Poliemera 2 has been making a lot of noise in the last few days. The film is the sequel to the OTT release Polimera and has been released in theatres today. Let’s review it here.

Story: The story picks up from its predecessor, revolving around Jangaiah(Baladitya), an honest police officer investigating the mysterious disappearance of his brother, Komaraiah(Satyam Rajesh), suspected of delving into black magic in the village of Jastipalli, leading to several deaths. As Jangaiah digs deeper, suspicions rise, particularly as Komaraiah’s family withdraws support. The narrative unfolds with the entry of the newly appointed Sub-Inspector, Ravindra Nayak, revealing startling connections between Komaraiah and an ancient temple in Jastipalli and the renowned Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Kerala. The movie presents a series of captivating twists and turns.

Performances: Satyam Rajesh excels once more in his portrayal of the enigmatic Komaraiah, showcasing versatility and intensity in his performance. Rakendu Mouli’s role as the investigating officer, Kamakshi Bhaskarala’s portrayal of Komaraiah’s wife, and the supporting cast all contribute well to the film’s performance. Baladitya was also neat in his role. The performances in the film is what catches the imagination of many.

Technical Aspects: Gyaani delivers the perfect background score, intensifying the atmosphere and enhancing even the most mundane moments. The cinematography, while acceptable, leaves room for improvement given the rich settings and context. The editing, though not flawless, manages to navigate the complex storytelling, earning some leniency. However, the writing falls short of expectations, especially when considering the historical significance of the temple backdrop.

Analysis: For those who haven’t seen the previous film, this repetitive approach becomes confusing and wearisome. In the sequel, the director hints at a tantalizing temple mystery but barely scratches the surface of its potential depths. A more profound exploration of this enigmatic temple could have provided a far more captivating storyline. Instead, the director primarily prioritizes forging links between past occurrences and present developments.

The film’s pace starts leisurely but gains momentum in the first half, maintaining intensity into the second half. However, the rushed climax hints at a potential third part, leaving room for a more satisfying ending. What initially captivates the audience in Maa Oori Polimera 2 is its intriguing premise. The story unfolds with a brisk pace, sparking anticipation as it ventures into relatively unexplored territory.

However, as the narrative develops, this initial intrigue gradually turns into a source of frustration. The plot becomes overly dense, with rapid shifts in time and a convoluted timeline that leaves viewers perplexed. Much of the film is intricately connected to its predecessor, leading to extensive reinterpretation of scenes from the first installment in a new context.

Verdict: On the whole, the narrative of Polimera 2 is decent, but a more engaging screenplay in the first half could have significantly elevated the film’s overall allure. Nevertheless, Polimera 2 has been made on a decent note has passable thrills, and can be given a shot once if you have nothing else to do.

Rating: 2.5/5

Bottom Line – Decent Dark Thriller

Maa Oori Polimera Movie Review

Release Date : December 14,2021

123telugu.com Rating : 2.75/5

Starring: Satyam Rajesh, Bala Aditya, Dr. Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Getup Srinu, Ravi Varma, Chitram Srinu

Director: Dr. Anil Vishwanath

Producers: Bhogendra Gupta

Music Director: Gyaani

Cinematography : Jagan Chavali

Editor: K.S. Rajasekaran

Maa Oori Polimera is the latest direct to OTT outing from Tollywood. The film has Satyam Rajesh in the lead role and it is billed to be a rustic drama. Here is our review of the film.

Komarayya, Balji, and Jangayya are brothers who reside in a rural area in Telangana. Their lives take a turn for the worst after the sudden passing away of their village’s sarpanch. What is the mystery behind the death of the sarpanch? How does it ll affect the lives of the aforementioned individuals and their families?

Plus Points:

The rustic setup that plays an integral role in the narrative has been presented well. The atmospherics add to the essence of the film. The murder mystery plot has moments of brilliance. The twists in the tale keep the audience hooked to an extent.

The film is powered by fine performances from the lead cast. Satyam Rajesh delivers a superb performance in the central role. The background score is riveting and it maintains the momentum of the proceedings on screen. The film is technically sleek.

Minus Points:

The film gets off to a rather poor start. The scenes pertaining to the establishment of oppression of women in the village don’t make for a good viewing to the family audiences. Also, the screenplay is patchy. Almost every gripping scene is followed by a bland set of sequences.

Maa Oori Polimera, to an extent deals with the concept of black magic and it doesn’t necessarily strike a chord with all sections of the audience. It caters only to a selected section of OTT audience.

Technical Aspects:

The director Anil Viswanath picks a raw and rustic subject and he gets it right as far as the murder mystery goes. He narrates the thrilling sequences with good conviction. But the drama surrounding the same is not upto the mark. A handful of bland sequences dampen the screenplay every now and again. The cinematography and background score are of very good quality. The runtime is crisp.

Maa Oori Polimera is a mixed bag. It has its moment of brilliance when it comes to the murder mystery plot. But the drama isn’t sustained through the course of the film. It doesn’t make for a good viewership for the family audience, owing to the adult content. But if you like realistic drama, you might give it a try.

Maa Oori Polimera 2 Review: What's Behind

Satyam Rajesh's Maa Oori Polimera 2 has been capturing the imagination of all ever since its announcement. This because, the film is the sequel to the hit film Maa Oori Polimera. Maa Ooori Polimera which streamed on OTT turned out to be a silent hit. The  makers buoyed by its success announced that the film will release in theatres. The film directed by ANil Vishwanath hit the screens today in theatres. Let us find out whether Maa Oori Polimera 2 thrilled viewers or not.

Maa Oori Polimera 2 (2023) Movie: Story Review

Maa Oori Polimera 2 picks up right where its predecessor left off. The story revolves around Jangaiah (Baladitya), an upright police officer determined to uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of his brother, Komaraiah (Satyam Rajesh). Komaraiah is suspected of being involved in the dark arts of black magic and witchcraft, allegedly responsible for several deaths in the village of Jastipalli.

As Jangaiah delves deeper into the investigation, suspicion mounts when Komaraiah's family, including his wife Lachimi (Kamakshi Bhaskarala) and Balija (Getup Srinu), suddenly withdraw their support at the last moment. Amidst this perplexing scenario, the newly appointed Sub-Inspector, Ravindra Nayak (Rakendu Mouli), uncovers startling revelations about Komaraiah and the ancient temple in Jastipalli, which has intriguing connections to the world-famous Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Kerala. These discoveries set the stage for a series of captivating twists and turns in the narrative.

Maa Oori Polimera 2 Telugu Movie: Artists Review

Satyam Rajesh once again showcases his remarkable versatility as an actor, seamlessly slipping into the challenging role presented to him by the filmmakers. Continuing from where he left off in the first part, he portrays the enigmatic character of Komaraiah, a practitioner of black magic and witchcraft who strives to achieve his dreams. Throughout the film, his character's innocent facade often deceives viewers, eliciting sympathy. Satyam Rajesh's performance is marked by a high level of intensity, accompanied by powerful expressions and emotions. His ability to adapt his body language to the role and deliver dialogue with precision is truly commendable.

Rakendu Mouli, in the role of the investigating officer, delivers a solid performance. He aptly fits the role of a police officer and handles his dialogues with ease. Kamakshi Bhaskarala, playing Satyam Rajesh's wife, skillfully portrays the character's caring and longing demeanor while revealing her inner strength when confronted with the harsh reality. Additionally, the supporting cast, including Baladitya, Getup Srinu, Chitram Sreenu, and Ravi Varma, do justice to their respective roles, enhancing the overall performance of the film.

Maa Oori Polimera 2 Telugu Film: Technicians Review

Maa Oori Polimera 2, a story penned by Anil Vishwanath that continues the narrative from the first installment, delves deeper into the character of Satyam Rajesh. Through his storytelling, screenplay, and direction, Anil Vishwanath manages to maintain the audience's interest for the majority of the film's duration. However, there are instances of illogical scenes scattered throughout, which temporarily disrupt the narrative flow.

The film opens at a leisurely pace, almost resembling a recap of the preceding Maa Oori Polimera. Yet, as the initial segment concludes, the narrative gains momentum, leading to an engaging first half. This momentum carries into the second half, maintaining the intensity.

Nevertheless, despite a poignant pre-climax that beautifully explores the emotions of Satyam Rajesh and his wife Kamakshi, the climax feels rushed. Anil Vishwanath wraps up the film while hinting at a third part, but a more intense climax could have delivered a more satisfying outcome.

Gyaani's background score deserves special mention, elevating the overall impact of the movie. His music takes the film to new heights and resonates powerfully with the audience. Kushender Ramesh Reddy's cinematography captures the beauty of Kerala and the village settings exceptionally well, portraying the natural and supernatural elements with intensity. Sri Vaara's editing effectively maintains the narrative's pace, ensuring a smooth viewing experience. The dialogues are well-crafted, and the production values are commendable.

Satyam Rajesh's stellar performance and Anil Vishwanath's commendable screenplay and direction elevate the film to new heights. Viewers must approach this sequel with an open mind and avoid comparing it to the first installment. The storyline is engaging, and the director has meticulously tied up any loose ends. Notably, the thought-provoking dialogues in the pre-climax about the significance of education resonate with a wide audience. Taking all these aspects into account, Cinejosh rates Maa Oori Polimera 2 with a solid 2.5 out of 5 stars .

Maa Oori Polimar 2 Review: Occult Thriller With Ups And Downs

Maa Oori Polimar 2 Review: Occult Thriller With Ups And Downs

Movie: Maa Oori Polimera 2 Rating: 2.5/5 Banner: Shree Krishna Creations Cast: Satyam Rajesh, Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Getup Srinu, Baladitya, Chitram Seenu, Ravi Varma, Rakendu Mouli, Sahiti Dasari and others. Music: Gyaani DOP: Kushedar Ramesh Reddy Editor: Sree Vara Producer: Gowr Kriesna Written and Directed by: Dr. Anil Vishwanath Release Date: Nov 03, 2023

Many OTT movies gained popularity after the lockdown period. "Maa Oori Polimera" is one of them. A sequel has now been made, and it opted for theatrical release.

Let’s see its merits and demerits.

Story: The film, which is set in Jastipalli village, discusses a nearby temple established by the Travancore royal dynasty. The temple is said to have secret chambers where gold and other valuables were seized many centuries ago via Nagabandhanam. Only Komraiah (Satyam Rajesh) can undo Nagabandhanam because he has been versed in the occult rites required.

However, he has vanished from his village. Jangaiah (Baladitya), his brother, and a police officer are looking for him. Jangaiah's friend (Getup Srinu) visits Sabarimala and encounters Komraiah.

What brings Komraiah to Kerala? Who is Kavitha that is with him? What is the true mystery?

Artistes’ Performances: Satyam Rajesh's performance as Komraiah is good. He doesn't say much in the film, instead relying on his expressions.

Dr. Kamakshi Bhaskarla is apt as Lakshmi.

Getup Seenu is given a substantial character. Baladitya as Satyam Rajesh’s younger brother is okay.

Rakendumouli did his part well as the Cop. Had he maintained fitness, he would have looked more convincing in the uniform role. He has good timing and body language that bestows commendable screen presence.

But other actors show bad acting. All actors have failed to get the Telangana slang right.

Technical Excellence: The film has rich production and technical values. The background score and sound mixing is quite effective. Cinematography complements the mood of the film. The dialogues however lack strength.

Highlights: Couple of twists and turns Production values Climax

Drawback: Too much of black magic Scenes drag on

Analysis "Maa Oori Polimera 2" is the sequel to the 2021 OTT film "Maa Oori Polimera." The first part focussed on black magic. The second part similarly discusses occult rituals, but this time it's about hidden treasures beneath temples. As consequently, "Polimera" becomes an adventure thriller in the vein of "Karthikeya 2" rather than an occult thriller.

The beginning sequences do not thrill as it attempts to connect the events of the first part to the current story, and it takes a long time to return to the present story. The repeated flashback stories weaken the tone as well. The film really becomes interesting when the flashback about Kavitha and Komraiah is revealed just before the interval.

The interval sequence piques the viewers’ curiosity in the story's second half. Before the climax, the film presents further twists and turns. So the second half appears to be better than the first. However, the director's attempt to turn it into a franchise confuses us even more about the climax. The director then leaves the story open for the third installment.

The ambiance and atmosphere of the plot are the film's main appealing elements. The major flaws are the absence of exciting moments and the lengthy narrative. The plot twists and turns appear little contrived.

Overall, "Maa Oori Polimara 2" has some engaging moments and keeps our attention with its twists and turns, but it ends up being more of an occult thriller. There aren't enough theatrical experience moments.

Bottom line: Engaging But Not Enticing

Maa Oori Polimera 2 review: A creepy yet a nailbiting sequel with an overdose of twists, flashbacks

Satyam Rajesh, Kamakshi Bhaskarla headline a formidable thriller where everyone isn't who they claim to be

Maa Oori Polimera 2 review: A creepy yet a nailbiting sequel with an overdose of twists, flashbacks

Last Updated: 02.14 PM, Nov 03, 2023

A married auto driver Komaraiah, after eloping with Kavitha, settles down in Kerala. Back in his village Jastipalli, his friends and family have no clue of his wherabouts. Komaraiah's brother Jangaiah, a constable, is nowhere to be found in the village either. A series of mysterious deaths around an abandoned temple creates tension among the locals. Ravindra Naik, a newly appointed cop, is out to find answers.

Dr Anil Vishwanath, who made the spine-chilling Maa Oori Polimera, returns with its sequel, dangerously toeing around the thin line between telling a story about superstitions, black magic and not glorifying them. Bolstered by the confidence of the predecessor's popularity, the sequel is wilder, grander and is on a mission to keep throwing the viewer off guard with its twists, flashbacks. Yet, there's enough meat in the thriller to ensure a compelling big screen experience.

image_item

The makers are clearly aware that a majority of their target audience may not be aware of its prequel's existence. In the initial half an hour, there's enough time to soak in the world of black magic, rigid religious beliefs, infidelity, an abandoned temple and its hidden treasures. Given its expansive world, there's a lot of backstories that a first-time viewer may find it hard to process. The screenplay is intentionally mysterious to create more impact with the explosive twists in the latter half.

Also read: HanuMan to Gangs Of Godavari, Polimera 2 and more: Telugu films celebrate victory of good over evil

The film starts like an investigative thriller and keeps alternating between Komaraiah's past and his wife Laxmi's present. In the subplot revolving around the cursed temple and its riches, there's enough attention to detail. What connects Komaraiah to his belief in black magic and the temple's legacy? The director is guarded with the characterisation and times his revelations masterfully, ensuring that the narrative never loses its steam.

To ensure he stays true to the world of the film and sustains its tension, the director goes slightly overboard in depicting nuances of black magic. With the dense material, complex characters and their flashbacks, the viewer is left confused at times and loses track of the narrative. The film is restlessly packed with events - most of them come with a purpose and enrich the viewing experience, but you wish the storytelling relied less on its shock value and offered more breathing space.

The fascinating aspect of Maa Oori Polimera 2 is the absence of any do-gooder or larger-than-life characters. You are not burdened to root for the protagonist and get to witness a story from multiple tangents, a rarity in Telugu cinema. Unlike its prequel, the canvas is bigger and the technical finesse contributes to its appeal. Polimera 2, on the contrary, lacks the groundedness and the simplicity of the first part.

Barring the mumbo-jumbo around the superstitions, the director is aware and in control of his craft. Unlike Virupaksha, that nearly justified pre-medieval beliefs and dogmas, you sense a genuine effort to confront problematic rituals, practices. For every Komaraiah, there's a Balija and a Laxmi who confront his ideas. The beautifully staged pre-climax sequence explains the storyteller's intent. Raising the stakes, there's a promise for a third instalment too.

If the first part provided each of its actors adequate scope to shine, the sequel is an out-and-out Satyam Rajesh show. He's not new to grey roles but the absolute conviction and the authority with which he pulls off Komaraiah showcases a newer, untapped dimension to the actor. Kamakshi Bhaskarla surrenders to the part of a progressive rural wife and registers a terrific impact with her screen presence despite the minimal screen time.

The strong lineup comprising Getup Srinu, Rakendu Mouli, Chitram Seenu, Ravi Varma, Janardhan drive the story forward commendably. The runtime, at just over 2 hours, is perfect for the genre and the world of the film. A bulk of Maa Oori Polimera 2 may revolve around archaic beliefs but Anil Vishwanath's story is important because of how he choses to condemn them in a cinematically convincing manner.

Watch Gadar 2 on OTTplay by subscribing to the Jhakaas pack which provides access to 16 OTTs at just Rs 199/month.

Maa Oori Polimera 2 has all the ingredients to entice a thriller-junkie with a restless, twist-a-minute screenplay (with an overdose of flashbacks) backed by commendable performances. Watch out for Satyam Rajesh, Kamakshi Bhaskarla's work. If the first part proved Anil Vishwanath's worth as a writer, the sequel asserts his arrival as a capable filmmaker too.

Music - Gyaani

“Maa Oori Polimera,” which was confined to an OTT release two years ago, did garner attention. Given this partial success, the makers have now come up with a sequel, aiming to cater to a larger audience by releasing it in theaters. The film is generating more buzz than its previous installment, and the trailer has piqued curiosity. Will this sequel live up to the hype and draw audiences? Let’s find out.

What is it about?

Set in the superstitious village of Jasthipalli, police constable Jangaiah (Baladitya) goes missing. His elder brother Komuraiah (Satyam Rajesh) was involved in black magic and is suspected to be dead. The arrival of the new SI, Ravindra Naik (Rakendu Mouli), brings the focus on Jangaiah’s disappearance. As he tries to unravel the mystery surrounding Komuraiah and Jangaiah, shocking details are uncovered. Komuraiah’s actions are directly linked to the closed Lord Vishnu temple and the treasure beneath it. How is black magic involved, and what’s the mystery? “Maa Oori Polimera 2” has some answers to these questions and saves some for part 3.

Performances:

Director Anil sticks to the original cast of the film. Satyam Rajesh, Baladitya, and Getup Sreenu have done justice to their roles. Satyam Rajesh shines in his author-backed role. Kamakshi Bhaskarla’s role is downplayed and holds a surprise towards the end. Acting-wise, there is nothing to find fault with. Getup Sreenu’s wife, Ramula, and her flashback are a bit disconnected and unconvincing. The villain scenes are routine and weak. A corporate villain gang going after the temple treasure is nostalgic and has been done to death before.

Technicalities:

Director Anil Viswanath knows his limitations and strengths when making a sequel. A handful of twists contribute to the quality of the writing. However, from a technical perspective, it falls short. The cinematography and VFX portions could be improved. The film’s narrative, especially during the last part, is not as gripping as it is in the previous sections. The repeated screenplay is a drawback, but the background music hits the right notes.

Thrilling Elements Twists & Story Treatment

Thumbs Down:

Incomplete Temple Treasure Mystery Unwanted Flashbacks & Repeated Screenplay Dragged Climax Portion

Thriller is a solid genre with a dedicated audience base. Films like “Virupaksha,” “Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada,” “Karthikeya,” and, to some extent, “Karthikeya 2” (treasure-hunt) have successfully explored the genre. Director Anil Viswanath attempts this genre and aims to achieve a similar feat, but he is only partially successful in this attempt. While he has decent writing with twists, he falls short of delivering a truly gripping thriller.

Anil Viswanath chose an intriguing plot and built a compelling story around it. He successfully incorporated thrilling elements and twists. The treatment of the film sets its tone and mood, with the background score effectively supporting the intense visuals. The scene where Komuraiah is surrounded by a group of snakes is spine-chilling, and the black magic scenes are captivating. However, the director includes some unnecessary flashback episodes, particularly the one involving Ramula, which is portrayed in an unconvincing manner and disconnects the viewers. The repeated screenplay feels overdone and may put off the audience.

There is a lag in narration towards the end of the film. The climax portion is dragged and delayed, and the director doesn’t fully resolve the mystery surrounding the temple treasury. The villain portions are left unaddressed. Despite these shortcomings, the writing prioritizes logic, and all the dots are connected.

In conclusion, “Maa Oori Polimera 2” is a decent thriller with potential to grow, but it falls short of creating a truly gripping experience. Those familiar with “Maa Oori Polimera” may find some satisfaction, but the film leaves the audience craving for a more captivating thriller.

Bottom Line: Not Gripping

Rating: 2.25/5

‘Poolman’ Review: In the Sun Too Long

Chris Pine’s shaggy debut feature has a charismatic cast that rambles along with him on a Los Angeles detective adventure.

  • Share full article

Three actors look into a camera. In the center is Chris Pine, wearing a folded hat, a red bandanna and a striped shirt.

By Nicolas Rapold

In “Poolman,” Chris Pine’s debut feature, he plays Darren, a distractible pool cleaner who becomes an amateur detective when he learns of a municipal conspiracy in Los Angeles. The sure-why-not plot, modeled on the California water grab in “Chinatown,” is less interesting than the charismatic cast that rambles along with Pine on his excellent adventure.

Pine’s yarn was savaged when it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, but the sour response is a bit like getting mad at a golden retriever for rolling around in the grass. A shaggy civic gadfly, Darren grandstands at City Council meetings and becomes so self-absorbed that he forgets what his girlfriend (Jennifer Jason Leigh) does for a living. His Jungian psychiatrist, Diane (Annette Bening), and her story-spouting filmmaker hubby, Jack (Danny DeVito), look after him like foster parents, while apparently overseeing some kind of movie about his life.

Darren is clued into the unnecessarily confusing water scheme by June (DeWanda Wise, glamorous and gorgeously costumed), who’s an assistant to his nemesis on the City Council (Stephen Tobolowsky). But the amateur sleuthing through Los Angeles landmarks — smartly shot on film by Matthew Jensen (“Wonder Woman”) — plays second fiddle to what’s really a collection of warm character sketches and mild eccentricities punctuated by meditative visions.

Pine wisely avoids winks to the audience. But he whiffs at making the mystery especially gripping, leaving one instead to savor the moments, like a note-perfect Bening calmly talking Pine’s befuddled pool man through his latest setback.

Poolman Not rated. Running time: 1 hour 40 minutes. In theaters.

Emilia Perez Reviews

polimera movie review rating

Emilia Perez wins you over by being unabashedly sincere. It takes its mission in all of its various genres—musical, crime thriller, and soap opera—seriously thanks to the committed performances and Audiard’s expressive direction.

Full Review | May 22, 2024

Yes, this is a hard-boiled and bloody cartel thriller with a transgender twist. Oh, and it’s a musical.

Full Review | Original Score: 4/5 | May 21, 2024

... The film hurtles towards a gun-toting, explosive finale that will be as polarising as everything else.

Emilia Pérez is the craziest, most dizzying, fun and exciting film. [Full review in Spanish]

Beyond sensitivities and ideological perspectives, the truth is that, at 72 years old, the prestigious French director shows signs of freedom, ambition, and commitment to taking risks and that must be celebrated. [Full review in Spanish]

It's Karla Sofía Gascón as Emilia Pérez who steals the show with a magnetic screen presence you can't tear your eyes away from.

Full Review | Original Score: 6/10 | May 21, 2024

... The central theme is not the world of drug traffickers. On the contrary, in Emilia Pérez we run towards the roots of evil, to a world where the confrontation between toxic men and women is threatening and profound. [Full review in Spanish]

A musical for our time indeed.

Full Review | Original Score: 5/5 | May 20, 2024

And despite everything, the film pulls the viewer into its spiral of teeming affections, insurmountable sisterhood, and sublime redemptions. [Full review in Spanish]

With Emilia Pérez, [Audiard] has made something fresh, full of vitality and affecting, held aloft by its own quietly soaring power.

Full Review | May 20, 2024

Saldaña and Gomez deliver forceful performances (both in Spanish), but even they are outflanked by Gascón. A miraculous movie.

The plot of this thing is all kinds of idiotic, never wanting to justify itself as outwardly kitsch melodrama, but never coherent or serious enough to make any of its emotion transcend the soap operatic.

polimera movie review rating

For as patently fierce as it tries to be, it has no bite, no intrigue, no grip on the viewer.

Full Review | Original Score: D | May 20, 2024

polimera movie review rating

Even at its most unwieldy, Jacques Audiard’s cinematic skill and Zoe Saldana‘s at times dazzling performance make it hard to ignore.

Full Review | Original Score: C+ | May 20, 2024

I wondered at certain points if the musical numbers functioned at some level as an alibi, to pre-empt objections about being the film being contrived. Gascon, though, carries it off with queenly flair.

Full Review | Original Score: 3/5 | May 20, 2024

A more than risky conceit, but Audiard's steadfast refusal to play it as a joke -- this is sincere, sentimental filmmaking -- proves wholly winning.

polimera movie review rating

A compelling odyssey of mixed tropes which coalesce into a film not only vigorous but bold. In its own blunt way, the film exemplifies the enhancing power of what musicals can be.

polimera movie review rating

The result is both exhilarating and exasperating, swinging so wildly all over the map that you may want to pre-emptively wear a neckbrace before viewing.

polimera movie review rating

Emilia Pérez transcends its unconventional premise to deliver a poignant exploration of ambition, morality, and the consequences of our choices, and above all, a passionate hymn to music in cinema.
