossible to write essays:

  • Boring and incomprehensible topics. Many topics could be more interesting, but teachers formulate them in a way that makes you want to yawn.
  • Templates. 90% do not know how to make an essay interesting, how to turn this detailed answer to a question into a living story.
  • Fear of not living up to expectations. It seems to many that the essay is stupid and that they simply did not understand the question. There is a fear of getting a bad mark and disappointing the professor, parents and classmates. There is a fear of looking stupid and embarrassing in front of the team.
  • Lack of experience. People don't know what and how to write about. In order to make a good essay, you need to have a perfect understanding of the topic and have the skills of a writer.

That is why the company EssaysWriting provides its services. We remove the responsibility for the result from the clients and do everything to ensure that the scientific work is recognized.
