Lets start! (mari mulai!)

This material quite simple, because we just explain what kind of food, texture and the taste.

(Materi ini cukup mudah, karena kita hanya menjelaskan tentang makanan, tekstur, dan rasa)

For example:

It’s rica-rica chicken. It’s spicy and greasy.
It’s iced-sweet tea. It’s cold and sweet.
It’s rice. It’s plain and sticky.

Probably the problem only on vocabulary, you need to remember it.

(Mungkin yang akan jadi masalah hanya pada vocabulary, kalian harus ingat beberapa kosakata)

Taste vocabularies:

Sweet = Manis
Spicy = Pedas
Plain = Hambar
Sour = Kecut / Asam
Savory = Gurih
Salty = Asin
Cold = Dingin
Hot = Panas
Bitter = Pahit

Texture vocabularies:

Sticky = Lengket
Crunchy = Garing
Crispy = Renyah
Greasy = Berminyak

Like Vs Don’t Like

If you like something, you can say “I like”.

(Jika kamu suka sesuatu, kamu bisa bilang “I like”)

If you don’t like something, you can say “I don’t like”.

(Jika kamu tidak suka sesuatu, kamu bisa bilang “I don’t like”)

If you want to ask someone that they like or dislike, you can use “Do you like….?”.

(Jika kamu mau bertanya kepada orang lain tentang yang mereka sukai, kamu bisa gunakan “Do you like…?”)

Things that need to remember if someone ask to you “Do you like…?”, you need to reply with this rules:

(Hal yang perlu diingat jika sesoeang bertanya kepadamu “Do you like…?”, kamu harus menjawab dengan aturan berikut ini)

If you like it : “Yes, I do.”
If you dislike it: “No, I don’t.”

Andi: “Do you like a tea?”

Anton: “Yes, I do. I like it very much.”

Jaka: “Do you like rica-rica chicken?”

Sania: “No I don’t. It’s too spicy”.

“A” and “an” are called articles.

(“A” dan “an” adalah sebuah articles)

We use “a” and “an” with singular nouns.

(Kita gunakan a dan an pada kata benda tunggal)

We use “a” before a consonant sound and “an” before a vowel sound.

(Kita gunakan “a” jika kata selanjutnya diawali konsonan, dan gunakan “an” jika kata selanjutnya diawali vokal)

I have a glass of milk and an omelet for breakfast.

We don’t usually use articles for:

Procedure text is a text that is designed to describe how something is achieved through a sequence of actions or steps.

(Teks prosedur adalah teks yang dirancang untuk menjabarkan bagaimana sesuatu dapat tercapai melalui beberapa langkah atau tahapan)

The structure of procedure text:

(Struktur dari teks prosedur: )

Goals (in the title)
Materials (ingridients and tools)
Comments (at bottom)

In this chapter specifically about recipe.

(Di bab ini lebih membahas tentang resep)

Such as reading ingredients and applying the method.

(Seperti membaca alat dan bahan serta mengaplikasikan langkah)

Please look into example recipe.

From the image we know that all information we needed and steps to make a Traditional Fried Rice.

What we need to remember is to make sure all steps in order and clear, so the reader not confused when follow it.

(Yang harus kita ingat adalah pastikan semua langkah berurutan dan jelas, jadi pembaca tidak bingung ketika mengikuti resep yang kita buat)

Imperative Sentences

The function of imperative sentences is for giving a command or instruction to do something.

(Fungsi dari imperative sentence adalah untuk memberikan perintah atau instruksi untuk melakukan sesuatu)

The form of an English imperative sentence uses the base verb with no subject.

(Bentuk dari imperative sentence menggunakan v1 tanpa subjek)

It may end with a full-stop/period ( . ) or an exclamation mark/point ( ! ).

(Biasanya diakhiri dengan tanda titik atau tanda seru)

Imperative sentences can be in positive or negative form, and can refer to present or future time.

(Imperative sentences dapat dalam bentuk positif ataupun negatif dan menunjukkan masa sekarang atau masa depan)

Example of positive imperative:

Heat the oil in the pan.
Cut the garlic into small pieces.

Example of negative imperative:

Don’t forget to put in some salt.
Don’t put chili in the fried rice.

Making Sticker Signs

Sinta wants her family house to look neat and clean every day. She then has an idea. She thinks that it is a good idea to put a label or a sticker sign on every part of her house. Those sticker signs will remind her family about what to do to keep the house clean. She asks Galang and Ara to help her out. They decided to write eight signs for the sticker. For example, Sinta made ‘Please do not leave dirty dishes in the sink’ sticker sign. Galang made ‘Please lush the toilet after using’ sticker sign. Ara made ‘Please take off your shoes’ sticker sign. Galang drew pictures for the stickers. Finally, they inished all the sticker signs. They put them anywhere in the house, such as on the toilet door or on the bedroom wall.
