The best business phone plans: Reliable 5G for work

matthew-miller

When I started writing for ZDNet 15 years ago , mobile phones were being used by 74% of the US population, but only 14% of those people were using these basic phones to access the internet. The latest data shows that 97% of Americans own a mobile phone, with 85% of those being smartphones that access the internet multiple times a day.

Smartphones and wireless cellular services are now essential for businesses to compete in today's market and broad coverage is an expectation. After T-Mobile's recent acquisition of Sprint, the US market is dominated by Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T. Each of these carriers offers various plan options for businesses of all sizes.

5G continues to roll out across the US, but reliable LTE service is still essential to getting work done. The pricing for business service is competitive, and as someone who has been in the industry for decades, it is amazing to see the reasonable pricing for such fast service that reaches across the nation.

Verizon phone plans for businesses

Verizon Wireless has the most subscribers in the US and is popular with businesses. Three Business Unlimited plans make it easy to find the perfect option for your business. All three  Business Unlimited plans  from Verizon include unlimited talk, text, and data. Support for 5G, mobile hotspot, and tablet use differentiate the three plans. Pricing is also for five or more lines, targeted for business and not for family usage.

Business Unlimited Start

$30 per line per month.

While there are no limits on minutes, texts, or data, in times of congestion data may be slower with this Start plan. Nationwide 5G, low-band spectrum 5G, is supported with the Start plan and a compatible smartphone.

Tablet, smartwatch, and hotspot options are available for additional costs on the Business Unlimited Start plan. The price also includes $5 per month savings for paper-free billing and auto pay.

Pros

  • Nationwide 5G coverage
  • Able to add additional devices (watches, tablets) to the account
  • No support for mmWave, high-band, 5G
  • Data speeds slowed down during times of congestion

Business Unlimited Plus

$40 per line per month.

For $10 more per line per month, Verizon adds 100GB of premium network access, 5G UWB (mmWave) support, and unlimited mobile hotspot service. In addition, Verizon's Business Mobile Secure is included at no additional cost. This enhanced security bundle includes lookout mobile endpoint secure, mobile device management, Wi-Fi protection, and tech support.

  • Nationwide 5G coverage, including mmWave spectrum
  • Enhanced security bundle included
  • Unlimited mobile hotspot service
  • 100GB limit during high usage time periods

Business Unlimited Pro

$50 per line per month.

The highest level Verizon Business Unlimited plan provides twice the amount of premium network access, 120GB, along with 50% off on Business Unlimited Pro tablet plans.

This plan may be perfect for businesses using connected tablets out in the field and smartphones that are using data throughout the day away from Wi-Fi service.

  • Nationwide 5G coverage with mmWave support
  • 50% cost savings on tablet plans
  • $50 price per line higher than other tiers

T-Mobile phone plans for businesses

After the purchase of Sprint, T-Mobile is now the second largest (in terms of subscriber count) carrier in the US. While T-Mobile has long been known for its consumer-friendly cellular plans, it also has one of the most extensive  libraries of business offerings  for small companies, large companies, and government agencies. Its new  Business Unlimited plans  are presented below, but other options require  direct discussions  between businesses and T-Mobile.

Business Unlimited Select

$25 to $60 per line per month.

Business Unlimited Select plans are designed for small business customers who need 1 to 12 lines of service. A one line plan is the most expensive, at $60 per month. Two lines are priced at $45 per line per month, four lines are $30 per line per month, and six or more lines are just $25 per line per month.

These plans include 5G network support, 5GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data, as well as unlimited calling/texting/data in Mexico and Canada.

  • Unlimited streaming is limited to SD content
  • Included data in Canada and Mexico is 128kbps speed

Business Unlimited Advanced

  • Affordable per line price point

For small businesses that want it all at reasonable per line prices, the new Business Unlimited Ultimate plan is for you. In addition to the unlimited talk, text, and data (with 5G included) small businesses also get unlimited premium data, 100GB of mobile hotspot, and Microsoft 365.

Streaming content is provided with unlimited 4K UHD quality, WiFi on your flight is unlimited, and data in 210 countries is twice as fast (256kbps) as the other T-Mobile small business plans.

  • Unlimited premium data
  • Unlimited WiFi on your flight
  • Microsoft 365 services included
  • 5GB of high speed data in Canada and Mexico

AT&T phone plans for businesses

After T-Mobile added Sprint subscribers to its total subscriber base, AT&T dropped to third in total subscriber count. However, AT&T is also well established as an enterprise service provider with  four enterprise options  available to customers. AT&T also serves as the backbone for the  FirstNet network  optimized for first responders.

Unlimited Your Way for Business

Starting at $30 per month.

The Unlimited Your Way for Business plans allow up to 10 devices per plan group and are designed for small to medium-sized businesses. The more lines you add, up to 10 lines, the less expensive the starting price is for AT&T Business Unlimited Starter, Business Unlimited Performance, and Business Unlimited Elite. For 10 lines, the starting price is $30, $35, and $40 per line per month, respectively. For just a single line, these prices are $65, $75, and $85 per line per month, respectively.

Hotspot data allotments, priority data transmission, and higher definition streaming are features that improve as you move from the Starter tier to the Elite tier of service. Select the number of lines on the Unlimited Your Way website to view pricing for your company.

  • Price per line decreases with additional lines
  • Multiple tiers of service are offered
  • Limited to 10 lines of service
  • Priority data transmission restrictions
  • Hotspot data limits

AT&T Mobility Select - Pooled

Starting at $35 per month.

Unlimited calls and text messages in the US, unlimited calls to Mexico and Canada, and unlimited texting from the US to more than 120 countries are included in the  AT&T Mobility Select - Pooled  plan service. Data is served up to each employee from a single shared pool for each business account.

Plans start at $35 per month, but potential customers need to contact AT&T to discuss specific details and plan pricing.

  • Affordable plan pricing
  • Unlimited calls to Mexico and Canada
  • Shared pool requires management to allocate

AT&T Mobile Share Plus for Business

Starting at $50 per month.

The AT&T Mobile Share Plus for Business plan supports from one to 25 smartphone lines with various monthly data caps, ranging from 3GB to 120GB per phone. Pricing per phone starts at $50 per month for 3GB and goes up to $615 for one phone with 120GB of data.

Shareable data, rollover data, unlimited talk and text, mobile hotspot service, and international talk, text, and data are provided with these plans.

  • Support for up to 25 lines of service
  • Rollover data support
  • Mobile hotspot service included
  • Data caps allocated by service option

AT&T Business 4GB

Unlimited talk, text, and 4GB of data per line are provided with the AT&T Business 4GB  plan. Hotspot data and standard mobile security services are also provided with the plan. Pricing for smartphones starts at $50 per month, but further pricing requires consultation with an AT&T representative.

AT&T Business 4GB is available for tablets for $20 per month and for wearables for $10 per month. AT&T advertises this plan as best for small businesses.

  • Unlimited talk and text
  • Controlled pricing per each phone
  • Service options for tablets and wearables
  • 4GB data limit per each line

MVNO options for businesses

While the three major carriers offer focused business plans, there are also a few MVNOs that offer attractive per line plans that may work well for small businesses. MVNOs (mobile virtual network operators) are companies that use establish wireless carrier infrastructure to provide no or minimal contract options for customers. The MVNOs do not openly advertise which wireless carrier infrastructure they are using, but as soon as you insert a SIM into your phone, you can see which carrier is connected to which MVNO. MVNOs are optimized for consumers looking for phone service with no contracts and prepaid options, but these same elements may help small businesses control costs and adjust to market demands.

US Mobile for business

$9 per line and $2 per gb per month.

Most MVNOs offer attractive per line prices with each account limited to five or six lines. US Mobile is one MVNO that actually provides shared data plans for companies of any size. Enter the number of lines you need and the amount of shared data to view your total monthly payment.

A couple of examples include 50 lines with 100GB of data for $674 per month or 30 lines with 50GB of data for $385 per month. We had the opportunity to test out the two available US Mobile SIM cards and found the service to be fast and reliable.

  • Specific service offering for businesses
  • Scalable to your business size and line needs
  • Competitive $9 per line base fee
  • Verizon and T-Mobile serve as network providers
  • Data price per GB may be higher than unlimited plans

Mint Mobile

$30 per month per line.

Mint Mobile is one of the most popular MVNOs thanks in large part to advertising by one of its owners, Ryan Reynolds. While there are no specific business plans, three/six/twelve month plans for individual phones are available starting as low as $30 per month for unlimited talk, text, and data.

T-Mobile provides the network for Mint Mobile's service so you will need GSM handsets for the service.

  • Unlimited talk, text, and data plan options
  • Flexibility for less expensive data limit plans
  • No specific business service plans
  • Limited to T-Mobile coverage area
  • Three available contract period options

Cricket Wireless

Starting at $25 per line per month.

Cricket Wireless is an established MVNO, service provided by AT&T, that has retail stores around the country so you can get support and establish service in person if you desire. One to five lines can be setup for each account with measured data or unlimited data. Mobile hotspot data can also be added to each line.

4G LTE and 5G data is provided, along with international support, cloud storage, and more.

  • Established, trusted MVNO
  • Physical retail stores around the country
  • Unlimited and measured data plan options
  • No long term contract required
  • Service coverage area limited to AT&T network
  • Five line limit per account

What steps should a new business take to establish wireless service?

While this buying guide provides current pricing and service options from the three primary US wireless carriers and MVNOs, specific pricing for your business requires a conversation with the carrier to fully define your company needs, available service discounts, and contract lengths.

One of the first things to figure out is where you will need service geographically in the US as all three carriers have slightly different coverage maps. Your geographic operating area may remove one, or more, carriers from your viable candidate list.

The next step is to determine how many lines of service you will need and then the data needs of those lines. Calling and text messages are unlimited in all cases, but data speed and amount of data will drive your costs.

Most carriers also offer additional incentives and services, such as hotspot, in-flight coverage, Microsoft 365, and more. Make sure to account for the value of these incentives in your decision-making process.

What are the disadvantages of a MVNO?

Most MVNOs are focused on the consumer market so business plan offerings for more than six lines of service are rare. Pricing can be very competitive and with no contracts these MVNOs may be attractive to businesses just getting started that do not want to lock in long-term contracts.

Account management may require more time from businesses given the consumer focus of MVNOs. MVNOs are also subject to the infrastructure provided by the big three US carriers, but there are several established MVNOs with solid reputation and a record of high-quality service and support.

We analyzed reliability, coverage, and price to compile a list of the best phone plans for your business which includes: Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.

Does the choice of my smartphone model limit wireless service?

In the past, the US wireless market was split into GSM and CDMA service technologies with two carriers supporting each of these technologies. Modern smartphones support LTE and 5G service without CDMA technology your choice of smartphone is not as limited.

The most popular smartphones in the US, Apple iPhones and Samsung Galaxy phones, support all wireless technologies in the US wireless market so there are no limits on using these phones with any US carrier. If you purchase these phones directly from Samsung and Apple, then you can choose to purchase unlocked models.

Some phones are sold in a locked state so they can only be used on one specific carrier. This may be changing soon and there are processes to unlock your phone from your carrier if you decide to switch carriers. There used to be incentives for purchasing locked phones, but in today's world purchasing unlocked phones gives you the most flexibility for choosing your service provider.

Current Verizon Business offers

These are the best available Verizon deals for business customers in June:

The cheapest Verizon phone plans

In the phone plans department, all three current Verizon plans for businesses offer unlimited talk, text, and data using the 4G and 5G networks. The Plus and Pro plans add 5G ultra-wideband support (aka mid-band plus mmWave), for faster speeds and lower latency in selected markets.

While the Unlimited Pro plan offers no restriction on speeds or phone data allowances, the Plus plan restricts the top speed after using 100 GB of data (phone or mobile hotspot) in the month. It is worth noting that both the Plus and Pro plans restrict full-speed hotspot access to 50 and 100 GB per month, respectively.

On top of that, all plans offer international data with up to 500 MB per day, plus a spam blocker for phone calls. The Plus plan adds a security package, while the Pro subscription includes a 50% discount on the Unlimited Tablet Pro plan.

Apple iPad Air

Best Verizon data and tablet plans

When it comes to data plans for tablets or wireless modem hotspots, all offers include unlimited data, with the Start plan not allowing the use of the tablet as a mobile hotspot, which is available in the Tablet Pro plan. The Pro option also adds faster data connections using the mmWave bands (Verizon's ultra-wideband network).

The Hotspot-exclusive data plans are even more straightforward, with both offering Ultra-wideband, and differing only in how much premium data is included: 60 GB in the Plus plan, and 100 GB in the Pro plan.

Faster Verizon fiber broadband connection plans

For fast fiber broadband internet plans, Verizon offers its FiOS service. It is worth checking the fine print when signing up, especially for the cheaper plans, which do not include a free router rental ($15 per month, and can be avoided if you already have a compatible Wi-Fi router).

Besides the faster speeds, approaching gigabit-like connections, the fastest plan also adds a digital voice landline, plus a Visa prepaid card, and a free router rental.

And that's it for our quick guide on the best Verizon plans for businesses. Leave a comment below if you want NextPit to cover other ISPs.

With the widest 4G network coverage in the United States, Verizon is one of the largest and most popular network carriers available. The top-performing carrier offers a vast range of business cell phone plans and services to suit businesses of all sizes.

Compared to competitors AT&T and T-Mobile , Verizon leads as the network provider with the strongest and widest reach , making it the ideal choice for businesses with teams in remote and urban areas. However, strong network coverage comes at a price. Verizon is currently one of the more expensive options, with plans going up to $1,000.00 per month.

Verizon offers strong network coverage, 5G access, and adaptable plans that can meet the communication needs of businesses , individuals, and families. The carrier is a great choice for remote teams or individuals that travel a lot. Verizon's international plans provide unlimited data and texting in over 210 international countries.

Verizon's biggest shortfall is the price . While the network provider is one of the best carriers for businesses with multiple teams, it does cost significantly more than its top competitors and won't be ideal for startups and businesses with small communication budgets.

Reputation:

**Verizon has just 20 complaints with the BBB. Considering it has nearly 120 million customers in the U.S. that's not too many.

Business Unlimited Mobility Pricing:

Price comparison:, verizon vs. at&t:.

Both AT&T and Verizon are popular network providers with similar features, such as unlimited data, talk, and text. Verizon is the more affordable platform, with prices starting from $30.00 per line compared to AT&T's starter pricing of $50.00 per line. Verison also offers better network coverage throughout the U.S.

Verizon vs. AT&T Comparison:

Verizon vs. t-mobile:.

Verizon and T-Mobile both offer unlimited text, talk, and data. However, for just $70.00 per month, Verizon's Unlimited Start plan is the more affordable choice, providing unlimited 4G LTE data and 480p DVD-quality streaming. Best Verizon Plans: How to Choose and Which Ones to Pick in April 2024

Verizon has a number of plans. We try to make sense of them all.

Our Experts

verizon wireless business plan comparison

CNET’s expert staff reviews and rates dozens of new products and services each month, building on more than a quarter century of expertise.

Looking for a wireless plan from Verizon isn't as simple as just going into a store or browsing online to pick one out. Verizon, like all of the major US carriers, offers a wide variety of different options even under the promise of "unlimited" talk, text and data. It's within that promise that things can quickly get messy.

After a variety of changes over the years, Verizon today has three main unlimited plans, all with similar names but with different offerings and prices: Unlimited Welcome, Unlimited Plus and Unlimited Ultimate. Welcome can be considered the base, Plus the middle and Ultimate the high-end.

So which plan should you choose? Let's break it down.

Read More: Our Guide to the Best Cell Phone Plans

  • Verizon's 4G LTE network is a strong backbone
  • Can still get perks
  • Can "mix and match" plans
  • No access to Verizon's fastest 5G networks
  • No set amount of high-speed data
  • No hotspot data
  • Lower savings on upgrades to new devices
  • Verizon makes the pricing complicated on its website

$65 per month for one line, $120 per month for four lines

Best verizon plan for most people: unlimited welcome.

Verizon's updated plans have replaced the carrier's previous Welcome Unlimited offer with... one named Unlimited Welcome. While the names are flipped, the core offer is still largely the same: Streaming perks like the Disney Bundle are not included by default with this plan, no hotspot data is provided and you can't hop on Verizon's fastest 5G networks (which it calls Ultra Wideband). Instead, it will be more in line (if not slightly better) than the 4G LTE experience you've had for years.

Upgrading your phone while on this plan also might preclude you from getting Verizon's best device deals.

You do get Verizon's network for $65 per month for one or $120 a month for four lines, assuming you have automatic payments and paper-free billing set up (if not, it's an extra $10 per line, per month). If you do want perks like the Disney bundle or Apple One, you can add them at $10 per month, per perk.

For most people who just want the base service, Welcome is probably more than enough. If you do need faster speed or hotspot data you can move those lines up to Unlimited Plus while keeping the rest on this cheaper option (what the carrier calls "mix and match"). The Plus plan offers many of the same capabilities as Welcome, but with the bonus of 30GB of high-speed hotspot data, the ability to connect to Verizon's fastest Ultra Wideband 5G networks and the comfort of knowing your data won't be slowed in very busy areas (think packed stadiums or arenas).

If you switch to Verizon and bring your own phone, the carrier will give you $180 back over 36 months. This amounts to a $5 monthly savings and is why the carrier's website may show you different pricing. Those looking to save even more can combine the Welcome plan with Verizon's other discounts for teachers, nurses, military and first responders. We cover those discounts here .

  • Access to Verizon's fastest 5G networks
  • More hotspot data
  • Can still get perks like the Disney Bundle
  • Better trade-in offers
  • Plans are pricier than Welcome

The upgrade pick for those who want faster 5G and hotspot data

Verizon unlimited plus.

At its core, Unlimited Plus is very similar to Unlimited Welcome. Both offer unlimited talk, text and data on Verizon's network and can tap into extras like adding in perks at $10/month per perk. You'd primarily want Plus because of the faster 5G speeds and hotspot data.

Whereas AT&T and T-Mobile don't segment access to their fastest 5G networks based on plans, Verizon does. If you want to tap into its fastest data networks (what it calls "Ultra Wideband" or "UW") you need to pony up for a pricier plan. The high-speed hotspot is also a premium feature, with Verizon offering 30GB in the Plus plan. Your data also won't be slowed in busy areas.

Verizon doesn't take a "one-size" approach and lets you "mix and match" family lines to best fit your needs. So, for example, if only one line needs the faster 5G access you can put them on Plus while keeping the rest of the account on cheaper options like Welcome.

It is also worth noting that Verizon (like T-Mobile) has started reserving its best device trade-in perks for its pricier plans, namely Plus and Ultimate. If you're looking to save the most on a trade-in, you may need to commit to a 36-month installment on Plus or the highest-tiered Ultimate plan to get the most value. The same goes for the discount it gives for bundling wireless and home internet.

Being on the cheaper Welcome plan will get you some savings but not the maximum discounts that the carrier offers.

How we test

Picking a wireless plan and carrier is an individualized process. What works for you and your family's needs may be vastly different from your friends or neighbors. Even geographically, some areas have better AT&T coverage while others work best on Verizon or T-Mobile (and vice versa). The picks we make are based on over a decade of covering and evaluating wireless carriers, their offerings and their performance.

Since choosing a provider is unique, we focus on larger plans and the value they provide; as well as calling out ways you can test the different networks in your area for yourself so you can make the best pick.

Factors to consider: Know your area

As we covered in our other wireless guides, to get the best deal you need to make sure you have the coverage that you need. This makes it hard to give a blanket recommendation of any one carrier. T-Mobile's service in New York may be excellent, but if you're in rural Iowa, Verizon is more reliable.

While your mileage may vary, the good news is that these networks are growing and improving all the time, particularly as the three major players race to blanket the US with 5G. It's quite possible that you left a network complaining about its sparse service a decade ago, but now it's beefed itself up because of that race to acquire customers.

If you know any friends or family in your area that already use the carrier you're considering, ask about their experience. You could also go to a carrier's store and see if they offer any free ways to try out the service before switching over, such as  T-Mobile's Network Pass . Verizon  offers a similar 30-day "Test Drive" program,  while the Cricket prepaid service  has its own trial program  that lets you sample parent AT&T's network.

Verizon plans FAQs

What about unlimited ultimate.

Verizon's latest top plan, called Unlimited Ultimate, is its priciest. A single line runs $90 per month, while if you have four lines on an account it would be $55 for the Ultimate line each month (in both cases assuming you have automatic payments and paper-free billing enabled).

What you get for that price is access to Verizon's fastest 5G networks, 60GB of high-speed hotspot data (double the amount offered to Plus users), international talk, text and data in over 210 countries as well as other perks like better offers and discounts on device upgrades.

For most people, this plan probably doesn't add enough to justify the $25 price difference between Ultimate and Welcome. If you travel internationally regularly, this plan might make more sense than Plus, as you'd probably be spending the $10-per-month difference on Verizon's TravelPass perk for a few days of high-speed data abroad anyway.

The same goes for if you're looking for the best deal on an upgrade and are already considering the Plus plan for faster 5G data access and hotspot. Some of Verizon's best trade-in deals require Ultimate, and in those specific cases, the money you'd save on the better upgrade deal over three years could match up or offset the cost of paying more for the device and keeping a cheaper plan.

For most people, we'd recommend staying away from this plan. It's likely too pricey for what you're getting when Verizon has better options available.

verizon wireless business plan comparison

What about cable companies?

Xfinity Mobile, Cox Mobile and Spectrum Mobile all run on Verizon's network and could be options depending on where you live.

To get the best rates, you will need to have an internet package from the respective provider. Expect the value to vary: Spectrum starts at $30 a month for unlimited, while Xfinity and Cox's plans start at $45 a month for a single line. That rate drops to $30 per line per month for two or more lines at Xfinity and Spectrum (so two lines run $60 a month and four lines are $120 monthly). At Cox, you need to have four lines to get that $30 per line, per month rate.

The above is for the base unlimited plans. Xfinity and Spectrum also have different tiers of unlimited with more high-speed and hotspot data. All three cable companies also offer shared data plans.

As mentioned above these prices require you to have home service from these providers. If you cancel your cable service, expect the bill to jump.

If you cut the cord and ditch Xfinity's home services, for example, each mobile line will cost an additional $25 per month per line. For a family of four, that will jack your monthly bill from $120 a month to $220.

Do I need to change my Verizon plan when I upgrade my phone?

You don't necessarily need to change plans when you upgrade your phone, but you may need to move plans if you want Verizon's best deals.

Verizon has been reserving some of its best deals for those who are on its priciest plans. For example, its top iPhone 15 Pro deals generally require the priciest Unlimited Ultimate plan (and potentially for you to add a new line or switch from a different carrier).

Verizon has also been adding fees  or raising rates on some of its older plans to encourage people to leave them for newer options.

Are there discounts to lower my Verizon bill?

Yes, Verizon offers a variety of discounts depending on your age, employer or profession. Nurses, teachers, military, first responders, college students and more can take advantage of various programs that could save you significant money on your bill. Florida residents can also save if they are over 55 years old .

It is worth noting that these discounts are often for the whole account. If you have three lines and one of those users is a nurse or a teacher, your whole family can benefit from the savings.

Some of these discounts have caps on the amount of lines that can benefit, so make sure to check the details when signing up. You can also see our story here for more details on the discounts offered.

Best Verizon phone plans for 2024: Unlimited, prepaid and more

Find the best Verizon phone plan to meet your wireless needs

  • Best overall plan
  • Best prepaid plan
  • Best family plan
  • Unlimited plan add-ons
  • 5G coverage
  • Choosing a plan
  • Verizon MVNOs

Finding the best Verizon phone plans feels like it should be a simple task. After all, Verizon has just three plans available through its postpaid service and three more if you go with the carrier's prepaid plans. That's not a lot of plans to have to sort through to find the best one for your needs.

1. The quick list 2. The best Verizon plan overall 3. The best Verizon prepaid plan 4. The best Verizon family plan 5. Verizon unlimited plan add-ons 6. 5G coverage at Verizon 7. How to choose your Verizon plan 8. Verizon MVNOs

But looks can be deceiving. Those three postpaid plans all offer unlimited data for a ride range of rates ($65 to $90), and figuring out the differences between each option means diving into the fine print.

That's where we come in. Because we regularly evaluate the best cell phone plans overall, we're well-versed in what separates Unlimited Welcome (basic coverage with 5G service), Unlimited Plus (faster 5G coverage along with hotspot data) and Unlimited Ultimate (international travel benefits). And if you don't need unlimited data, we can tell you whether Verizon's prepaid plans are worth considering. (Spoiler alert: they are!)

It's certainly worth getting to know Verizon's offerings, as we currently rank Big Red as the best phone carrier . And as confusing as its unlimited options may be, they do include some of the best unlimited data plans of any carrier.

If you're looking for more ways to save at Verizon, we routinely check for the best Verizon phone deals . You also can find some decent discounts with our Verizon promo codes , so it's worth taking a look at them before you proceed through the checkout.

Let's take a closer at the best Verizon phone plans currently available.

The quick list

Verizon logo

Unlimited data for $80 at Verizon

Verizon's Unlimited Plus is the best choice if you want unlimited data, thanks to its faster 5G coverage. The cheaper Unlimited Welcome plan can access Verizon's nationwide 5G network, but Unlimited Plus can tap into the faster Ultra Wideband service. Plus, the plan comes with 30GB of hotspot data. Other perks, like Disney's streaming service and international Travel Passes, are available as $10 add-ons.

15GB for $35 at Verizon

Verizon's prepaid plans cram a lot of data in for the price, making it one of the best prepaid phone plans out there. The best option gets you 15GB of data for $45 a month but if you set up AutoPay, that price drops to $35 after the first payment. Signing up for autopay means you no longer get Verizon's loyalty discounts for keeping your prepaid account open at Verizon, but the autopay discount is steeper than it was before.

Unlimited data for $120 at Verizon (four lines)

Unlimited Welcome starts at $65/month for one line of data and offers just the basics (though, as with Unlimited Plus, you can tack on extras through $10 add-ons). For households on a budget, though, this might be the best way to get unlimited data as four lines will cost just $120/month. Discounts from trading in your current phone can lower that monthly rate further when you switch.

The best Verizon cell phone plan overall

best verizon phone plans

1. Verizon Unlimited Plus plan

Specifications, reasons to buy, reasons to avoid.

If you need just one line of unlimited data for your phone, we'd recommend Verizon's Unlimited Plus plan. It gives you access to Verizon's growing Ultra Wideband 5G coverage, which is Verizon's fastest service. You can consume as much data as you like, and you even get 30GB of hotspot data.

Even with discounts as you add lines, Unlimited Plus can be pricey for families, with four lines of data costing $180 before you add any perks. (More on those in a moment.) Keep in mind that Verizon lets you mix-and-match lines so some members of the family can opt for Unlimited Plus while others get the less expensive Unlimited Welcome service.

We mentioned add-ons. Verizon offers things like Disney's streaming bundle, a family subscription to Apple Music, Travel Passes for international travel and cloud storage as $10/month add-ons. The good news is you can mix and match the add-ons you like and even drop them in months you don't need them. The bad news is that a lot of add-ons can supersize your monthly phone bill if you're not judicious about what you add.

Besides Unlimited Welcome, which we'll explore below, your other unlimited data option is Unlimited Ultimate. It costs $90 for one line of data after an autopay discount, but you get 60GB of hotspot data and unlimited calls and texting when you travel overseas. Unlimited Ultimate also includes 10GB of international premium data each month to use overseas, making it one of the best international phone plans if you do a lot of traveling.

The best prepaid Verizon phone plan

Verizon plans

2. Verizon 15GB prepaid plan

Verizon’s prepaid plans don’t feature a lot in the way of perks, as is often the case when comparing prepaid vs. postpaid phone service . But Verizon's prepaid options do pack in data, especially the carrier’s 15GB plan. Even better, it's easy to lower the cost of your plan right away, making this 15GB one of the best cheap cell phone plans we've found.

Verizon’s 15GB plan costs $45 a month, but enrolling in autopay now takes $10 off the monthly rate. A month after starting your service, your autopay discount kicks in, immediately dropping the cost of your Verizon prepaid plan.

Verizon continues to offer loyalty discounts for sticking with the carrier for coverage — $5 off after three months and and another $5 after nine months — but you can't apply both the autopay and loyalty discounts. It's either one or the other, so the lowest your bill can go is $35.

The only other prepaid options at Verizon are a pair of unlimited plans. They cost $50/month and $60/month after $10 autopay discounts. While all prepaid plans have access to Verizon's nationwide 5G service, only the $60 Unlimited Data Plus gives prepaid customers access to super-fast Ultra Wideband 5G.

The best Verizon phone plan for families

Verizon plans

3. Verizon Unlimited Welcome plan

Verizon phone plans used to be extremely pricey, but the Unlimited Welcome plan lets you access the network's coverage for just $65/month for a single line of data. There are caveats to that plan, of course — there's no hotspot data as there is with the Unlimited Plus plan and Verizon can slow your speeds if its network gets congested.

Still, if you need multiple lines, Unlimited Welcome may be the best family cell phone plan at Verizon. Thanks to multiline discounts, four lines of data cost just $120/month. A current discount when you bring your own phone lets you drop the cost of each line by $5 per month, lowering the monthly total to $100. The ability to mix-and-match plans means that some lines can have Unlimited Plus while others get Unlimited Welcome.

The same add-ons available for Unlimited Plus customers also work for Unlimited Welcome. So you could tack on the Disney bundle with Disney Plus, Hulu and ESPN Plus and pay $75 for a single line of data plus all three of those streaming services.

Verizon unlimited phone plan add-ons

Unlimited Plus, Unlimited Welcome and Unlimited Ultimate plans have access to 10 different add-ons, each of which cost $10/month. Through these add-ons, you can tack on extra benefits to your wireless plan. The end result is a benefit-packed offering that compares well to best cell phone plans out there, though the risk is that adding too many benefits can drive up the cost of your Verizon plan.

Verizon would counter that the advantage to making these extra benefits into separate add-ons is that you only need to add the things that appeal to you. If you don't do any international traveling, for example, you can safely ignore the Travel Pass benefit. What's more, Verizon's $10 pricing reflects a savings from what you would pay for the benefit on its own — anywhere from $5 to $25 in savings each month depending on the add-on.

Disney's bundle of Disney Plus, Hulu and ESPN Plus would normally cost you $19/month, so you're saving $9 by getting it through Verizon. (The Hulu and ESPN versions feature ads; Disney Plus does not.) Similarly, a bundle that features the ad-supported tiers of Netflix and Max saves you a little less than $7 when you buy Verizon's monthly bundle.

Here's the list of benefits available to customers with unlimited data plans at Verizon:

  • 100GB Mobile hotspot
  • Disney Bundle (Hulu, Disney Plus, ESPN Plus)
  • Netflix + Max (with ads)
  • Walmart+ Membership
  • Apple Music Family
  • 2TB Cloud Storage
  • Smartwatch Data and Safety
  • 3 TravelPass Days
  • +play monthly credit

5G coverage at Verizon

Verizon plans

Verizon launched its 5G network in 2019, but the real boost came with the 2022 launch of C-Band spectrum. That extended Verizon's fast Ultra Wideband network to more areas, with 200 million people now covered by C-Band speeds as of this writing. We tested Verizon's C-Band when it launched and came away impressed by Verizon's improved network.

As for Verizon nationwide 5G coverage, it reaches more than 230 million people at this point. That service isn't as fast as Ultra Wideband 5G or C-Band 5G, but it's more pervasive at this point, even if T-Mobile currently beats Verizon on 5G reach and average speed, according to the latest data from RootMetric s . That same report praises the reliability of Verizon's 5G coverage.

If you live in an area that's covered by Verizon's 5G network and want to experience faster coverage, unlimited data is the best Verizon plan to get. In particular, you'll want to opt for the Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plans, as they include access to Ultra Wideband 5G. Prepaid plans get the nationwide 5G coverage as well, with the Unlimited Plus prepaid service enjoying Ultra Wideband speeds where available.

Many of the best 5G phones are available through Verizon including the Galaxy S24 Ultra , Galaxy Z Fold 5 and all four iPhone 15 models. Verizon also has some 5G exclusives like the TCL 30 V 5G . Some phones like the Motorola Razr foldables aren't available through Verizon, though.

The best Verizon phone deals can help you find the best prices on all sorts of handsets, 5G-capable models included.

How to choose the best Verizon plan

Finding the best Verizon phone plan for your wireless needs involves choosing between unlimited data or turning to the tiered data options from Verizon's prepaid service.

If your smartphone usage involves a lot of streaming — be it movies or music — you're going to want to look at Verizon's two unlimited options. Should your data needs begin and end with browsing the internet, checking email and the occasional social media post, you can probably get away with a tiered prepaid data plan.

If possible, look at your monthly data usage on your current plan to see how much you're consuming on average — if it's 15GB or less, you can save money each month by going prepaid. Just be aware that you won’t get as many perks with a prepaid as you would with one of Verizon’s postpaid options. Our guide on figuring out how much cell phone data you need each month can help you determine what kind of plan is best for your phone usage.

Other phone carriers on the Verizon network

While getting service directly from Verizon ensures you get Verizon's top speeds and best plans, there are other carrier options if you want to use Verizon's network without paying so much for your service. MVNOs — short for mobile virtual network operators — piggy-back on other carriers' networks to provide lower-cost service. The trade-off is that the parent carrier prioritizes its own customers so you might see slower speeds.

In the case of Verizon MVNOs , several use Verizon's superior network for their own 5G coverage. The best isn't technically an MVNO, as Visible is owned and operated by Verizon. Notably, Visible's unlimited data plans start at $25 a month — more than half of what you'd pay for service at Verizon, while using the same network.

Xfinity Mobile also uses Verizon's network to offer phone service for Comcast customers who also get their internet service through the provider. Adding multiple lines lowers the cost of unlimited data plans to $30 per line with Xfinity Mobile, making it an attractive option for families.

How do Verizon plans compare to rival carriers?

Verizon has fewer postpaid options than the best T-Mobile cell phone plans . As a result, the Uncarrier beats Verizon on price, with its bare-bones Essentials plan costing $60/month. Other T-Mobile plans pack in more perks as opposed to Verizon's approach with turning perks into $10 add-ons you can add and subtract at will.

AT&T has a lower-priced plan than Verizon's entry-level unlimited data offering, though the $51/month Value Plus plan is limited to just a single line of data. Other best AT&T phone plans are pretty comparable to what Verizon charges for unlimited data.

Are Verizon's plans good for seniors?

Verizon does offer a discounted unlimited data plan to anyone 55 years and older, but there’s a huge catch — Verizon’s 55+ plan is only available for people living in Florida. If you’ve got a Florida billing address, you can get two lines of unlimited data for $80 a month, with video streaming at 480p resolution, unlimited mobile hotspot data (though restricted to 2G speeds), and the ability to use your plan in Canada and Mexico. A single line of data costs $60.

T-Mobile offers discounted unlimited plans for seniors 55 years and older that are $10 less expensive than what Verizon charges, and those plans are available to anyone regardless of where they live. T-Mobile also includes 5G coverage with its senior plans. That's why we think T-Mobile has the best cell phone plans for seniors — unless you're in Florida, of course.

Business.org’s 5 best business cell phone plans

At&t: best full-featured plans.

Looking for a broad choice of bells and whistles? As a telecom behemoth, AT&T has plenty of cell phone features and packages to offer a business—around 20 plan variations, small to large. All plans include free US roaming, unlimited talk, and text messages, as well as unlimited texting outside of the country. Basic features like call forwarding, voicemail, caller ID, call waiting, and conference calling also come standard with all AT&T business cell phone plans, along with bring-your-own-phone support.

AT&T's business cell phone plans

Data as of 12/7/22. Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change.

Business Unlimited plan prices start at $35 a month per line, and there is a new perk where unlimited data is included in the unlimited talk and text plan. This means there is no need to worry about overages or data caps.

AT&T business plans can also accommodate up to 10 lines per account, and they come fully loaded with perks—like Stream Saver. This feature optimizes streaming video on your phone to 480p so you can watch webinars on-the-go without dealing with a blurry picture.

Each plan also includes a decent array of iOS and Android smartphone options and even a few good ol’ flip phones. A 15% military veteran discount can be applied to the Business Unlimited plans, as well as AT&T-owned DIRECTV services (because, again, telecom behemoth).

Users are eligible for a discount if they elect for autopay and paperless billing but this discount is only applied until after two pay periods. We don't know why the discount cannot be applied earlier in the billing process but we do find it frustrating.

T-Mobile: Best flexible plans

Not sure exactly what you’ll need in a mobile plan besides future adaptability? T-Mobile, the third-largest wireless service in the US, offers four Magenta® for Business plans, all packed with unique features that set T-Mobile apart from the rest. The German-owned company has also earned a reputation for stellar customer service and was the first to eliminate annual contracts (an idea that stuck—none of the plans reviewed on this page require contracts). In April 2018, the company announced its intention to merge with Sprint under the T-Mobile banner.

T-Mobile's business cell phone plans

Data as of 12/7/22. Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change. *While using AutoPay.

All of T-Mobile’s Business cell phone plans offer the same basic features:

Unlimited talk and text

Unlimited 5G and 4G LTE data on our network

  • Unlimited mobile hotspot
  • Scam Shield

Unlimited calling and texting to Mexico & Canada

Unlimited video streaming

In addition, all T-Mobile Business plans include DIGITS, which allows you to access up to five phone numbers on a single device. That means you could answer calls to your work number and your personal number on one device—no more packing two phones in your bag every day. DIGITS also lets you share your phone number across multiple devices, so you can answer on your phone, smartwatch, tablet, or computer.

T-Mobile users with a Business plan can also add the PlusUp add-on and get extra features, like Voicemail to Text, HD streaming, 20 GB of 4G LTE mobile hotspot data, unlimited in-flight Wi-Fi, caller ID, and double the data speed when roaming internationally.

Keep in mind, though, that T-Mobile’s Business plans are available only on plans with two to 13 lines. If you need more than 13 lines, you’ll need to sign up for the 13+ Plan ($285 per month for 13 lines, plus $25 per month for each additional line).

T-Mobile plans also allow bring-your-own-device convenience, or you can buy phones up front with a single payment (there are nearly 40 iOS and Android phones to choose from).

Now that T-Mobile and Sprint have been merged for almost six months, some significant changes have taken effect. T-Mobile’s website is now the only place businesses can sign up for Sprint or T-Mobile business phone accounts.

Sprint still has an active business website for previous users but all new plans will be sold by T-Mobile on its website.

Verizon: Best growing business plans

Serving over 150 million customers, Verizon isn’t just big, it’s BIG. Such a mobile mammoth might not seem like the obvious choice for a small business, but for what it lacks in a personalized customer service reputation, Verizon more than makes up for by offering every cell phone feature there is, as well as dominant US, and near-dominant global, coverage. Like McDonald’s and Marvel movies, Verizon is everywhere.

Verizon's business cell phone plans

Data as of 12/7/22. Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change. *With 4+ lines

While business owners can get business cell phone plans with limited data, we recommend choosing an unlimited plan if you have multiple employees (or do a lot of work via cell phone).

Verizon’s Business Unlimited cell phone plans are scalable from four employees up to and over 40. And with plans starting at just $40 per line, Verizon Business Unlimited plans are an attractive option whether you’re running a tiny company with no expansion plans, a medium-sized business with an eye toward growth, or a large enterprise with heavy cell phone requirements.

Verizon Beyond Unlimited plans also include unlimited mobile hotspot use, though your speeds are limited depending on your plan. Plus, you get unlimited calling and texting to Mexico and Canada—not to mention unlimited calling, texting, and data while in those countries. And naturally, you also get unlimited talk and text as part of your Beyond Unlimited package.

Verizon doesn’t skimp on device choices either. There are nearly 100 iOS and Android phones and tablets available—including the Verizon Jetpack, a mobile hotspot device that can connect 10 devices to its 4G LTE network and an additional five to 3G.

If your company requires truly “unlimited” cell phone service and scalability to grow and is in the position to pay for functionality with frills, Verizon Business Unlimited is the way to go. Bare-bones operations, however, might want to look elsewhere.

Each of our recommendations has its strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes the most difficult part about finding a phone system is determining exactly what you need and don't need. The best place to start is separating your needs between installing a new system, replacing a system or expanding system.

If you are having trouble sorting out exactly what your phone needs are, use this tool to help you understand what the best options are for your unique needs.

MintMobile: Most affordable plans

We are sure you’ve seen the commercials with Ryan Reynolds talking about this new phone carrier business with a fox logo called Mint Mobile. In fact, a lot of Mint customers were drawn to Mint because of Ryan Reynolds Hollywood looks, but that’s not the only thing Mint has to offer.

Mint is inexpensive and transparent, compared to other cell phone carriers with hidden fees and seemingly random regulations.

MintMobile's business cell phone plans

Data as of 12/7 /22 . Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change.

T hese are the prices for new customers and will last up to three months. After the third month, you are eligible to sign up for a 6- or 12-month contract on one of the tiered plans, all less than $35/mo/user, which is astronomically less than other providers.

MintMobile is no fuss, and you really do feel like you must be tricking the rest of the world with its pricing. The only issue is that MintMobile is fairly new, launched in 2015, coverage is not completely everywhere. There are still a couple of coverage gaps in the West, namely Utah, Nebraska, Idaho and Nevada. If you are east of the Rocky Mountains, you are good to go!

Teltik: Best perks plans

If you’re a strapped startup, New Jersey’s Teltik can get you up and running on the cheap. Teltik is a reseller service operating on T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network, meaning it can offer the reliability and reach of a giant provider at smaller-company prices. Teltik also has the advantage of being completely US-based, with 24/7 local customer service that’s not outsourced overseas.

Teltik's business cell phone plans

3 more (non-business) cell phone plans reviewed by business.org.

Teltik appears to have a dozen plans, but they’re mostly just variations of the essential plan that offers all the expected basics. Not coincidentally, the features mirror those of T-Mobile, as they’re on the same network.

The most basic plan starts at $20 a month and includes unlimited calling and texting, mobile hotspot service, and unlimited data—with a 2 GB cap on 4G LTE speeds (meaning your speed gets throttled to 128 Kbps if you use more than 2 GB of data in a month). From there, you can upgrade your plan to include more 4G LTE data and more mobile hotspot data. Upgraded plans cost anywhere from $30 to $40 per month, and they all include one cloud-phone VoIP line—perfect for small businesses looking to save on all their telecommunications needs.

One distinctly entertaining feature (pun intended) of Teltik’s business plans? You get unlimited media streaming from over 40 music services (including Spotify, Pandora, and Apple Music) and more than 100 video services (including YouTube, Netflix, and any other channel you can think of). That means you can stream as much TV as you want without it eating into your data. It’s almost as if Teltik doesn’t want you to get any work done.

Another thing you need to know: Teltik doesn’t sell phones. Instead, the company operates on a strict bring-your-own-device basis. Any unlocked phone will work with its network, as will any T-Mobile device, of course. However, you will have to spend $10 plus shipping and handling to buy a new SIM card for each of your devices (unless they’ve already got brand-new, unused T-Mobile SIM cards).

Boost Mobile

The takeaway

Assess your company’s current cell phone usage, and projected future needs, before diving into any plan. What looks like a great deal could turn out to be more than you actually need—or you may have initially underestimated your business’s cell phone requirements. Also, if your company has both cell phone and regular office phone needs, check into bundling. The larger telecom providers offer both types of phone coverage, and bundling services is an easy way to save money in the long run.

Don’t want to carry around separate phones for work and personal calls? With the right VoIP service, you don’t have to. Check out our favorite business VoIP providers to see which ones offer on-the-go business phone capabilities.

Business cell phone plan FAQs

If you have several employees working outside of the office on a regular basis, desk-bound phones obviously aren’t going to work for them. Some may be only calling and texting while others will be checking email, using GPS navigation, and accessing the internet for work, but a cell phone is a must for employees in the field.

If you’re a one-person operation accountable to only yourself, you could get by with a personal cell plan. Keeping track of multiple employees’ hours, data, and providers, however, would be an extra headache you don’t need. For streamlining and collaboration purposes, a business cell phone plan would be the easier route.

Most of the plans we’ve reviewed here offer unlimited data—domestically, at least—so hitting the data ceiling won’t likely be an issue. But if you want to forecast how much data your business uses every month, providers make data plan estimators available on their websites. Or you could use a third-party calculator app.

BYOD stands for bring your own device . Another common term is BYOP for bring your own phone . These can mean that employees are using their personal phones, tablets, or laptops on their own carrier plans for work or that they’ve put those devices on the company’s plan. The upside? Less expensive than buying devices. The downside? Extra security concerns.

In the annoying absence of Wi-Fi, you can use a cell phone signal to connect a wireless device to the internet by switching on the mobile hotspot option and simply treating it like a Wi-Fi router. For multiple device connections, a dedicated hotspot (such as Verizon’s Jetpack) can provide a faster, and more stable, connection.

The best Verizon unlimited plans and prices for 2024

Time to go truly unlimited with Verizon?

Verizon branded sim card on yellow background

Verizon unlimited data plans

  • Prepaid plans

If you're shopping for a new mobile phone service provider, Verizon might be at the top of your list. It's one of the largest carriers in the US, and it has a variety of unlimited data plans to fit your needs.

But, with several different unlimited data plans (and the growing Verizon 5G network, which adds value to its unlimited plans in some regions), it can be difficult to know just what you're getting from a Verizon unlimited plan.

We've gone over the fine details of what each of Verizon's unlimited plans offers, what they'll cost you, and what alternative options might serve you better. We'll give you a breakdown of all the deals, and then help you figure out if Verizon's unlimited plans are really what you need.

  • Here are the best from the carrier - the finest Verizon Wireless plans
  • Discover the US's very best unlimited data plans
  • Want to see prepaid as well? see the best cell phone plans
  • Want Apple? Then checkout the best Verizon iPhone deals

Verizon's post-paid unlimited data plans are the main offering from the carrier, although it does also have prepaid options (see below). These plans tend to be fairly pricey but offer the most perks, mobile hotspot allowance, and the best data speeds overall. You'll also get a discounted price per line when you add in multiple lines on a single plan - up to four, in fact. You can also get a saving by using the autopay feature.

Verizon has recently switched up the way it handles the additional perks for its unlimited data plans. New for 2023 is the 'myPlan' system which allows you to pick one of three plan tiers and then bolt-on additional perks for $10 per month each. These include things like a Disney+ subscription or more mobile hotspot data. We've included a full list of additional perks just down below underneath the current plan tiers you can choose at Verizon.

With this plan, you'll get unlimited data, talk, and texting on the 'standard' 5G network, which means your speeds might be a little slower versus the more premium tier when your local area is busy. The Unlimited Welcome plan also has a few restrictions on phone deal eligibility, home internet discounts, and connected device discounts. In short, if you're looking for just the basics this can be a good option, although you'll want to factor in things like eligibility for trade-in rebates on flagship devices before you opt for the cheaper plan. 1-line: $60/mo | 2-line: $100/mo | 3-line: $105/mo   | 4-line: $100/mo

These include eligibility for rebates and savings on flagship devices, 30GB of mobile hotspot data, and unlimited data on the quickest 5G wideband network. You'll also get an additional saving of up to 50% for one accessory line and a fantastic bring-your-own saving of up to $540 (as good as you'll get at Verizon). If you're a data-hungry user who doesn't need a huge amount of mobile hotspot data then the Unlimited Plus plan is a good basis for the various optional perks like Disney+ or Walmart+ membership. 1-line:  $65/mo | 2-line:  $110/mo | 3-line:  $120/mo | 4-line:  $120/mo

As you've probably surmised from the name - this tier offers the best Verizon has to offer right now. Included in the price here is a whopping 60GB of mobile hotspot allowance, one of the highest on the market right now, and 10GB of unthrottled international data in over 200 countries. Being on this plan tier will automatically entitle you to the best possible savings on device upgrades and up to 50% off two accessory plans. While pricey, this one is definitely a good option if you're a power user who wants to use multiple lines. 1-line:  $75/mo | 2-line:  $130/mo | 3-line:  $150/mo | 4-line:  $160/mo

  • +play monthly credit
  • 3 TravelPass days
  • 2 TB cloud storage

All the above perks are costed at $10 per month and you can change them out at any time during your plan duration. Note, if you'd prefer to skip the perks then that's also a completely valid option - all perks are completely optional.

Prepaid options for Verizon Unlimited plans

Verizon Prepaid Unlimited: $60/mo with autopay

Verizon Prepaid Unlimited: <a href="https://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-6361382-15733793?sid=hawk-custom-tracking&url=https://www.verizon.com/plans/prepaid/" data-link-merchant="verizon.com""> $60/mo with autopay If you're open to a pre-paid plan and don't need some of the extras, you can sign up for this unlimited plan. You'll get unlimited calls, texts, and data for a cheaper single-line price than any of the other individual plans. You won't, however, get any of the streaming perks or cloud storage that are included in some of the postpaid options. With 50GB of premium network access (that can't be deprioritized) and 25GB of mobile hotspot data, it's pretty good value.

Visible Wireless: <a href="https://visible.pxf.io/c/221109/1394244/12909?subId1=hawk-custom-tracking&sharedId=hawk&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.visible.com%2Fplans" data-link-merchant="visible.com""> prepaid plans from $25 per month In addition to Verizon's own prepaid plans, you may want to consider checking out Visible Wireless. This subsidiary carrier of Verizon specializes in superb cost-effective unlimited data plans for as little as $25 per month. Compared to Verizon, there are no contracts or term requirements to get the cheapest rate possible so it's well worth considering. Note, however, that you may be subject to deprioritization on Visible if your local area is busy but this can depend from location to location.

Do I really need an unlimited Verizon plan?

Unlimited data plans are becoming the norm from carriers, with many doing away with their other types of plans. Verizon does have some other prepaid plans with limited that may work for some users, but its post-paid shared data plans don't offer a compelling value compared to its unlimited plans. If you don't frequently stream video and music, you may be able to get by without an unlimited plan.

Verizon has a 15GB prepaid plan for $35 a month that would likely be a great value for anyone who doesn't watch a lot of video on the go, and it even allows you to use that data for mobile hotspot. Even if you watch the occasional video on mobile data, 15GB of data offers plenty of flexibility.

If you're not sure how much data you use in a regular month, you should be able to check on your phone. Many phones will track how much data you've used each month, so you can have a look toward the end of the month and see whether you're using enough to justify an unlimited plan.

What other plans does Verizon have?

While Verizon's unlimited plans are on its flagship plans, it offers plenty of other options. You can choose from a number of postpaid plans that let you share a small data allotment with the other users on your account. You can also select from a number of prepaid plans that include data allotments or even unlimited data.

You can find out all about Verizon Wireless plans here. We've looked at all the specific details on each plan, so you'll know exactly what you're getting from each.

Is Verizon unlimited really unlimited?

Verizon's unlimited plans are all somewhat different, and while they all have some limits, the actual amount of data you're allowed to use is unlimited. Whether you're on the old Verizon Plan with unlimited data or one of the current unlimited plans, you get unlimited data.

But, your speeds may be limited, and certain types of data may be limited.

For instance, Verizon places limits on mobile hotspot data and streaming video quality. It also will give higher priority to the data speeds of other users after you've exceeded a certain level of data usage in a month. The current exception is for users on the 5G network, which have no bandwidth restrictions applied to general data, streaming or mobile hotspot.

What are the best phones I can get from Verizon?

If you want to get a great phone from Verizon, your options aren't limited. Verizon carries many of the best phones on the market. You can get the latest iPhone or the newest Samsung smartphone, and there are plenty of budget options to choose from. Here's our guide on the best Verizon phones available . But, if you're not planning to buy a phone directly from Verizon, you can also check out the best unlocked phones , which will let you activate with Verizon and change to another mobile carrier whenever you want.

Verizon Wireless offers some of the most powerful unlimited plans on the market, with amazing coverage, tons of hotspot data , flexible family plan options, and a rapidly expanding 5G nationwide network that offers unprecedented speeds. There’s no question that it’s one of the best carriers around.

The only real downside is the cost: Verizon’s plans run about $5 to $15 more than similar plans from its competitors.

So, is Verizon worth its top-shelf price? If you want the best coverage and fast data speeds, then we think you’ll like Verizon’s options. Read on to learn all the nitty-gritty details about Verizon Wireless cell phone plans.

Methodology

Looking to upgrade to a 5g device.

The only way to take advantage of Verizon’s (and other carriers’) incredible 5G speeds is to have a 5G capable device, like the iPhone 12 or Samsung Galaxy S21. Check out the latest deals from Verizon and other companies on our deals page !

How to choose the perfect plan

We’ve spent countless hours researching, testing, and writing these reviews. In that time, we’ve come up with some important features to consider when choosing your next cell phone plan. Here are some tips before we get into the in-depth review.

  • Data: If you don’t have enough high-speed data , then your smartphone is basically useless. Make sure you have the 4G LTE and 5G data that you need for work, gaming, streaming, scrolling, and everything else.
  • Price: Get the best price available by comparing plans using tools like the Whistle Out widgets in this article.
  • Coverage: All three major networks—AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon—have pretty good 4G coverage in major cities. But 5G nationwide coverage and rural coverage can vary widely. Check coverage maps for the carrier with the best network in your area.
  • Features: There are tons of extra features—like mobile hotspot data, international benefits, and HD video streaming—that you can get. Check the fine print to see what a plan offers before you sign up.

Pay half the price for the same coverage

Here’s a cost-saving tip—you can get the same reliable cellular coverage as you would from Verizon when you sign up for a much cheaper wireless plan through an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator). MVNO carriers operate over the same cellular towers, but let you save big with a simpler plan.

Our top recommended Verizon alternative is Visible . You can get unlimited talk, text, and data on Verizon's network for $20 or $35 per month, cutting down your bill significantly while still getting you unlimited hotspot data and access to fast 5G.

Verizon unlimited plans

Yes, Verizon’s prices are a bit higher than its main competitors ( AT&T and T-Mobile ). But we think Verizon’s coverage, speed, and performance—three things the company rates highly for—make the price worthwhile.

Take a look at the company’s unlimited plan pricing and features to decide for yourself.

Verizon unlimited plans features

On the surface, these two unlimited plans may look pretty much the same (besides price, of course). They each come with unlimited talk, text, and data. But there are actually some significant differences. This chart breaks it all down.

Data effective 7/14/2023. Offers subject to change. * Data speeds can be throttled after reaching data cap

As you can see, the real difference between these plans comes down to data allotment and perks.

The Welcome Unlimited  plan is the cheapest, but your data speeds can be deprioritized at any time, making it hard to reliably stream, game, or work on your phone. This plan also comes with no mobile hotspot data, and you have to pay extra for ultra-wideband 5G.

The Unlimited Plus plan has pretty much all of the above (but a smidge better): Unlimited premium data (no data deprioritization cap to be seen here), 720p video streams with 4K HD capabilities (depending on your device), free subscriptions, cloud storage, plus 30 GB of hotspot data! It’s a real powerhouse of a plan.

Nationwide 5G vs. ultra-wideband 5G

If you’re confused about 5G , don’t worry. You’re not alone. It’s a new mobile technology that basically means that you’ll get faster data speeds. But there are different kinds of 5G.

Verizon’s “Nationwide 5G” is kind of like 5G-lite. It gives you just slightly faster speeds than the 4G LTE you’re used to and it’s available all over the country. But ultra-wideband 5G can give you wildly fast data speeds—like 100–200+ Mbps! That’s faster than most home broadband connections. But it’s only available on certain devices and in certain areas.

Verizon unlimited plans comparison

Now let’s put those Verizon prices in context with the other major wireless competitors. Be forewarned: price isn’t everything. Of course, we all want to pay less for our wireless plans, but remember that perks, speed, and coverage matter too.

Imagine you’re stuck waiting at the DMV and your data speeds are too slow to stream. Or what if your car breaks down and your coverage is too shoddy to call AAA? There are some very real reasons that people pay extra for Verizon.

Discounts for seniors, first responders, and others

Never pay full price for anything if you don’t have to. There are several ways to get discounts on Verizon plans. For those who are 55+ there is an unlimited data plan that can save you $20 a month or more. Here’s a look at the company’s senior plan.

Verizon will also hook up students, teachers, first responders, active military , and nurses. Eligible customers can save at least $10 with these plans.

Verizon family plans

We love family plans . There is simply no better way to save money on your phone bill, no matter which carrier you’re with. When it comes to Verizon, you can cut your phone bill in half when you have four lines on your account.

Just check out the prices in this chart.

Verizon’s myPlan lets each member of your family get the unlimited plan they want (Unlimited Welcome or Unlimited Plus) while still getting family plan discounts. This way your teenager can get the streaming perks, and you can get the business perks. Each person can also choose whichever add-ons their heart desires.

Verizon family plans comparison

Adding lines to your Verizon plan will save you money. But your bill will still be higher than it could be with other carriers. If you’re willing to go with a discount carrier, like the Verizon-owned Visible Wireless , you could get a four-line plan for as little as $100 a month.

Verizon prepaid plans

The classic cellular loophole of getting a cheaper deal with a prepaid plan sadly doesn’t work too well with Verizon. The prepaid plans end up being more expensive than cheaper services. But Verizon prepaid plans still offer excellent coverage, so you do have that going for you.

Also, not all of Verizon's prepaid plans come with features like hotspot tethering. If you’ve ever needed to access your computer on the go, you know how important a hotspot can be.

Oh, and one more thing—you could experience slower speeds due to data deprioritization (which is a fancy way of saying you’re at the back of the line when the network is congested).

If you’re set on getting a prepaid plan, you might want to check out Metro by T-Mobile or Tello by T-Mobile .

Verizon cell phones and devices

The best time to score an awesome deal on a new phone is when you’re signing up for a new plan. Verizon can hook you up with a great price on the latest devices, like an Apple iPhone 13, Samsung Galaxy S22, or Google Pixel 6.

This chart shows some of Verizon’s most popular deals on new phones and devices.

Verizon’s performance

Verizon has owned the championship belt for best coverage for a while now, and it's no different in 2021. Verizon offers 4G coverage to 70% of the country, which leads all major networks. 1

4G Coverage Infographic

This is why Verizon costs more than the wireless competition—good coverage costs money. If you’re the type that ventures to parts unknown (like North Dakota or something), or even if your area is just more rural, you’ll probably want the reliability Verizon provides.

Check out the Verizon coverage map below to see what we’re talking about.

You might notice that Verizon’s 5G coverage isn’t half-bad either. The company hasn’t quite caught up to T-Mobile when it comes to 5G nationwide coverage. But it’s ultra-wideband 5G network is growing fast (towers went up in my Salt Lake City neighborhood last year), meaning that you could get 200+ Mbps speeds if you live in the right area!

Verizon customer service

The cell phone industry as a whole struggles with its customer service, and sadly, Verizon is no exception.

Keep in mind you can still get help with your Verizon account or phone through online chat (if you’re signed into your Verizon account) or throw some hashtags Verizon’s way on Twitter and Facebook.

  • Twitter: @vzwsupport
  • Facebook: @verizon

We’d like to see Verizon innovate and improve when it comes to customer service. And a more transparent way of allowing customers to price and compare plans wouldn’t hurt, either.

How to pay your Verizon bill

Getting a hold of Verizon customer service may be hard. But giving Verizon your money isn’t. There are tons of ways to pay your Verizon bill: with the app, online, over the phone, by mail, or by signing up for Verizon autopay.

You can get a step-by-step guide to paying your Verizon bill and signing up for autopay in this article .

Recap: Is Verizon good?

If you’re looking for the TL;DR on how Verizon’s cell phone service compares, look no further.

  • Unlimited plans: You can go for the Unlimited Welcome plan if you’re okay with occasional data slowdowns. If you want reliable speeds and more perks, like mobile hotspot data, then opt for the pricier option, the Unlimited Plus plan.
  • Family Plans: If you’ve got a couple of family members who will share a family plan with you, then do it. It will save you a ton of money, but your bill will probably still be higher than it would be with another company.
  • Performance: Verizon’s coverage and data speeds earned top ratings again and again. You can’t argue with that.
  • Customer service: It’s fairly easy to reach Verizon online, but the entire wireless service provider industry leaves something to be desired when it comes to customer service.

If you’re all about fast speeds and the best coverage, Verizon is a great pick. If you want to get the best possible price, do what you can to work within a family plan. If you’re a single user, reach out to family and friends and see if you can hop on a plan.

This Verizon Wireless review is the result of dozens of hours of research over several years. We’ve monitored Verizon’s plans, performance, and coverage over the years so that we can provide the most informative and helpful analysis to our readers.

We used publicly available information about Verizon wireless plans, customer reviews, and our own data from over 100,000 mobile users to evaluate Verizon’s overall value and data speeds.

We hope that this review has helped you find the perfect cell phone plan. If you’re curious you can read more about our reviewing process in this article .

There are many other carriers that use Verizon’s network. These companies are called mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs). Instead of operating their own cellular towers, these Verizon MVNOs just lease bandwidth from Verizon.

There are at least 15 smaller companies that use Verizon’s network, but we recommend Visible Wireless for its wildly cheap family cell phone plans and Xfinity Mobile for its awesome bundling deals (for those already on Xfinity internet).

Just be aware that MVNOs often have slower data speeds because when the network gets busy Verizon slows down their customers’ data first!

Overage charges have mostly gone the way of the dinosaurs, and that deserves a cheer.

After your first 30 GB on the Unlimited Plus plan during times of high traffic, Verizon could slow your speed down to 600 Kbps or less.

If you’re on a prepaid cell phone plan (both with a data cap and the unlimited data plan), you might feel like your internet browsing is in slow motion if you exceed your data limit and Verizon throttles you back to 128 Kbps.

Yes, you will need to pay a one-time activation fee if you’re a new Verizon customer, and this rings in at $35 per line.

We also noticed that Verizon waives the activation fee when you purchase a prepaid phone and plan online. Huzzah!

Tired of burying your phone in rice after dropping it in the sink or squinting to see the text on your cracked screen? Then an extended warranty or equipment insurance might be worth it in the long run.

If you’re looking for a standard level of protection (loss, theft, or damage) for only one device, we think the Total Equipment Coverage hits the spot. The price is much less per month than the Total Mobile Protection plan, and the deductible is the same.

Verizon allows you to Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and offers a free SIM card if you check your phone’s compatibility on its site (otherwise, the card costs $24.99).

No need to tell all your friends and family to update their contacts—Verizon offers free phone number transfers. It usually takes up to a day to transfer a number from your wireless device, and Verizon says your old phone will continue to work as the transfer proceeds.

You can check if your current number can be transferred on Verizon’s site.

Don’t cancel your current service before you transfer your number to Verizon. While you may be ready to cut ties with your old wireless provider, keeping your service until the transfer is complete helps make your transition smoother.

In general, Verizon accepts returns and exchanges of devices within 30 days, but it still charges you a $50 restocking fee. Heads up: you can exchange your device only once, so make sure your second choice is a match made in heaven.

As with any big company, Verizon’s return and early termination policies are pretty lengthy. We recommend reading through them if you’re considering canceling your service or returning your device.

Does Verizon have a senior discount?

Verizon offers one discount cell phone plan for folks who are 55 and up.

Does Verizon have a military discount?

Verizon’s military discount can knock $10 off  your Verizon cell phone bill every month.

To qualify for the military discount, you’ll need to be either active duty or a veteran and provide proof of service.

Active duty members need a military-issued email, paystub, or SCRA Status Report.

Veterans need their DD 214, veterans ID card, military retiree account statement, or a VetRewards card from Veterans Advantage.

Business Plan

Verizon has three different categories for a business plan:

Flexible business plan Business unlimited The new Verizon plan for business

Flexible business plan:

It has the capacity to attach up to 26 computers. Some of the features of Verizon's versatile wireless business strategy are as follows:

The aim of developing this plan was to allow companies to customize it. Users can configure their data allowance for each line, and they can use one shared data pool to add as many lines as they need for their company. Customers may use the free hotspot included within their plan. Users with a Verizon wireless business plan will make unlimited calls and send unlimited texts throughout the United States.

It allows users to text globally without limitations, allowing them to communicate with people in over 200 countries. This business plan is compatible with smartphones and tablets. The Verizon wireless business model allows consumers to share data easily and quickly. It also gives you access to your emails and helps you organize and monitor your professional life.

Package prices

The 2GB kit costs 65 dollars a month. For mobile phones, the 4GB, 6GB, 8GB, and 10GB monthly packages cost $75, 85, 95, and 105 dollars, respectively. Monthly plans for tablets are 10$, 35$, 45$, 55$, 65$, and 75$ for 100 MB, 2GB, 4GB, 6 GB, 8GB, and 10GB.

Business unlimited:

Unlimited essential, unlimited company, and unlimited plus are the three variants. It connects four devices and is specifically designed to develop with a company. Unlimited critical costs $30 per month for phones and $35 per month for tablets.

It's a low-cost package that's ideal for startups and small companies that only need the most basic features to get by. Unlimited company costs $35 a month and allows for both domestic and foreign use. Unlimited Plus is available in two price ranges: $50 and $75.

The new Verizon plan for business:

It can accommodate up to 25 units. The package is available in six different configurations and is best suited for medium-sized groups. Rollover data, shareable data, safety mode, and much more are all included. Packages ranging from 25GB to 200GB are available for 175$ to 1000$.

Why choose wireless plans from Verizon for your business

* They have a strong and wide market reach

Verizon's deep and broad presence makes it an ideal partner for companies in both rural and urban areas. It provides a number of cellphone plans that are appropriate for companies of all sizes.

* Great Coverage

This is a perfect option for users who travel often because it can satisfy connectivity needs, provide 5G access, and provide excellent network coverage. Verizon offers limitless data and messaging in over 210 countries around the world.

The only major weakness in Verizon's wireless industry is its high price and costly plans, which puts it out of reach for many small businesses and startups. Their plans have minimal features that don't always live up to the high prices.

Personal Plans of Verizon

Here are some of the best personal plans of Verizon

1. Verizon prepaid plans:

Verizon provides a variety of monthly prepaid plans that include unlimited texting and calling throughout the United States, as well as international texting in over 200 nations. The plans vary in price from $35 to $65 for 6GB to unlimited storage. The plan costs 35$ for 6GB for moderate users. A 45-dollar 16-gigabyte plan is also affordable. A $65 prepaid unlimited plan is available, but it requires a long-term commitment.

2. More Unlimited:

Individual plans for personal, family, and business use are included. For an additional $10, you can get unrestricted 4G and 5G access. This is for heavy data users who are still willing to push the boundaries. For 1 line use, it has the following subcategories:

- Start unlimited for $70

It excludes mobile hotspots and restricts video streaming to a narrow definition. Streaming in 480p is included.

- Play more unlimited for $80

It comes with a 15GB monthly mobile hotspot. Video streaming is in high definition (720p), and data speeds can slow after 25GB. It gives you access to Apple Music as well as 5G. It's the best for streaming music and videos.

- Do more unlimited for $80

It also provides a monthly 15GB high-speed mobile hotspot, as well as a 50% discount on tablets and wired computers. After 50GB of data consumption, data speed can slow. It gives you access to Apple Music as well as 5G. This is the strategy to select if work and efficiency are your top priorities.

- Get more unlimited for $90

It comes with a monthly high-speed mobile hotspot of 30 GB. After 75GB, data rates are likely to slow. It has 720p video capabilities and 500 GB of cloud storage. Apple Music and 5G are also available. This provides Verizon's best overall results as well as additional features.

Many of these plans include unlimited texts and calls, Verizon perks, and discounts for military and first responders.

3. Single device plans

Verizon has a simple individual phone plan for $30 that includes 500MB of data and unlimited text and chat. Verizon offers 1GB of data for $10 on tablets. It allows for unrestricted chatting, messaging, web browsing, and social media use on occasion.

A 1GB plan for hotspots costs $10 and allows users to connect other devices to browse the web and send emails. A 1GB plan for wearables costs $10 and allows us to email, call, listen to music, and use GPS at the same time.

Why you should get a Verizon Wireless Personal Plan?

They have a variety of styles and offer users a lot of choices to choose from, but they can be expensive.

Final Thought

Each personal and business plans have their own set of benefits and drawbacks, so a customer should certainly look for the right option and test it out through experimentation in order to analyze it more objectively.

Wireless behemoth Verizon is slated to report its Q1 2024 results on April 22. We estimate that revenues will come in at about $33.3 billion for the quarter, in line with consensus estimates and down 1% compared to last year. We project that earnings will stand at $1.13 per share, compared to consensus estimates of $1.12 per share. So what are some of the trends that are likely to drive Verizon’s results? See our interactive dashboard analysis on Verizon Earnings Preview for more details on how Verizon’s revenues and earnings are likely to trend for the first quarter.

Verizon appears to be getting its act together on the 5G front. While the company traditionally had a handicap in 5G mid-band spectrum, which offers both wide coverage and high speeds, compared to T-Mobile, Verizon has been acquiring and deploying new C-band spectrum to address these gaps and this appears to be showing in the company’s numbers as well. Over Q4 2023, Verizon added 449,000 postpaid phone customers, compared to 217,000 for Q4 2022. Separately, Verizon should also benefit from its myPlan program, which enables wireless consumers to add a la carte features including video streaming subscriptions to mobile phone plans. These features have been finding favor with customers and could help drive per-user revenues and margins over Q1. Verizon is also gaining ground in the fixed wireless broadband segment, which is finding favor with U.S. customers, due to flexibility and low costs. In the previous quarter, Verizon added 375,000 fixed wireless broadband connections, taking its total subscriber base up to over 3 million users. This is also helping the company drive incremental services revenue growth.

VZ stock has suffered a sharp decline of 35% from levels of $60 in early January 2021 to around $40 now, vs. an increase of about 40% for the S&P 500 over this roughly 3-year period. Notably, VZ stock has underperformed the broader market in each of the last 3 years. Returns for the stock were -12% in 2021, -24% in 2022, and -4% in 2023. In comparison, returns for the S&P 500 have been 27% in 2021, -19% in 2022, and 24% in 2023 - indicating that VZ underperformed the S&P in 2021, 2022, and 2023. In fact, consistently beating the S&P 500 - in good times and bad - has been difficult over recent years for individual stocks; for heavyweights in the Communication Services sector including GOOG, META, and NFLX, and even for the mega-cap stars TSLA, MSFT, and AMZN. In contrast, the Trefis High Quality Portfolio , with a collection of 30 stocks, has outperformed the S&P 500 each year over the same period. Why is that? As a group, HQ Portfolio stocks provided better returns with less risk versus the benchmark index; less of a roller-coaster ride as evident in HQ Portfolio performance metrics . Given the current uncertain macroeconomic environment with high oil prices and elevated interest rates, could VZ face a similar situation as it did in 2021, 2022, and 2023 and underperform the S&P over the next 12 months - or will it see a recovery?

We remain marginally positive on Verizon stock, with a $43 price estimate which is roughly in line with the current market price. The stock trades at just about 9x consensus 2024 earnings, which is reasonable in our view. Verizon also has a thick forward dividend yield of over 6%. Although we don’t see a big revenue upside, we believe that the company’s growing 5G coverage should help it win over more subscribers and up-sell superior plans to its massive retail wireless base of over 120 million subscribers. See our analysis on Verizon Valuation : Expensive or Cheap for more details on Verizon’s valuation and how it compares to peers.

One of the most significant perks of the rewards program is being able to access presale tickets to exclusive events; this allows you to purchase tickets to see your favorite artists before they're made available to the general public.

Additionally, members also get to claim Super Tickets to access exclusive experiences like concerts, sports, new devices, and more. Only a limited number of Super Tickets are made available by Verizon Wireless, but if you're able to claim one, it's yours to use. The best part about being a Verizon Up Rewards member is that you get to keep track of the offers you've claimed; this way, you won't miss out on the deals you claimed.

Save Money On Healthcare And Medication With Hoy Health

Verizon has partnered with Hoy Health to help customers access exclusive discounts on health and wellness solutions. If you're an existing Verizon Wireless customer, you're eligible to enroll in the program. After you complete the enrollment, you'll be able to access discounts to the tune of 10% on prescription medication. You're also given an additional 10% discount on low-cost chronic condition management kits.

Additionally, you can book telemedicine consultations at a 35% discount with healthcare professionals. All physicians you see through this program are US-based but are open to bilingual (English and Spanish) teleconsultations. One of the most notable features of this program is that there is no separate monthly fee that you need to pay to access the plan benefits. You also don't need an active health insurance policy to participate in this program.

Eligibility for this program is relatively straightforward; as long as you're a new or existing Verizon customer, you can access the healthcare and medication discounts offered by this plan. If you qualify for this program, you'll be able to share your discount with up to a total of nine family members through your account. To take things a step further, be sure to download a few different wellness apps on your phone, so you can take a holistic approach to managing your health and wellness.

Keep Your Smartphone Protected With Verizon Mobile Protect

Given how much you likely rely on your smartphone, it's important that you keep it insured and protected. Verizon lets you do this by enrolling in its Mobile Protect Plan for a monthly fee. If you've purchased or upgraded to a new device via Verizon or brought your own eligible device when shifting to Verizon, you may be eligible for this coverage. In the event of a claim, the most you'll be liable to pay is the $99 damage replacement deductible. The plan also offers unlimited cracked screen repairs at no additional cost. So, for instance, if you are worried about the  cost of having to replace a Samsung phone screen , this coverage will do it for free, saving you hundreds of dollars.

If you think you may be eligible to receive this coverage, you can complete the enrollment process through Verizon's website by signing into your account. Alternatively, you could visit a store to complete your enrollment. While the Verizon Mobile Protect cover is a good option for people with individual lines, you can also sign up for the Verizon Mobile Protect Multi-Device program if you have between two and 20 lines, with eligible devices, on your account.

Access Profession-Based Discounts On Unlimited Plans

Verizon offers discounts to people from select professions and students as a way to give back to the community and make it more affordable for these individuals to access fast and reliable cellular services. The profession-based discount is available primarily to active military members, veterans, first respondents (including retirees, volunteers, and immediate family of those fallen in the line of duty), nurses, and teachers (grades K–12 and college). The discount is offered for Verizon's Unlimited plans, and eligible customers can save up to $25 on multi-line accounts.

While the process to secure this discount varies based on your profession, you'll typically need to undergo some form of identity verification process and then proceed to shop plans from Verizon. College students who opt for Verizon's wireless and home internet plans can also benefit from similar discounts. You can also combine your plans to increase your savings. Currently, students can save $10 per month with one line or $25 per month with two lines. You can also save up to $10 per month on Fios Internet plans and up to 50% when you combine a Fios Internet plan with a 5G Unlimited plan.

If you'd like to give Verizon a try and experience the coverage and plan benefits, you can sign up for the carrier's free trial. If you're happy with what the carrier has to offer, you can move to Verizon and sign up for these discounts and perks.
