Khatm e Nabuwat

Khatme nabuwat, finality of the prophet of sayyidunah hazrat muhammad (sallaho alahi wasallam).

Risalah or belief in prophethood is one of the seven articles of faith. Prophethood is the channel of communication between God Almighty and humanity, this is the medium through which the human being is able to understand the reason for creation, and realise the will of the creator. Through this medium the humans understand and comprehend the magnitude of benefit in applying the will of the Lord and severity of detriment in neglecting it. As Muslims God has ordained for us to believe in all prophets from Adam to Jesus, culminating in the belief in Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) as the messenger to all mankind regardless of colour, race, tongue or ethnicity. The belief in the Prophethood of The Beloved, The Most Noble Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) is incomplete, deficient and curtailed unless one believes that he is the Final Prophet of God and there is to be no Prophet after him. The slightest denial or defiance of this fundamental is sufficient to cast one out the fold of Islam and throw one into the camp of kufr and apostasy.

This brief article wishes to provide the reader with adequate proof for belief in the finality of the prophethood of Hazrat Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) and show that He is the final and the last Prophet of Allah and there is to be no new prophet after him.

As this is a matter of aqeedah (dogma), we must begin with highlighting the sources of law, which are acceptable when determining aqeedah qatiya (belief which is certain and necessary in order for one to be classified as a Muslim). Therefore the mutakalimun (dialectics) say that aqeedah can only be formulated from a source that is Qat’i-ul-thabut (definite in text) and Qat’i-ud-dalalah (definite in meaning).

This means that there must be certainty that the source of the belief is from Allah or his Messenger, hence definite in text. Secondly the source must be unequivocal, unambiguous and explicit in what is being said. An example of this is the belief in tawhid, the oneness of Allah. It is mentioned amongst other places, in Surah Ikhlas, (Say, He is Allah) states in Almuhkam that the words Khatim and Khatamah with regards to everything means its end and its termination. This verse is an unequivocal statement from the Qur’an, which states that Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) has concluded the line of prophets, and that he is the last and final Prophet of God.

Finality of Prophethood and Coming of Jesus in the Last Days:

A question arises here, we all believe that in the lasy days before doomsday, Jesus Christ Peace be upon him will descend to the World again, lead the Muslim army aggainst the Kuffar and Dajjal, Kill Dajjal the Antichrist and bring all misguidance to an end. The question is, does the reappearance of Jesus Christ, who was a prophet to the Israelites, negate the finality of the prophethood of Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam).

This question has been raised and answered by numerous exegesists of the Quran, hence Allamah Zamahshari the great Muttazilite Scholar and a grand lexicon states in his Tafsir Kasshaf: Imam Baydhawi raises the same question and states: The answer to the above objection in light of the scholars is that the Holy Prophet Muhammad’s being the last prophet means that nobody would be appointed as a prophet after him; it does not imply that somebody who was appointed a prophet earlier and prior to the birth of Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) would be dismissed from his prophethood or that such a prophet would not be able to return to this world. It is well known that Christ was appointed a prophet 600 or so years prior to the birth of our noble prophet.

Furthermore when Christ, peace be upon him, does return for the reformation of the Ummah of the Holy Prophet, he will carry out the reform and revival in accordance with the laws and the teachings of the holy Prophet. and would not bring down or implement a new law alien to the Sharia of Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam), as if he is actually an ummati one. Now this is a verse from the Quran, therefore it is certainly from Allah; hence it is definite in text. Also it is unequivocal or uncertainty with regards to the meaning. Now if anyone were to believe in more that one God would automatically step out of the fold of Islam, as this would be denial of a fundamental belief that is proven by a definite text that is definite in meaning. Hence belief of the above mentioned type an only be proven by a clear verse of the Holy Prophet of Islam, (a statement of the Prophet narrated by such a number of companions and narrators through the generations that it would be impossible for them to all agree on a lie). All other types of evidences which do not measure up to the above criteria can however be used in a supportive capacity. Having set the scene, let us now analyse the belief that Prophet Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) is the last prophet of Allah and there is to be no other Prophet after him.

Proof from the Qur’an that our Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) is the final Prophet of Allah:

Surah 33 Verse 40

”Muhammad is not a father of any of your men, but he is a messenger of Allah and the last of the prophets”.

In this verse the Holy Prophet (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) has been mentioned as Khatam ul Nabiyeen, translated as last of the Prophets. There are two ways to read the word Khatam, Imams Hasan and Asim read the word as Khatam whereas other leading scholars read it as Khatim. The meaning remains the same in both cases, that is the last of the prophets’. In both the cases the word means the last as well as the seal. The meaning of the seal is also the last because the seal is applied to something when it is intended to be closed. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) has been called the seal of the prophets because the process of sending prophets has come to an end on his advent.

All the famous lexicons of the Arabic language have affirmed the fact that the words, Khatim and Khatam carry the same meaning in this sentence. Hence Ibn Sidah or follower of Hazrat Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam). As a final statement on this verse we quote Hafiz Ibn Kathir who states:

‘ Allah has told us in His Book, and His Messenger has told us in the Mutawatir Sunnah, that there will be no Prophet after him, so that it may be known that everyone who claims this status after him is a liar and fabricator who is misguided and is misguiding others. Even if he twists meanings, comes up with false claims and uses tricks and vagaries, all of this is false and is misguidance as will be clear to those who have understanding. This is what Allah caused to happen in the case of Al-Aswad Al-Ansi in the Yemen and Musaylimah the liar in Al-Yamamah whose false miracles and nonsensical words showed everyone who was possessed of understanding that they were liars who were leading people astray; may the curse of Allah be upon them both. This is the case with every false Prophet until the Day of Resurrection, until they end with Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal (the Antichrist).

Each of these liars is given by Allah signs which show the people of knowledge and the believers that his message is false which is part of the perfect kindness of Allah towards His creation. These liars do not enjoin what is good, nor forbid what is evil, unless they do so by coincidence or because it serves an ulterior purpose. They are the utmost in falsehood and immorality, in all that they say and do, as Allah says: Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin descend They descend on every lying, sinful person.) (26:221-222) This is in contrast to the Prophets – may blessings and peace be upon them – for they are the utmost in righteousness, truthfulness, wisdom, uprightness and justice in all that they say and do, command and forbid. In addition to this they are supported with miracles and clear and obvious proof. May the blessings and peace of Allah be upon them always, as long as heaven and earth remain. From this verse 40 of surah 33 the entire Ummah has unanimously understood that Prophet Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) is the last Prophet of Allah and there will never be a Prophet after him ever.

Finality of the Prophethood of Hazrat Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) from Hadith:

The above mentioned statement of Ibn Kathir conveniently brings us to analysing the Finality of Hazrat Muhammad’s Finality from the hadith literature. Muslims Scholars have compiled books listing over 200 statements from the Prophet, which unequivocally state that he is the Final Prophet of Allah and there is to be no Prophet after him. We will only mention a few of the ahadith for the benefit of our readers.

The Holy Prophet (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) said ‘ The example of all the Prophets before me and of myself is like a man has built a very strong and well decorated house in one corner wall of which a space has been left vacant for one brick; people roam about in the house to see it and admire the construction but all of them say why did not the builder put a brick in that space also which would have completed the construction. I am that last brick (of the palace of prophethood). In some versions he said ‘I have filled up that vacant space and thus completed the palace of Prophethood’. (Narrated By Bukhari, Muslim and Tirmizi From Jabir Bin Abdullah Ansari. Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal and Tirmizi From Ubai Bin Ka’b. Imam Muslim and Ahmad Bin Hanbal from Abu Saeed Khudri).

The gist of this eloquent smile is that prophethood is like a grand palace composed of Prophets. This grand palace was complete in all respects before the Holy Prophet (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) except for the placement of one brick. The Holy Prophet (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) completed this grand palace by filling up the vacant space for one brick. Now there is no more space for any Prophet or Messenger in the palace of Prophethood. Any additional brick to a magnificently constructed buliding would be considered an eyesore just as one brick less would be considered a matter of surprise.

Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal recorded that Anas Bin Malik said that the Holy Prophet (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) said: ‘Messengership and Prophethood have come to an end, and there will be no More Messengers or Prophets. This worried the people, then he said: But there will be Al-Mubashshirat. They said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, whar are Al-Mubashshirat’ He said, the dreams of a Muslim man, and they are one of the parts of Prophethood’. Tirmizi also records this Hadith.

Abu Hurairah said that the Holy Prophet (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) said: ‘I have been given preference over the other Prophets in six ways: I have been given the ability to speak concisely; I have been aided by fear (cast into the hearts of my enemies); the spoils of war have been made permissible for me; the entire earth has been made a Masjid and a means of purification for me; I have been sent to all of mankind; and the Prophets end with me’. This was recorded by Musim, Tirmizi and Ibn Majah; At-Tirmizi said, ‘It is Hasan Sahih’.

Jubayr Bin Mut’im, may Allah be pleased with him, said that he heard the Messenger of Allah say: I have several names: I am Muhammad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam), and I am Ahmad (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam), I am Al-Mahi (the eradicator) through whom Allah will erase disbelief; I am Al-Hashir (the gatherer) at whose feet mankind will gather; and I am Al-Aqib (the final one) after whom there will be no Prophet. Narrated By Bukhari and Muslim.

The above mentioned statements of the Holy Prophet (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) have shown beyond certainty that He (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) is the Final Prophet of Allah and there is to be no Prophet after him. Therefore belief in any new Prophet after the Holy Prophet (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) would amount to apostasy. In fact The Prophet himself has foretold us that there will false claimants to prophethood after him and we, as Muslims must reject every single one of them. Hence the Holy Prophet (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) stated: Thawban said that the Holy Prophet said, ‘In my ummah there shall be 30 liars, each will claim prophethood, and I am the Final Prophet, there is no Prophet after me’. Narrated by Ibn Mardwaih. It does not therefore surprise us that every now and then a liar rises and claims prophethood in some shape or form, for it has been foretold by one who has been given the knowledge of ma kaan wa ma yakoon (Knowledge of what is and what is to be) by his Lord Almighty, one who has never uttered a lie nor gone astray (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam).

The Muslim Community has overwhelmingly rejected every such claim of prophethood after our noble Prophet, for such a claim, or belief in it, is contrary to the fundamental Islamic belief that our noble Prophet is the last Prophet of Allah, as has been shown by the clearest evidence. We have and always will consider such claimant to be apostates, outside the fold of Islam, for they deny that which is proven by the most definite, clear and explict method, There is no ambiguity uncertainty with regards to the authenticity and necessity of this belief, hence there no hesitation in pronouncing one who rejects it in any form or shape, a Kaafir. In order to ensure conciseness we have left out numerous verses and ahadith of the Noble Prophet (Sallaho Alahi Wasallam) on this subject, at the same time we have not used other sources of evidence such as Ijma (consensus), analogical reasoning and statements of great scholars on this subject. May Allah make this effort as source of guidance for All. Aameen Bijahi Habibihil Kareem.

The Significance of Khatme-Nabuwwat

assignment on khatm e nabuwat in english

Islam enjoins upon the faithful a solid belief in the divine decree of Khatme-Nabuwwat (Finality of Prophethood) in last of the Messengers and the mercy to the Universe, hazrat Muhammad(SAW). This tenant of Islam is so essential that the slightest doubt in its validity may bring one’s faith to ruin. Those who guard their belief in this basic doctrine are surely protecting their faith in the religion of Allah(SWT).

Individuals who believe in the possibility of new Prophets after hazrat Muhammad(SAW) are, in effect, advancing the notion that the religion of Allah(SWT) is not perfect and are attempting to open the door for the possible alteration, corruption, or rejection of the message of Islam. Mirza Ghulam Qadiani of India, for instance, abrogated Jihad, introduced his own novel interpretation of Quranic verses (in defiance to authentic Hadith), and gave birth to a new faith he called ‘Ahmadiyyat’ . Hussain Ali (Bahaullah) of Iran modified the entire doctrine of Islam, replaced the Holy Quran with his own book, changed the direction of Qibla from Makkah al Mukarrama to Namka in Israel, and named this new faith ‘Bahaism’ .

It should be evident how the mere rejection of the doctrine of Khatme-Nabuwwat enabled misguided or opportunist individuals to challenge the believers from within and divert unsuspecting public from the religion of Allah(SWT).

The Holy Quran has made it abundantly clear, in more than one hundred of its verses, that no new Prophet or prophetic revelation will be sent. Over two hundred hadith (sayings of the holy Prophet(SAW)) further support this injunction of the Quranic Message. The Holy Quran, hadith and Tafseer have been consistent on this point since the advent of Islam. In addition, close companions of the holy Prophet, great scholars, and the entire Ummah have agreed on this basic tenant and consider it Kufr to entertain the possibility of Allah(SWT) commissioning any other Prophet.

The great Imam and founder of the Hanifa School of thought, Imam Abu Hanifa(RA), was so certain of this view that he decreed the very act of questioning a claimant (demanding proof or miracles) to be an act of disbelief in itself. Naturally, this fatwa was issued to stress the importance of an absolute belief in the Finality of Prophethood and to encourage all Muslims to defend this doctrine from corruption for all times.

Any Muslim would shrink from asking a claimant to divinity for proof; that claim very clearly contradicts the teachings of Islam. The very same level of confidence and belief is also required when we are faced with impostor prophets and Messiahs:

There can not be another god besides Allah(SWT) and there can not be another prophet after Muhammad(SAW).

Our duty to defend this basic tenant becomes evident when we review some of the brightest moments in Islamic history. The first rightly guided Caliph , Hazrat Abu Bakr(RA), waged a war against the impostor prophet Musailma, the Liar, despite the fact that the Muslim state was still in its infancy and without the needed resources. As the result of this war, 22000 followers of Musailma were eliminated; however, approximately 1200 precious Muslim lives -- including almost 600 Huffaz, Qaris, distinguished soldiers of Badr, and close Companions of the Holy Prophet(SAW) -- were also lost.

To appreciate these figures and understand the determination of early Muslims to protect the religion of Allah(SWT) from possible corruption, we will need to remember that, during the entire life of Rasool Allah(SAW), only 259 Muslim lives were lost in all the battles against the Kuffar . The non-believers had themselves suffered only 759 casualties. In short, our first Caliph, in unison with all the Companions ( Sahaba ), decreed that the impostor Prophet and his followers should not be allowed to spread their evil. Indeed, none of the companions rested until the complete elimination of the self proclaimed prophet and his followers. This decision of Hazrat Abu Bakr(RA) was so highly regarded, endorsed and accepted by the companions, that Hazrat Umar(RA) proposed an exchange with Hazrat Abu Bakr(RA). He said:

"I will exchange all good deeds of my life time for your acts of one night and one day. One night from those three nights you spent with Rasool Allah(SAW) in the Cave of Thaur and one day from the days of battles against impostor prophets to guard the Finality of Muhammad(SAW).”

Obviously, defending the Finality of Rasool Allah(SAW) should be of utmost importance for us: we should not even entertain the claims of false Messiahs and prophets who will appear from time to time.

It is a sad turn of events that some of our Muslim brothers, who claim to be liberal and broad minded, trivialize the significance and importance of the Islamic principal of Khatme-Nabuwwat and do not appreciate our duty to protect the Deen of Allah(SWT) from all enemies. We hope that this brief message has helped them realize the true message of Allah(SWT).

With Allah is Success and Peace of Allah be upon his Messenger Muhammad and his Followers and Companions.

khatme nabuwat (seal of the prophets) meaning in islam

Khatimun‐Nabiyyin  (means khatme nabuwat or seal of the prophets)   is an attribute of the Prophet Muhammad , which confirms that with his arrival the chain of Prophethood is complete and sealed; that there will be no prophet(s) after him.

Khatimun‐Nabiyyin meaning:

Khatimun‐Nabiyyīn meaning  is that Prophet Muammad (P.B.U.H)  is the Final Prophet from Allah  .. Anyone who denies this or attempts to expound a different meaning of Khatimun‐Nabiyyin , other than that which has been established by the ijma’ (consensus) of the Muslim Ummah , is not a Muslim. Anyone who claims to be a prophet is absolutely a liar. To even demand proof of one’s claim to Prophethood is unacceptable as it leaves open the possibility that such proof could even exist. Rasülullah prophesized that there will be many claiming to be prophets, but they will all be liars.  (means khatme nabuwat or seal of the prophets).

Adnan Oktar (Harun Yahya) As revealed in a verse of the Qur'an, "… Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah and the Final Seal of the Prophets." (Surat al-Ahzab: 40), the Prophet Muhammad (saas) was sent to mankind as the last prophet. He was a living example of the sublime morality of Allah's last revelation. He was a friend of Allah and inspired humanity by his nearness to Him. He was His representative, noble in His Sight, and a friend to all believers. As Allah has revealed in another verse, "We will impose a weighty Word upon you..." (Surat al-Muzammil: 5), he charged His last prophet, Muhammad (saas) with a heavy responsibility. Due to the Prophet's (saas) strong faith in Allah, he fulfilled that responsibility in the best possible way, called mankind to the path of Allah and Islam, and illuminated the way for all believers.

Gordon Newby

The sacred biography of Muhammad has shaped Muslims' perceptions of the place of Islam in the religious history of the world and located the Islamic founder and prophet as the last of God's messengers. As Muslims established political control over ancient Jewish and Christian communities, they also claimed hegemony over the panorama of biblical prophets and holy men. In the eighth century, the author of the first complete biography of Muhammad set out a plan for a history of the world that culminated with the advent of Muhammad and the religion of Islam. The biography not only gave the details of Muhammad's life but also retold the stories of past prophets from an Islamic perspective. The Making of the Last Prophet is an examination of the reshaping and retelling of the biblical past to form the image of Muhammad as the "Seal" of the prophets of God. Through a translation of the reconstructed Arabic text, the sources, the form, and uses of the eighth-century bi...

Both the term prophet and messenger are used in Al- Qur’an, either concurrently or respectively on its own. The two terms indeed have been long debated by Islamic scholars if there is any distinction between them. Some say there is a definite difference between the two, while some others insist they are a distinction wit- hout a difference but in meaning. Irrespective of the differences, the Islamic scholars agreed that all the prophets and messengers have one same message to convey from the beginning, that is the call to worship one God only. They are on the opinion that there is no hu- man theological evolution ever happened like it was claimed by those who believe in the evolution theory. They assure human belief system remains the same from the day one the religion was known, that is monotheistic in concept. Should there be any difference from one to another, it is all about the syariah tenets that each messenger or prophet brought with them. Obviously, the tenets develope...

مَا کَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ اَبَاۤ اَحَدٍ مِّنۡ رِّجَالِکُمۡ وَ لٰکِنۡ رَّسُوۡلَ اللّٰہِ وَ خَاتَمَ النَّبِیّٖنَ ؕ وَ کَانَ اللّٰہُ بِکُلِّ شَیۡءٍ عَلِیۡمًا "Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets; and Allah has full knowledge of all things." (Holy Quran, 33:41).

All members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community firmly believe that the Holy Prophet (sa) is the Khatamun Nabiyyin . Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi (as), affirms his belief in Khatme Nubuwwat when he writes: The sum total and the essence of our belief is:

لَآ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللّٰہِ [There is none worthy of worship except Allah, and Muhammad(sa) is the Messenger of Allah].

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) states in his writings:

“Our firm belief, which we uphold in this life and with which, by God’s grace, we shall leave this worldly abode, is that our Lord and Master, Muhammad, the Chosen One, is Khatamun-Nabiyyin [Seal of the Prophets] and Khairul-Mursalin [the best among the Messengers.] Through him, faith was perfected and the blessing, through which one can reach God by adopting the path of salvation, has reached its pinnacle”. (Izala-e-Auham, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 3, p. 169–170)

He also states:

"Bear in mind that the charge levelled against me and my Jamaat, that we do not believe the Holy Prophet (sa) to be Khatamun-Nabiyyin, is a great calumny. The strength, certainty, understanding and solid conviction with which we believe the Holy Prophet(sa) to be Khatamun-Nabiyyin is millions of times more potent than the belief of others. They lack the capacity, and they have no inkling as to the true meaning and significance of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat. They have only inherited a word from their ancestors, but they do not comprehend the meaning or the significance of the belief in Khatm-e-Nubuwwat. On the other hand, with God-given insight (of which Allah is All-Aware), I believe the Holy Prophet(sa) to be Khatamun-Nabiyyin. God has manifested to me the truth of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat in such a profound way that I enjoy this elixir of heavenly wisdom in a manner beyond the imagination of those who have not partaken of this fountainhead." (Malfuzat, vol. 1, p. 227– 228)

“None is worth of worship except Allah; Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is apostle of Allah”

“Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is not fathering any of your Men. However, he is the Messenger of Almighty Allah and the Last / Seal of the Prophets. In addition, Almighty Allah has complete knowledge of the things.”

Thus, finalization of the prophet hood has been clearly declared by Almighty Allah himself. There are about one hundred (100) verses of Holy Quran and more than two hundred (200) Sayings of the Holy Prophet on Khatm-e-Nubuwwat, which clearly and preciously convey that the practice of appointing Prophets has been finished after Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H). Let us study some of the Sayings of holy Prophet on this.

“I am the Last of the Prophets. No Prophet is there after me.”

“Ali! You have the same status and relation with me as Haroon (AS) had with Mosses (AS) with the exception that there is no prophet after me.”

Hazrat Abu Amarah narrates, the Holy prophet P.B.U.H Said

Ummul-Mumineen Hazrat Ayesha (Razi-Allah-ho-Anha)Narrates, the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said

Hazrat Uqba bin Aamir (Razi-Allah-ho-Anha) narrates, the Holy Prophet P.B.U.H said

Hazrat Abu Hurerah (Razi-Allah-ho-Anhu) narrates, the holly prophet (P.B.U.H) said

“My example and example of other prophet s is like the one who constructed the great, grant and beautiful place but left place of a brick in one of the corners. People cam to see and went around it. They praised its beauty and grand ness very much. Besides they said this is one brick has not been fixed.” The holly prophet P.B.U.H said, “I am that brick and I am the last of the prophets. (I am the seal of the Prophet Hood)”.

Hazrat Sobaan(Razi-Allah-ho-Anhu)

“There will be thirty faiths less liars of the highest order. Every one of them wills claims to be a Prophet. Where as in fact,I am last of the Prophets. No Prophet is to come (Here) after me”.

Hazrat Abuzar (Razi-Allah-ho-Anhu) narrates, the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said to me.

“Nor does he Say (ought) of (his own) desire. It is no less then inspiration sent down to him”.

After such clear and explicit declaration by almighty Allah Himself and his last his most distinguished prophet about the end termination of the practice of appointing Prophets, if some one does not believe in that, he is definitely an atheist and must be treated accordingly.

The whole Muslim Ummah coherence on the belief of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat. All the expounders and exegetics have concord on the meanings of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat. I.e. there is neither any type of Prophet nor any sort of messenger after Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H). It is also concordat that there is no other interpretation or appropriation in the meanings of the word Khatm-e-Nubuwwat. The abnegator (denier) of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat is abnegator of Allah his last messenger and coherence of Muslim Ummah. Denier of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat element of Nubuwwat is infidel, traitor, and biggest liar. His punishment is the Same as that Muselema Kazzab. May Allah grace all the Muslims to bound and cling them selves to the person of Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) and remain adherent to the teachings of Islam in letter and sprit Aamin.

True Insights into the Concept of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat

A Review of the Pakistani Government’s “White Paper”:  Qadiyaniyyat— A Grave Threat to Islam

Replies to Some Allegations

Mirza Tahir Ahmad

ISLAM INTERNATIONAL PUBLICATIONS LTD.

assignment on khatm e nabuwat in english

In 1984, the Islamic Government of Pakistan ignored fundamental Islamic decorum by depriving Ahmadi Muslims many of their basic human rights including religious freedom. In an attempt to justify this action, the Government of Pakistan published a so-called White Paper under the title Qadiyaniyyat — Islam kay liyay Sangin Khatrah (Qadiyaniyyat—A Grave Threat to Islam).

Although there was nothing new in this so-called White Paper—the objections in which had already been thoroughly refuted in Ahmadiyya Jama‘at literature—Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad Khalifatul-Masih IV (rh) , the then Imam of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama‘at, replied to these allegations in a series of sermons. These sermons (in Urdu) were published by the London Mosque in 1985 and the English translation is now being published.

Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad delivered this sermon on April 7, 1985 as the concluding speech of the Annual Conference of Jama‘at Ahmadiyya UK. It details the profound insight and conviction that the Promised Messiah (as) had in Khatm-e-Nubuwwat. By citing extensively from reputable sources throughout Islamic history, he demonstrates that the Ahmadiyya belief in Khatm-e-Nubuwwat is fully consistent with the consensus of the Companions (ra) of the Holy Prophet (sa) and the views held by respected Muslim scholars and authorities.

The Significance of Khatme-Nubuwwat

Islam enjoins upon the faithful a solid belief in the divine decree of Khatme-Nabuwwat (Finality of Prophethood) in last of the Messengers and the mercy to the Universe, Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ). This tenant of Islam is so essential that the slightest doubt in its validity may bring one’s faith to ruin. Those who guard their belief in this basic doctrine are surely protecting their faith in the religion of Allah (SWT).

Individuals who believe in the possibility of new Prophets after Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ) are, in effect, advancing the notion that the religion of Allah (SWT) is not perfect and are attempting to open the door for the possible alteration, corruption, or rejection of the message of Islam. Mirza Ghulam Qadiani of India, for instance, abrogated Jihad, introduced his own novel interpretation of Quranic verses (in defiance to authentic Hadith), and gave birth to a new faith he called Ahmadiyyat. Hussain Ali (Bahaullah) of Iran modified the entire doctrine of Islam, replaced the Holy Quran with his own book, changed the direction of Qibla from Makkah al Mukarrama to Namka in Israel, and named this new faith Bahaism.

It should be evident how the mere rejection of the doctrine of Khatme-Nabuwwat enabled misguided or opportunist individuals to challenge the believers from within and divert unsuspecting public from the religion of Allah (SWT).

The Holy Quran has made it abundantly clear, in more than one hundred of its verses, that no new Prophet or prophetic revelation will be sent. Over two hundred hadith (sayings of the holy Prophet (ﷺ) further support this injunction of the Quranic Message. The Holy Quran, Hadith and Tafseer have been consistent on this point since the advent of Islam. In addition, close companions of the holy Prophet, great scholars, and the entire Ummah have agreed on this basic tenant and consider it Kufr to entertain the possibility of Allah (SWT) commissioning any other Prophet.

Any Muslim would shrink from asking a claimant to divinity for proof, that claim very clearly contradicts the teachings of Islam. The very same level of confidence and belief is also required when we are faced with impostor prophets and Messiahs.

There can not be another god besides Allah (SWT) and there can not be another Prophet after Muhammad (ﷺ) .

Our duty to defend this basic tenant becomes evident when we review some of the brightest moments in Islamic history. The first rightly guided Caliph, Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA), fought against the army of the impostor Prophet Musailma, the Liar, despite the fact that, not only Musailma had recognized the Prophethood of Muhammad (ﷺ) , but also the Muslim state was still in its infancy and without the needed resources.

As the result of this war, 22000 soldiers of Musailma were eliminated, however, approximately 1200 precious Muslim lives including almost 600 Huffaz, Qaris, distinguished soldiers of Badr, and close Companions of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) were also lost their lives.

To appreciate these figures and understand the determination of early Muslims to protect the religion of Allah (SWT) from possible corruption, we will need to remember that, during the entire life of Prophet (ﷺ) , only 259 Muslim lives were lost in all the battles against the Kuffar. The non-believers had themselves suffered only 759 casualties. In short, our first Caliph, in unison with all the Companions (Sahaba), decreed that the impostor Prophet and his followers should not be allowed to spread their evil. Indeed, none of the companions rested until the complete elimination of the self proclaimed Prophet and his followers. This decision of Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) was so highly regarded, endorsed and accepted by the companions, that Hazrat Umar (RA) proposed an exchange with Hazrat Abu Bakr(RA). He said:

"I will exchange all good deeds of my life time for your acts of one night and one day. One night from those three nights you spent with Rasool Allah (ﷺ) in the Cave of Thaur and one day from the days of battles against impostor prophets to guard the Finality of Muhammad (ﷺ) .

Obviously, defending the Finality of Rasool Allah (ﷺ) should be of utmost importance for us, we should not even entertain the claims of false Messiahs and prophets who will appear from time to time.

It is a sad turn of events that some of our Muslim brothers, who claim to be liberal and broad minded, trivialize the significance and importance of the Islamic principal of Khatme-Nabuwwat and do not appreciate our duty to protect the Deen of Allah(ﷺ) from all enemies. We hope that this brief message has helped them realize the true message of Allah (SWT).

Mosque Construction

The Mosque Project

Build a mosque in this world and build your palace in Jannah

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam,

Mosques are the identification mark of Muslim areas. Sadly there are still numerous villages in our state and as well as in A.P. where generations have passed, years turned to decades but still the Muslims haven’t heard the sound of Adhaan. Due to their ignorance, cult members lead them to Temples, missionaries take them to Churches and the Qadiyanis take them to their “Prayer halls”.

The messenger of Allah PBUH said: “after the believer dies, he is followed by some of his good deeds including knowledge that he taught and spread, leaving a good child, a Qur’an he bequeathed, a mosque he built, or charity extracted from his wealth during his life while in good health”.

Donation for the building of a Mosque, The House of Allah, is Saddaqua Jaryia.

Approximately cost of a new mosque is 5.5 lakhs (INR) the cost will change as per the material price.

Standard size of Mosque consists of 3 rows with Verandah. Including room and toilet for Imam. You can find the architectural plan inside our website under "Construction of Mosque" Tab.

We Ask All Our Brothers & Sisters to Contribute and Donate Generously into Noble Project and Earn Endless Rewards and Mercy from AllahSubhana-Wa-Ta’ala.

Charity/ Donation/ Education Fund

All praise be to Allah, who is the sustainer and the giver of provisions. Peace and blessings be upon his messenger Muhammad ? who was generous in giving. And blessings be upon his companions who followed suit. Everything comes from Allah and to him we shall return. Allah commands that we give some amount from what he has bestowed upon us into charity. Give, and Allah will give in the hereafter. Purify your wealth through charity. Indeed Allah has made some charity mandatory. Know that Zakat is mandatory upon a free, adult, sane Muslim when he possesses the Nisab with complete possession over a year. Zakat is due on capital wealth which are namely gold, silver, cash, trading goods, livestock and arable land. Poverty, helplessness, and basic needs sometimes appear to be very critical trials for a poor Muslim which they have to struggle for the safety of their faith (Imaan). Also uneducated poor Muslims are easily trapped into the net of Qadianism and Christianity. The Prophet Muhammad (?) already has indicated to such a critical condition full of mischiefs and evil forces. In the rural villages the main and basic cause for poor Muslims to get converted to Qadiyani or Christianity is their financial status. In every village there are many Muslim widows, orphans and physically handicapped people who are contacted by some non-Islamic organizations who give them some money in charity and convert them into their own religion.

Majlise Tahaffuze Khatme Nubuwwat Trust TS & AP as an organization tries to help such kind of people, so that none of our Muslim members are being demoralized because of poverty, helplessness, physical challenges, and being orphan. We appeal to the fortunate Muslim brothers around the world to extend their helping hand towards your less fortunate brothers. Your Charity/ Donation can change the life of a talented, helpless, and needy, down trodden, life of an Orphan or Poor Muslims.
